At the end of the year, we celebrated New Year's Eve at WITH THE STYLE FUKUOKA. We had dinner on New Year's Eve at the hotel's bar. We had reserved a popular private space surrounded by a water terrace with an outdoor feel, despite the cold weather, the transparent vinyl curtains and heaters kept us warm. The setting included a table with a sofa bench, cushions, and blankets. The pool's indirect lighting sparkled, accompanied by the sound of water and jazz music. It was a moment in an urban resort that enriches life with high-quality items such as interior, music, art, and cuisine. The course reservation included a private room fee, making it a reasonable plan considering the atmosphere and content. The mood was great, although the lighting was dim. Please excuse the dark photos.
PRIVATE ROOM DINNER COURSE PLAN 7,000 yen (tax included, 10% service charge not included):
- 1st DRINK: Choose a toast drink from the menu, including Moet champagne.
- AMUSE: Kumamoto Umakadori chicken bouillon.
- APPETIZERS: Salad with Itoshima root vegetables and yellowtail.
- HOT APPETIZERS: Foie gras sautéed sushi style with red wine sauce.
- PASTA: Ringuine with saury and Oita shiitake mushrooms.
- FISH: Snapper scale fry with Nagasaki lotus root and ginger risotto.
- MAIN DISH: Taliata of black beef thigh meat with Makomodake and Kyushu grapes (or charcoal-grilled Kyushu black beef sirloin for an additional 1,600 yen).
- DESSERT: Kumamoto chestnut and milk panna cotta.
The meal started with checking for dislikes and allergies. Warm bread was served to accompany the meal. The chicken bouillon contained white fish roe, matsutake mushrooms, and chestnuts. The yellowtail salad was served carpaccio style. The foie gras sushi was warm and served with pickled onions for palate cleansing. The ringuine with Oita shiitake mushrooms sauce was delicious, made with hand-cut flat pasta on a warm plate. The snapper scale fry was crispy on the outside and tender inside, served with a rich green sauce made with Italian parsley and butter. The risotto with Nagasaki lotus root was al dente and unexpectedly tasty. The Taliata of black beef thigh meat was served with a sauce made with Fukuoka's Kyoho grapes, and candied kumquats were served on the side. Under the meat, there were asparagus. For dessert, we could choose between coffee or tea, both served in heat-resistant mugs. The Kumamoto chestnut and milk panna cotta was made with Jersey cow milk from Kumamoto, with a crispy meringue topping, plenty of chestnuts, and a soft panna cotta texture. It was delicious!
Apart from the drink menu provided for the meal, we also ordered a Sidecar for 1,100 yen and a Martini for 1,200 yen. The young sommelier who took care of our private room was very attentive. The meal exceeded our expectations, especially the pasta, fish dish, and dessert. The Water Terrace seats overlooking the indoor restaurant on the opposite bank were a great experience, despite the cold weather.
