I was taken to my long-awaited unfinished wish on my birthday ☺️ It was a 10-course meal including soups starting with refreshing citrus jelly, gradually becoming rich with cheese and chocolate, and ending with baked goods. The expectations were quite high, but from start to finish, the taste and elegance exceeded expectations. There were salty items in between, sweet and salty combinations, and I never got tired of it, enjoying it without feeling overwhelmed. Everything was delicious, of course, but what I particularly liked were the fluffy lemon meringue and citrus surrounded by crispy cookies, and the crème d'anjou (with mango sauce inside!) and mango dessert were truly amazing. It has become my favorite restaurant in Kyoto ^^

I visited this restaurant as part of a trip on a regular day. It was by reservation only and each dish was delicate and delicious. Personally, I wanted to relax and enjoy the experience, but I overheard the couple next to me and felt a bit uncomfortable. The restaurant is not overly high-end, but because it requires a reservation, I hope that those who can truly appreciate dessert will visit.

I received a recommendation from a friend and tried the dessert course here. Each plate was delicious and full of exciting flavors. Normally, I would rank them as first, second, etc., but this time each dish had its own unique taste and I couldn't decide on a favorite. I would love to come back here again when the seasons change!

Reservation: Yes Number of visitors: 1 person Duration: 1.5 hours Price: 7000 yen per person From start to finish, all the sweets were delicious. It would be nice to have a more prominent main dessert. The menu included items like homemade brioche with yuzu, fermented cream with citrus, and various other unique desserts such as carrot cake, honey ice cream, blood orange, and more. The variety was impressive, but a standout main dessert would have been a nice addition.

Recently, there has been a surge in dessert specialty shops like mushrooms after the rain, but this shop has been around since before the boom. The course consists of small portions served in multiple dishes, with 9 dishes plus a souvenir totaling to 10 items. The overall quantity is not as much as a full meal course, but it is quite substantial. Purchased items (tax included): - Seasonal Dessert Course (5,940 yen + 550 yen) - Lily root and yuzu kudzu soup ☆×3.2 - Creme d'Anjou with persimmon sauce and red core daikon ☆×3.6 - Lemon tart ☆×3.7 - Tarte Tatin ☆×3.8 - Mont Blanc with Japanese chestnut ☆×3.2 - Pear and chocolate ☆×3.6 - Swan choux ☆×3.4 - Petit fours ☆×3.4 - Baked goods ☆×3.5 - Souvenir: Baked goods and flavored tea ☆×3.5 - Red tea (830 yen) ☆×3.5 Purchased items: The shop had a somewhat intimidating atmosphere with only counter seats and a simultaneous start, and there were many aspects that I didn't like, so I was hesitant to go. However, the atmosphere was indeed firm but not off-putting, and what they offered was relatively easy to understand, resulting in a good impression. The dessert course seemed to have a high hit-or-miss rate, and this place was no exception, making it quite challenging.

This autumn, Mont Blanc, which never stops evolving, has switched from using "Yamazaki" to "Kino-bi" for their alcohol. The presentation of the Tart Tatin has become even more vibrant than before. Each visit brings new expectations, and the professional skills that exceed those expectations are truly impressive.

I have visited this restaurant many times, but this time I was able to attend their anniversary event for the first time. This event was limited to those who had visited the restaurant five times or more in the past, and the special course included: - Original blend tea by migion - A warm dish - Tamba chestnut parfait - Mini desserts (5 items) This course (with one drink included) was offered. The restaurant had prepared new tableware for the event, and I felt that their dedication to ingredients, tableware, and decor never ceases to amaze me. I recommend that anyone who loves sweets in Kyoto should visit this restaurant at least once.

