I had chicken jambalaya, a drink bar, and dessert. I enjoyed them in a cool room with air conditioning, which was perfect in the heat. I also had three espressos after the meal, which made me feel like I was resting my body, which was feeling a bit tired from the summer heat.

I had lunch at Denny's near Hankyu Ikeda Station. It was a bit late as I was on my way to a client near the station. The restaurant was full of elegant ladies from the northern part of Osaka. The interior had a slightly luxurious feel with tables and chairs. When asked if I preferred a counter seat, I said yes and was led to a single-person seat that felt more comfortable than a table.
The daily special plate lunch was 990 yen (tax included), and on Wednesdays, it was "Shiny Tar Hamburg & Meat Penne Gratin." It also came with a drink bar, which added to the value. The hamburg was topped with shiny teriyaki and tartar sauce, which was delicious. The hamburg itself was thick and fluffy. I ordered extra rice, and it came in two cute rice balls shaped like ice cream scoops, which made me smile. The drink bar glasses were made of glass with the Denny's logo, adding to the quality. The drinks were rich and flavorful, making it hard to resist having multiple refills. With the drink bar included and the quality of the food, I was very satisfied. If there was a Denny's nearby, I would definitely visit often. Well, I have to come back almost every week for work, so I'll probably stop by again. 2023.7.5

During my student days, I used to visit this place often in the late night. It's been a few years since my last visit. I ordered the Hamburg Curry Doria with a large portion of rice, which came to a total of 1040 yen including tax. The taste was typical of a family restaurant, but the curry sauce had a nice kick to it and was delicious. The large portion of rice was surprisingly small, and the thick hamburger patty was just okay for the price. What was most disappointing was not hearing the welcoming greeting of "Welcome to Denny's!" when I entered. I wonder when they stopped doing that?笑

Today, on January 28th, Reiwa 5 (Saturday), I went to Ikeda for my bi-monthly home doctor check-up. The check-up ended at 10:30 am, which was a perfect time for a morning drink! However, most individual shops in the Ikeda area don't open until 11 am, so I decided to try having a Western-style breakfast drink at Denny's for the first time in a year and a half. Upon entering, I noticed that the ordering system had changed to touch panels, but with the kind words of a young female staff member, I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, I was able to navigate the new system easily, perhaps because the menu had large fonts and pictures. Our orders included bacon and spinach, corn soup, eggplant and herb vegetable hamburger, red wine, white wine for my wife, and cod roe and mayo potato, corn soup, Japanese-style hamburger, shrimp fry, mega and regular whiskey highballs for me. Unlike other customers who were ordering morning or lunch sets, our orders were a bit different due to our unique dining habits. The atmosphere seemed to have shifted slightly towards a more upscale restaurant feel compared to our last visit for lunch. Thank you for the meal. Next, we will head to Osaka for some afternoon drinks!

The temperature on the day I visited was 32 degrees. Despite the intense heat, I stopped by to cool off at this place. I ordered the Devil's Brownie Sundae for 600 yen (tax included), which is a tall size sundae packed with chocolate pudding, chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate cone, chocolate sauce, bananas, and chocolate brownie. I also tried the Caramel Milk Pudding Mini Parfait for 500 yen (tax included), which was surprisingly fulfilling with milk pudding, milk gelato, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, granola, and bananas. The day was very hot, so I took my time to relax in the spacious and comfortable interior of the shop. The restroom was bright and clean. Next to the register, they were selling stone oven bread and Danish pastries for takeout. The restaurant is located at the corner of Yotsutsuji along National Route 176, just north of Kentucky Fried Chicken. The nearest station is Ikeda Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Main Line.

"Grated lemon hamburger set. Hamburger with one side dish and drink bar for 1200 yen. But I don't usually stay too long for lunch, so I don't really need the drink bar. If they could make it 1000 yen, that would be great. The taste was just delicious! It's been a while since I've been to Denny's, living in Kansai."

After leaving the hospital, I decided to go to Denny's near Ikeda Station, along Route 176. It is located next to a Seven Eleven. As soon as I entered, I was greeted with the traditional phrase "Welcome to Denny's." The interior was clean and the menu had a slightly unique twist, rather than just the usual offerings. I ordered the omurice, which was coated in a creamy and fluffy egg with a beef sauce that matched well. It was a comforting meal.

