I went on a solo trip to Nemuro for 2 days and 1 night, with 28 hours of stay. On the final day, with only 1 hour left before returning the rental car, I couldn't find a sushi restaurant and ended up eating ramen as a temporary solution. However, I couldn't give up on trying Nemuro's sushi, so I managed to rush into Hanamaru Sushi Chubetsu branch. At that point, I had only 30 minutes left before returning the car. Nemuro, Betsukai, and Chubetsu have a very low population, making it feel like the edge of the world. Despite this, Hanamaru Sushi, originating from Nemuro, had a long line at the main store, where I couldn't get in the previous night. Luckily, the Chubetsu branch had an available counter, and I entered without waiting. Although I still had the lingering taste of ramen, I quickly glanced at the passing sushi and menu, reached out my hand, and wrote down an order for about 5 plates. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was probably white fish, scallop, tuna, and so on. The immediate sensation when eating was not just "delicious," but rather "hmm? There's absolutely no fishy smell!" This clean and transparent taste spread in my mouth, giving a sense of freshness that I had almost forgotten. This experience was something you wouldn't find in sushi restaurants in Tokyo, especially conveyor belt sushi places. I hurriedly placed my order, ate quickly, and paid immediately, but Hanamaru Sushi is delicious! Next time, I want to go with a bigger appetite and take my time to choose and savor the flavors.
