On September 23, 2022, with the feeling that the situation with COVID has calmed down to some extent, I decided to go on a tour of Nihonbashi with my colleagues for the first time in a while. Despite strong rain in the morning and a forecast for rain all day, we were lucky that it only rained a little while we were out and about. The number of people planned to join decreased, and only four of us gathered before lunch. When asked for restaurant suggestions by my colleagues, I suggested tempura rice bowl or salt ramen (from Ramen Rin Namba) since we had a small group, and everyone wanted tempura rice bowl, so we decided to go to "Nihonbashi Ichimizen." "Ichimizen" operates seafood izakaya in Tanimachi 5-chome and Kuromon Market, and tempura specialty stores in Kizu Market and Tobita Shinchi, and previously had stores in Namba Parks, among others. The "Ichimizen" at Nihonbashi opened on April 13, 2012, in the former "Kyabe Yaki" location, with only 10 counter seats, so it's not suitable for large groups. There was a period when they were closed, so I was worried if they were still open, but they were offering both eat-in and takeout. When we arrived, there were seats available, but we had to sit in pairs. I ordered the "Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl (Regular)." My colleagues ordered "Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl (Large)" and "Conger Eel Tempura Rice Bowl," among others. The tempura rice bowl, which won the first National Donburi Grand Prix Gold Award, is easy to eat without causing heartburn, with plentiful shrimp, seasonal vegetables, and a perfectly balanced sauce. It is reasonably priced and all my colleagues who were trying it for the first time were very satisfied. It was a delicious tempura rice bowl. #Nihonbashi #TempuraRiceBowl #Ichimizen
