Met up with old friends in Nishi-Misasaga at 6 o'clock. "A bit early, huh? Just had curry for lunch and feeling a bit peckish." Decided to get off at Neyagawa-shi Station. Grabbed a quick bite on the platform and chose "Cold Tororo Soba" (470 yen) which arrived promptly. The soba was nicely chilled. Mixed it well with the tororo. It was delicious as usual! Finished it in no time! Thanks for the meal.

I visited a soba restaurant inside the station for a sudden business trip. The staff was polite and the service was good. I chose the pork cutlet rice bowl set. It had a rich flavor and was delicious. I may have eaten a bit too much, but it was tasty so I'm happy with it and would like to use it again.

It was so hot that I couldn't eat anything from noon, so I felt like eating cold zaru soba and walked into the restaurant. I enjoyed it with a side of kaya gohan. Despite being inside the station, I was able to fully enjoy the refreshing texture of the soba noodles. I will definitely go back while they are still serving zaru soba.

It's been a few years since I last wrote a review. This restaurant is located on the platform for trains heading towards Osaka on the Keihan Main Line. Out of the three locations (the others being Tanbabashi and Nakakojima), this one has the most spacious and open kitchen. You can see outside through the windows, which adds to the overall atmosphere. I ordered the popular dish, Komomaki Don. Although I was the only customer, it took a little while for the dish to be prepared. I also ordered Kake Udon and Chirimen Takuan. The dashi at Udon-ya is the best for standing udon and similar dishes (I think they just have a knack for it). However, this time, I found the aftertaste to be a bit unpleasant. The Komomaki Don consists of finely chopped kamaboko, onions, and chopped tempura all mixed with egg. The egg was cooked to a nice semi-soft texture. Overall, it was quite good. This was the first time I found a rice dish at Udon-ya to be delicious. The sweetness of the chopped tempura, the dashi, and the texture of the ingredients played a significant role. I wonder if the Komomaki Don is available at other locations.

On November 12, 2022 (Saturday), I boarded a semi-express train at Kitahama Station operated by Keihan Electric Railway in Chuo-ku, Osaka City, and got off at Neyagawa-shi Station on the Keihan Main Line operated by Keihan Electric Railway in Neyagawa City, Osaka Prefecture. I had something I really wanted to try at Neyagawa-shi Station, so I quickly moved to platform 2 on the up line. Once there, I purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine at "Men-za Neyagawa Shop" and handed it to the kitchen staff. I prepared a glass of cold water from the self-service station and sat at an available counter seat, waiting quietly. About 4 minutes after ordering, the "Matsutake Mushroom Tempura Udon (450 yen)" from the "Autumn Mushroom Fair" that I had ordered was served. I confirmed that the dish included udon noodles in broth, tempura made-to-order, fresh tempura mushrooms, and chopped green onions. I sprinkled seven-spice chili powder on top and tasted the dish. The sweet-flavored broth soaked into the tempura mushrooms and tempura fish cakes, which were freshly fried and incredibly delicious. I finished every drop of the broth, enjoying every bite of the meal.

A shop located on the Osaka side platform of Neyagawa City Station. It operates on a food ticket system. It was not crowded as it was past the lunch peak time. ☆Parent and child bowl set \600 This is definitely worth it for 600 yen. First, purchase a food ticket at the machine on the left side after entering the shop. Hand the ticket to the staff and wait while sitting on a chair. Self-service for water is available. Sitting near the water station is recommended when you are short on time. It's very convenient. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I wandered around the Keihan Railway line again. I've visited at least 5 times already. I had some time before my next appointment, so I went to Menza on the up platform of Neyagawa City Station. They fry the tempura after you order, so it's super hot. I also went to the Kashima branch the other day, but it felt different. The soba here has a bit of chewiness to it. The broth is slightly sweet. It was a pretty cold day, so it really warmed me up. Thank you for the meal! 🍜

This is a shop located on the Osaka-bound platform of Neyagawa City Station! I don't have much time but I need to eat something! This is a great place to grab a quick bite while waiting for the train. The noodles are like those you would find at a standing-eating shop, with a rich broth and delicious fried toppings! You can also easily access this shop from the Kyoto-bound platform via stairs, which is convenient! I used to frequent standing-eating shops in the past, but it had been a while since I last visited one. This shop has chairs, making it even more convenient! I may not use it often, but I hope it continues to operate as it is a valuable shop that I would be lost without!

