Jyanbo Sōhonten is a popular takoyaki and okonomiyaki chain located in front of Osaka's train station. They offer large and fluffy takoyaki balls, which are a typical Osaka specialty. A set of 6 large takoyaki costs 350 yen, which may seem a bit pricey compared to the standard 8-piece set for 300 yen. However, considering the size of the takoyaki, the price seems reasonable. Recently, they have expanded to Tokyo as well, so I recommend trying the authentic takoyaki here instead of the questionable ones at other places. The savory broth-infused batter is delicious, and you can choose to have it with just sauce or plain. It has been a while since I last had it, but I think it is consistently tasty.

caloriezero. It would be better to stop, but I couldn't resist this time. I've always been curious about "Janbo Main Store JR Noda Station Front Store," so I brought some back with me. I managed to control myself and got the cheapest one. "6 Takoyaki," you know, Takoyaki is said to be 0 calories because it's round, right? Oh, they don't say that? Well, I guess it doesn't count when they're not perfectly round. Thanks for the meal.

I happened to find this restaurant on my way back from USJ. It was a chain store that I had never heard of before, but the atmosphere was nice so I decided to eat there. I bought takoyaki and squid okonomiyaki at a cheap price. I was exhausted and starving, but the takoyaki was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, hot and delicious despite the cold weather. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and tasty. Eating there on the spot is definitely the best! When I looked it up after returning to Tokyo, I found out that there are quite a few branches in the city, so I would like to try buying there as well. I wonder if they can reproduce the same taste though? It might depend on the person cooking and how they mix the ingredients.

Noda! It's Noda from Osaka! When I first arrived at this place and got off at the station, I saw a colorful sign for a takoyaki shop! Just as expected in Osaka~ On the second day, after drinking and having ramen as a finale, I heard a voice saying, "Is this what you're looking for?" I had been curious since the first day, so I got some takoyaki to go! Takoyaki for 300 yen and okonomiyaki for 400 yen are so cheap... I also had takoyaki at a ramen shop, but this one was definitely better! The sauce was delicious, sweet and spicy just the way I like it! I had both takoyaki and okonomiyaki, and they were gone in no time! I enjoyed them as a late-night snack at home with a lemon chu-hi while watching TV~

On my way home, I decided to pick up some takoyaki as a souvenir, so I stopped by "Janbo Sogo Honten Noda Station Front Store." This chain takoyaki shop is known for its energetic staff who can be heard calling out from 30 meters away. The shop is conveniently located right in front of the station exit, making it easy to access. I purchased a set of 15 large takoyaki for 600 yen. The takoyaki had a thick batter and didn't have a strong dashi flavor. The octopus inside was not particularly large, but the takoyaki itself was big, more like a snack than a gourmet dish. It's the simplicity and down-to-earth feel of this ordinary shop on a street corner that makes "Janbo Sogo Honten" stand out. Takoyaki doesn't need to be fancy, and this shop strikes the right balance. The large size of the takoyaki is also a unique feature.

On my way back, I was thinking of buying some takoyaki to take home, and then my eyes caught this shop here. The location is great because it's right in front of the station, so it's a fantastic spot. In this area, there are many bars and snack shops that have a somewhat nostalgic atmosphere, so it's wonderful. The takoyaki shop here takes advantage of its location, with young women calling out to station users to attract customers. I ordered 15 pieces of takoyaki, which you can choose from sauce, salt, or soy sauce. Bonito flakes and mayonnaise are free options. When I tried it, it was extremely hot and burned my mouth. It's very hot, probably because it's freshly made. I could see octopus inside the takoyaki, but there weren't any other noticeable fillings, just a simple flour-based dish. It's good to keep it simple, but it's so hot that I couldn't eat it right away. I think it's better to let it cool down a bit before eating. My upper palate got burned and it's stinging. So, I think it's best to buy it as a souvenir and eat it later. Thank you for the meal.

I was influenced by a favorite reviewer's takoyaki post, so as usual, I got off at Noda Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line and found myself drawn to "Janbo Sohonten" (shouldn't it be written as "總" instead of "総" for the main store?). Tonight, she is working hard alone. I ordered 6 takoyaki for 300 yen. The young female customer who ordered before me (who seemed quite stylish) started eating while sitting on a bench next to the store. I placed 300 yen on the counter, feeling a bit sad. As for the taste, I chose soy sauce, even though I usually prefer sauce. The takoyaki was similar to what I had in Nagoya, where the dough is pre-seasoned with soy sauce and no additional toppings are needed. I have a soft spot for this style of takoyaki. I took a photo of the takoyaki being cooked, and the lady kindly allowed me to do so. The takoyaki here is cooked rare, so it doesn't photograph well. It's a bit difficult to eat with chopsticks instead of toothpicks, but it's a unique feature of this store. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. A few days ago, I had takoyaki without any soy sauce topping at another store and realized it was similar to Nagoya-style takoyaki. Nagoya-style takoyaki is seasoned with soy sauce in the dough itself and eaten without any additional toppings. I tried to recreate this style with the takoyaki at this store. Initially, I thought "suyaki" in Osaka was similar, but I was mistaken. Most Osaka takoyaki are not seasoned in the base itself, but rather the natural flavors of the ingredients make up the taste. However, eating them as is is not the norm. The existence of "suyaki" is for those who want to try a different recipe than the seasoned taste provided by the store.

I went to the "Janbo Headquarters" behind JR Noda Station. It seems to be a chain restaurant that is popular in many places. The sign is bright and eye-catching, making it hard to resist. Today, I got takeout of "12 takoyaki for 500 yen" and "Modern-yaki (pork) for 530 yen." I enjoyed them at home with TV, beer, and snacks. The takoyaki were large, living up to the "Janbo" name. The Modern-yaki was also surprisingly big, with yakisoba and a fried egg on top. It was indeed a feast of snacks for one person, and I was very full. The portions were generous. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Next to visiting Kusunoki Shrine, I visited the Jumbo Main Store JR Noda Station branch in Osaka City, Fukushima-ku, Yoshino 3-7-7. It is a sushi izakaya specializing in Miyazaki's locally sourced chicken and pork. It is located near Toriton-chan and Bar Margarita. Following my visit to Jumbo Main Store Jyoseibashi branch, this is my second stop at a affiliated store. I bought some takoyaki, and it seems like the price has increased since my last visit. I wonder if they raised the prices of ingredients. There are quite a few takoyaki shops near JR Noda Station, which is great for consumers to have a variety of options.

I could see it right from the station ticket gate. They are grilling right in front of me. It's almost 11 pm, but they are grilling away. That's Osaka for you... even at a small station like this, there's a takoyaki shop. Impressive. And it's delicious. It's the creamy type, but it doesn't drip down. They put so much sauce on it (laughs). Takoyaki with sauce, 6 pieces for 350 yen, and a bag for 1 yen (but there are lots of 1 yen coins at the register, so you can use those, haha). The long lines at the famous shops in Dotonbori are just crazy. You can get delicious takoyaki here without having to wait in line. There must be many other small famous shops like this in Osaka. I'd like to visit such shops. (This shop has other locations as well).
