I had pinned the information from a followee and decided to visit the legendary spot at Nishi Park where you have to wait in line. The parking lot is located at the back left of the store. I arrived at 11:40 and there were already 4 cars waiting. I went inside and there was one person outside and one group inside. I ordered two mixed egg dishes. The menu had pictures but it was a bit hard to understand what was inside, so it would be helpful to have a description. I was given a number tag and waited. There is self-service water and canned drinks available. The store was not crowded but there were takeout customers coming in one after another. I was prepared to wait for over 30 minutes, but luckily my order was ready in about 15 minutes. The toast was nicely done, and the burger was not too heavy, with a light sauce that complemented the sweet taste of the ground meat and sautéed cabbage. It was a hearty portion but with a light and enjoyable taste, so one burger may not be enough for men. I found it delicious and satisfying, unlike some other burgers that can feel heavy. The original location of Imaya Burger is in Nishi Park. Their hot dog is a mix of hot dog and hamburger. The original store is quite old, so it would be a shame if it closed down. However, I recently noticed that they have been opening new branches in Fukuoka city. I was surprised to find Imaya Burger in Amagi! When I entered, I saw three kind ladies working in a bright and welcoming store. There are a few counter seats and table seats available for dining in. They sell cold drinks and canned juices for self-service, but you can also bring your own non-alcoholic beverages. The taste is still best at the original store, but the portion size was just as generous. I hope they continue to carry on the tradition in the future. Thank you for the meal.

In Fukuoka Prefecture, one of the most well-known burger restaurants is probably Imaya Burger in Nishi Park. It has been a popular spot for many years, and even attracts tourists, sometimes leading to a wait of up to 5 hours. Five hours for a burger! People in this world must have a lot of patience. A branch of this popular restaurant opened in Amagi (Asakura City) in February. It seems like they have been expanding to new locations since last year. I'm not sure why they chose to open in Amagi, but this rural town has become a hidden gem. Even without any information on their official website, customers were flocking to the new location. I was lucky to visit on the second day of opening and only had to wait for about an hour, despite the lack of information. After the initial buzz, I decided to wait a while before visiting again. Fast forward six months, and I think it's time to go back. To prepare, I had a light lunch with less rice (laughs). When I arrived at the restaurant, there was only one customer ahead of me, but they had placed a large order of around 15 burgers. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I ordered the Mixed Cheese Burger for 550 yen. Some may find it strange to refer to burgers as "pieces," but Imaya Burger uses a long bun, which is unique to this region. In a neighboring city, Kurume, there is a peculiar hot dog that has become the norm for hot dogs there. While waiting, I noticed the manager was handling all the orders alone, with calls coming in one after another. It seemed like they were overwhelmed, and I couldn't help but wonder why they were so busy all of a sudden. The manager mentioned that whenever I visit unexpectedly, there is always a sudden influx of customers. It's like a jinx. Even the owners of now-closed restaurants like Umisakura, G Sushi, and the pre-popularity Bono, as well as the mother of the owner of S Kimon from Shime-cho, were mentioned. The local ramen shop owner's sister was also there, fully prepared, even though it was an unexpected time for customers. It seems like there's a pattern of these chance encounters (laughs). The manager's relative who lived nearby came to help out, and my Cheese Burger was finally ready. When I got home, I enjoyed the still warm burger. The combination of hamburger, sausage, and cheese was much richer in flavor than it appeared. The sweet and savory sauce added to the overall experience. The stir-fried cabbage inside was the highlight, adding a delicious depth to the burger. A friend once explained that the reason for the long bun was due to a regulation that required cabbage to be heated to over 100 degrees Celsius when served at a food stall. Whether that's true or not, it kind of makes sense. Overall, it was a delicious meal. If you're going to eat a burger in Fukuoka, this place is a good choice. Thank you for the meal.

Before 2 pm, I hadn't eaten anything except for breakfast, and I was feeling hungry but didn't want to eat too much because of dinner later. I remembered that there was a branch of Imaoya in Amagi, Asakura City, which is located in Nishi Park. I decided to walk there to check it out since I hadn't gone for a walk this morning. It's about 1.5 kilometers from my house, so if the food is as good as it looks, I'll be very happy. When I arrived at the restaurant, the exterior looked old due to the previous tenant, but the interior was very clean and nice. There were two female staff members. I went inside, looked at the menu, and had a hard time deciding. My wife and I had agreed to order one dish. However, she looks like a hot dog, so I didn't really trust her taste. I ordered the Egg Cheese Burger for takeout and waited inside the restaurant. While looking at photos of Imaoya in Nishi Park, I embarrassingly found out on the spot that they had once been ranked 3rd nationwide. Ignorance is not good. I knew they were famous and that the owner was elderly, but I should have done my homework. If I had, maybe we would have each ordered one... The smell of the food being prepared was so good that I almost couldn't resist eating. But I held back. It was just one burger after all. On the way back home, I found myself walking much faster than when I went there. As soon as I arrived home, I cut the burger into two pieces and took a photo. Then, it was time to eat. Wow, it was delicious. The soft bread, tender hamburger, garlic sautéed cabbage, and cheese had a perfect balance. The sauce was outstanding! It had a strong sweetness with a hint of spicy seasoning that really stimulated my appetite. They said it was their own blend. The fact that the sauce and garlic were separate was really nice. The sensation of them mixing in my mouth was exquisite! It was gone in no time when I had half. I was hooked. Thank you for the meal.

Today was my regular appointment day, so after visiting a clinic in Amagi, Asakura City, I had lunch and decided to stop by a newly opened bakery on the old arcade street. I couldn't find the shop's parking lot, so I parked my car somewhere on the so-called station front street and came across a brand new shop. The name was "Imaya Burger," and it sounded familiar to me (although I couldn't quite remember why). I parked my car in the shop's parking lot and went inside to place my order. To my surprise, I saw the legendary old man from Nishi Park in the kitchen! Yes, this shop turned out to be a branch of the most famous hamburger shop in Fukuoka, "Nishi Park Burger." Although I was told there would be a one-hour wait, I had to try it, so I ordered the Mixed Burger for 450 yen. I went shopping and returned 30 minutes later to find a seat inside and wait. During that time, I was asked for my address, phone number, etc., for store registration. By 1:30 PM, they had run out of the bread scheduled for the day, so they stopped taking orders, which was 2 and a half hours earlier than the previous day. I had heard rumors that they were opening a branch in Ropponmatsu in the city, but I had no idea they would open a branch in Amagi. In fact, after placing my order, I searched online in my car, but there was no information on Tabelog, Google, or any other website, not even on Imaya Burger's official website. I was truly surprised. And yet, despite that, customers were coming in. I couldn't find it, but maybe the information was spread through personal Instagram accounts? By the way, they stopped taking orders right after mine, leaving only a few more slips of orders. It was a pretty close call. When I got home, I enjoyed the still warm Mixed Burger. In addition to the hamburger, it had a split sausage, cabbage, and sautéed ground meat, all in a long hot dog shape. The shape, which doesn't require opening your mouth wide like with round buns, is said to be easier for women on a date at Nishi Park to eat, according to my mischievous friend. Surprisingly, that might be true. Perhaps the elderly Living Legend is now in the stage of passing down the taste to the next generation. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious burger.