At the train station platform, there is a udon and soba restaurant that also serves rice bowls. It's a fast, cheap, and delicious place with counter seats and chairs. You can order the Oroshi Bukkake Soba from the ticket machine. It's perfect for summer with refreshing daikon radish, green onions, and flavorful bonito flakes. Soba is better than udon for when you're feeling tired, as it's easily absorbed by the body. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

That day, I went to a spa in the morning. While soaking in the hot water, I suddenly felt like eating udon. Not a famous udon, not trendy Sanuki udon, but the simple station stand-up udon that I have been eating since I was young. I remembered this particular shop. I quickly got out of the bath and hopped on the shuttle bus to Korien. The shop I was looking for was inside Neyagawa City Station. Since I have a commuter pass, the transportation cost was practically free for me. I got on the train, arrived at the platform, and immediately entered the shop. I stood in front of the ticket vending machine. An elderly man in front of me was struggling with his electronic card, but I had a 500 yen coin in hand, so I quickly inserted it and pressed the button. I had imagined getting kake udon, but as soon as I saw the word "kakiage," I pressed that button instead. I sat at the counter and waited for the udon to arrive. I could hear the sound of the lady frying the kakiage. It was freshly fried. A few minutes later, she brought the tray with a greeting of "sorry to keep you waiting." I first slurped the broth. "Ah, this is it. This is what I wanted to taste." The taste of cheap udon that I had imagined in the bath. But that's what I wanted. The kakiage was also crispy and fragrant. The center was a bit doughy, but that's part of the taste. I finished the broth till the end, emptied the bowl, and left the shop feeling satisfied. It was a fulfilling morning. The clock had not even struck 10 yet. My day was over at this early hour. I don't remember anything after that. It was such a day.

On the third day of working in Kansai, I had work along the Keihan line today. On the way to Kouri-en, I found a noodle shop at Neyagawa City Station! I hurriedly got off the train and went to the shop. The noodle shop is a TGS located only along the Keihan line. I moved from the down platform to the up platform. I entered the shop at 12:00, but there was only one other customer. It's definitely because of the coronavirus pandemic. I bought tempura soba at the ticket machine near the entrance. The shop is quite open and you can see outside the station. It took a while after handing in my ticket. Oh, I can hear the sound of tempura being fried. It seems like they are serving it freshly fried! After a while, the staff brought it to me instead of calling out my number. The tempura was neatly arranged and looked delicious! I started with the soba noodles. It had a good texture and tasted delicious. The freshly fried tempura was also delicious with the sweetness of the vegetables. The broth was also good. Overall, I thought the soba noodles were of a high quality. Recently, this type of noodle shop has been increasing, but I was quite impressed with Noodle Shop. Thank you for the meal!

Station soba is delicious, isn't it? Inside Neyagawa-shi Station, there is a soba restaurant called "Menza Madode! Yamadera." On this day, I went to the soba restaurant "Menza" located inside Neyagawa-shi Station. I purchased a ticket for kitsune soba for 330 yen at the ticket machine inside the store. After sitting at the counter for a while, the dish was served. I was happy to see a very large piece of fried tofu in the bowl. Let's dig in! The broth is incredibly delicious, with a strong taste of bonito and kelp. The fried tofu is not too sweet, which is also delicious. In addition to noodles, they also have rice bowls, so I would like to try them next time. Located on the Osaka side platform, it's convenient to grab a quick meal and catch a train. Thank you for the meal!

Soba restaurant located inside Neyagawa Station on the Keihan Line. They have proper seating, not just standing. Today's menu: Kakiage soba for ¥410. Fast, cheap, delicious.

Since I don't use the train these days, I can't go out much, even if I want to. Seriously!? The number of "udon and soba restaurants" has drastically decreased! If they were available occasionally, that would be great - like the firm texture of noodles from Kagawa in Shikoku? However, there are udon shops that just serve hard noodles. Basically, I prefer cheap and quick service. Such restaurants have really decreased in the city.

Now it's called Menza, but it used to be called Hiei. Hiei at Hirakatapark Station (now closed) apparently had a dessert noodle dish and some unique sweet menu items for the summer. Hiei at Makino Station (now closed) had curry udon with bear meat, deer meat, or boar meat. I never got to try either of them. Menza at Tanbabashi Station, Nakagoshima Station, and Neyagawa-shi Station are still going strong. I wish I had tried the dessert noodles at Hiei in Hirakatapark Station, just for the sake of conversation. As I think about it, I slurp up my cold soba. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I enjoyed the Hakuho Parade and Keihan Family Rail Fair. Noodle-ya-san offered a set of kitsune udon and matsutake rice for 500 yen as a thank you day special. The matsutake rice was just an image on the poster, but still, it was a nice touch. The kitsune udon had a large piece of juicy fried tofu which was delicious. There was also a set with oyakodon. The restaurant was almost full when I entered, so it might be better to focus on speed rather than labor-intensive dishes. By the time I finished eating, it was just me and a family with children left, as the peak had passed. Thank you for the meal.