On August 15, Reiwa 3 (Sunday), with a heavy rain warning already issued in the Kawanishi area, my stressed-out wife declared in the early morning around 6:30 AM, "Who goes out for breakfast in this weather? Such a peaceful statement!" I had been exploring various early morning open shops in the Kawanishi and Ikeda areas, but suddenly remembered Denny's and checked on my phone, finding that they were open despite the heavy rain. However, many roads were closed around 6:30 AM. When I reached Ikeda (20 minutes away), there were fewer natural disasters, but the road towards Kyuanji was blocked. Despite it being before 7 AM, Denny's was packed with people of all ages. I couldn't help but think of the nightmare of Mount Osutaka 36 years ago. It turned out that families were having three-generation breakfasts during the Bon holiday season.
Our orders were:
- Myself: Best Egg Morning (toast) for 658 yen (including tax)
- My wife: Scrambled Egg Morning (stone oven bread) for 658 yen
Our morning plates arrived in about 10 minutes, during which we prepared hot coffee and Calpis Lemon from the drink bar. The hot coffee took some time but was delicious from the reliable coffee server. The store was bustling, making it easy to forget about the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the alcohol disinfection and temperature check mechanisms, which should have been thoroughly implemented, were somewhat lacking when the store became crowded. We also had a free pass for the temperature check amidst the crowded entrance. It can be difficult for the store to enforce strict measures when customers keep coming in one after another without a strong philosophy on the customer's side. After paying, we received a parking service ticket, but we were unsure of how to use it in the heavy rain, so we just left without handling it. Elderly people may find it difficult to understand such issues like the food ticket vending machine, which could make them avoid these types of stores. Hopefully, there can be a simpler solution in the future. Thank you for the meal today.

During the self-restraint period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the only time I go out is for breakfast. *Denny's Ikeda Store* Normally, I would like to go out for a walk, but due to the intense heat, COVID-19, and heavy rain, I have to drive. I arrived around 7:30 am and entered the store. About half of the seats were already taken. The restaurant's COVID-19 measures were thorough, but there were some slightly large groups, which made me feel a bit uneasy. Our breakfast orders were: My husband had the ★Best Egg Morning (toast) & Drink Bar @ 658 yen, and I had the Scrambled Egg Morning (stone oven boule) & Drink Bar @ 658 yen. It was a one-plate dish with salad, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and stone oven boule. A well-balanced and colorful breakfast, which felt luxurious to me. I had hot coffee and cafe au lait as my drinks. The stone oven boule was fluffy and delicious. It seemed to be a popular bread as they were selling it for takeout near the register. I would like to buy it next time I visit. And next time, I want to try the Japanese breakfast (*'▽') Looking forward to visiting again during the prolonged COVID-19 self-restraint. It was a delicious meal.

I suddenly got hungry while out and decided to stop by this Denny's. Since there isn't a Denny's nearby, this was my first time at one. I chose a seat at the counter with an outlet, where I could relax. I was craving meat, so I ordered the cut steak with a salad. The steak had a nice chewy texture and was delicious. I particularly liked that it came with spinach on the side.

It's been a while since I had a meal out with my son other than ramen (lol), and it's also been a while since we visited a family restaurant. We used to come here a lot when he was little - it was always so lively and bustling. There are so many childhood memories at Denny's. Just looking at the menu at Denny's gets you excited, right? I want to try everything, but since it's just my youngest and me now, we can eat whatever we like. For lunch, the menu is quite reasonable and a good deal, but today, my son and I each chose our favorite dishes. My son chose mentaiko spaghetti and taratare mayo potato - he's definitely a young guy. I chose pork shabu-shabu with grated daikon for my main dish, which was refreshing and delicious. The shrimp tartare from the side menu went straight to my son's plate (lol). I wonder how many more meals we can share together. I suddenly thought about that after my older brothers moved out. I hope the situation with COVID settles down soon so we can all visit Denny's together.

On February 2, 2019 (Saturday), children start from birth and normally grow up through infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. As a picky eater, I feel like I have finally reached the level of a child in terms of food. My taste buds are still not very advanced, but I can now recognize whether something tastes good or not. Our weekly Saturday morning drinking routine took us from Starbucks to Gusto, and then we tried having breakfast drinks at Denny's this time. Our orders were as follows:
Me: Demi Tamahamburg - 862 yen
Shrimp Fry - 430 yen
Wife: Japanese-style Hamburg - 754 yen
Oyster Fry - 268 yen
Eggplant and Spinach Grated Dressing - 214 yen
Shrimp Tartar Salad - 324 yen
We also had red wine (decanter) and white wine (decanter) for 808 yen each. We arrived at the Denny's located on the Yamanote side of Ikeda at 10:30 AM. The area is known for its research institutes and schools, making it somewhat of an educational district. The atmosphere inside was calm, with couples and families quietly enjoying their breakfast. The staff's responses were clear and pleasant. The presentation of the dishes was vibrant, but the main dishes felt a bit lacking in volume compared to other chain restaurants. The Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc wines were on par with previous chain restaurants. Personally, I felt that the wines were the most authentic. However, the fact that the morning wine at Denny's costs twice as much as other places was a bit tough to swallow. Also, Denny's stores are scarce in the Kansai region, so finding the next one might be a challenge. Overall, the experience was good as usual, but the high price of the morning wine and the limited number of stores in the area were drawbacks. Thank you for the meal.

On weekends in February of the 31st year of Heisei era, we made our regular visit to a family restaurant. This time, we decided to try a new place, Denny's, in Ikeda City. The restaurant was located in a quiet area surrounded by hospitals, schools, and government offices. The atmosphere inside was calm and peaceful. When we arrived, many people were already enjoying their morning meals.
Our order included:
- Red wine (decanter) @ 808 yen
- White wine (decanter) @ 808 yen
For the main dishes:
- Demi Tamahamburg @ 862 yen
- Shrimp fry @ 430 yen (for my husband)
- Japanese-style hamburger @ 754 yen
- Oyster fry @ 268 yen (for me)
Side dishes:
- Eggplant and spinach with grated radish @ 214 yen
- Shrimp tartare salad @ 324 yen
The wine had a rich and deep flavor, different from what we had experienced at other restaurants. The dishes were beautifully presented, fashionable, and elegant. The staff were polite and provided excellent service. Although the prices were a bit higher than other family restaurants we had been to, the slightly luxurious feel was refreshing. We had a satisfying and peaceful time. Thank you for the meal.

Denny's parfaits are affordable and delicious, so I often go there during their promotions. This size is probably the best for enjoying the taste.

I stopped by during morning time to kill some time. There were quite a few customers, maybe locals? They seem to offer a senior service during mornings. There were various morning menu options, but I was drawn to the "Colorful Vegetable Soup Rice" which is perfect for dieting. It includes various vegetables, beans, grains, and healthy ingredients, totaling 299kcal! It's satisfying and costs 554 yen. I liked it so I plan to visit again.

On July 26, 2015, my wife has been urging me to visit this restaurant thoroughly for the past few months, while I have been adamantly refusing. Especially in the past month, she has been inviting me repeatedly, mentioning that the place has been renovated. Today, I had to pick up my car from work (Ikeda) and my wife was desperately trying to choose a lunch spot. In the end, the only option left in the Ikeda area with parking and fitting my taste was Denny's! So, Denny's it was for today! As I observed from the entrance, the coordination among the staff seemed somewhat awkward. Among them, there was an elderly woman who appeared to be the floor manager. While it's not my intention to perpetuate gender stereotypes, generally speaking, women excel in individual care, but men seem to have an advantage in overall judgment. Therefore, perhaps a male with adequate experience would be better suited for the role of floor manager? I ordered the "Plenty of Vegetable Soup Rice (with other side dishes → Potato Salad specified)" for 825 yen, while my wife ordered the "Tuna Rice and Soft-Boiled Egg Udon" for 916 yen. The dishes were served in about 10 minutes. It was 10:45 AM, and the restaurant was already half full with a summer vibe due to the renovation being well-received. As for the food, being a family restaurant, we can't expect extravagance. As long as the whole family can enjoy a fun dining experience, that's all that matters. However, I was surprised to hear nearly half of the customers who came after us saying, "We have a reservation." Is it becoming necessary to reserve a table even at this type of family restaurant? Or is the economy truly on an upswing? Another enjoyable meal today!