First visit. Assiette Dessert mikan - a shop where you can enjoy a dessert course with a total of 9 items. The entrance is on the semi-basement 1st floor. It is a very beautiful space with only a counter. We were instructed not to move the tableware to avoid damaging the counter. The cutlery is used until the end, so we return it to the holder after finishing each dish. We started the course with a cold herbal tea! The 9 desserts are as follows. We also had 4 types of pairings to go with the desserts. 1) Chilled corn soup with konjac, Yoshino kudzu, and Japanese sugar; 2) Grape and creme d'anjou shine with muscat grapes, Nagano purple queen, and rouge myoga; 3) Syrup, brioche dough, plum sauce, milk gelato, and citrus flash; 4) Blueberry from Shiga, organic vanilla mousse, honey parfait, blueberry confiture, red shiso jelly, and Kyoto sansho meringue; 5) Caramel foam mousse, carrot cake, kataifi powder, caramelized figs, and fresh figs; 6) Chocolate ganache with walnut and caramel parfait, foam mousse, pistachio chiffon cake, caramelized walnuts, chocolate cookie, and fried potatoes; 7) Avocado and tomato foam with salt, shiso powder, and olive oil; 8) Tiramisu with mascarpone foam mousse, chicory coffee, Spanish chocolate gâteau, rhubarb pistachio butter sandwich cookie, macaron with cream cheese and blueberry, and vanilla bean crème brûlée; 9) Madeleine and financier. Pairings (4 types): 1) Champagne (Comte Hugues Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature); 2) White wine; 3) Red wine (Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Riserva Sanguineto); 4) Dessert wine (Solenghi Gaetano Danza del Sole). We enjoyed a variety of desserts made with seasonal fruits and the wine and champagne pairings were also enjoyable. You can also watch the plating in front of the counter, adding to the sense of presence. It will surely bring a different kind of enjoyment with each change of season. Thank you for the feast.

This is a dessert specialty shop located on Gokomachi Street in Kyoto. They operate on a three-part schedule starting at 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 7:30 pm. The seating is only at the counter, and you can enjoy watching the chef make desserts from the open kitchen. I tried the 4950 yen course which included: - Sweet Corn Soup: Made without sugar, using only salt to bring out the sweetness of the corn. Served with Yoshino Konjak and Wasanbon Kudzu jelly, with an accent of Hojiso. - Lemon Espuma: A refreshing dish with woodruff shaved ice, Fukuoka honey, and Yatsuhashi. - Creme D'Anjou: A spherical dessert with creme d'anjou at the bottom, coconut meringue on top, and pineapple sauce inside with a hint of shichimi pepper. - Sweet Rice: Fushimi rice cooked sweet with a sauce thickened with edamame and kudzu, served with rice chips. - Carrot Cake: A cylindrical dessert with Tango carrot cake, cream cheese espuma, caramel ice cream, and blood orange pulp. - Chocolate Dessert: A rich chocolate dessert with 70% cocoa chocolate, Yamazaki whiskey ganache, and a purple sweet potato tuile with crumble and caramelized walnuts. - Palate Cleanser: A swan-shaped choux pastry with avocado, tomato espuma, Maldon salt, shiso, and olive powder. - Mignardises: Includes coffee tiramisu, opera cake, blueberry macaron, lemon peel butter sandwich, creme brulee with Madagascar vanilla beans. - White Miso Financier and Ginger Madeleine: A dessert-only course with a good balance of flavors for those who love sweets. I visited after dinner and found the desserts to be enjoyable without feeling too heavy, even after a full meal. This is a recommended place for those who have a sweet tooth.

When it comes to desserts in Kyoto, this place is a must-visit. You need to make a reservation before visiting. There are seats for about 7 people. It is not a one-person operation, there are two girls working there. They use a variety of ingredients, I couldn't keep up with taking notes! 1st Dish: Combination of cauliflower and Hokkaido lily root seasoned with salt. Topped with kumquat lime, honey stevia, and kudzu. Warm and comforting. The lily root has a comforting texture. The salt level is just right. The sweetness of the kumquat stands out. The kudzu adds a nice thickness. 2nd Dish: Fuki-no-to granita with honey foam. Elegant citrus mousse. Light and refreshing. The citrus gives a slight tingling sensation. The bitterness of the citrus and fuki-no-to match well. 3rd Dish: Strawberry cream inside meringue, topped with fresh strawberries. They use Nara's ancient city flower. Below is strawberry mousse turned into ice cream. The top is shiso meringue with balsamic sauce and strawberry foam. Coconut oil is powdered. Very elaborate. The flavors are rich and the shiso and balsamic melt into the light mousse. The meringue is also good. The ancient city flower adds an elegant sweetness and aroma. 4th Dish: Kyoto's Tango Koshihikari rice with snow peas in a sauce made of kudzu. The new shoots of snow peas are warm and comforting. It's like eating traditional Japanese sweets. The rice has a core, so it really feels like risotto. 5th Dish: Blood orange with Kyoto's Kinsho carrot cheese foam, caramel ice cream, carrot cake. The carrot leaves are candied with cinnamon. The slight bitterness of the caramel is just right. The level of sweetness is very enjoyable. You can really taste the ingredients in the sweetness. The crispy outer layer is delicious. The carrot cake texture is a bit off for me. 6th Dish: Chocolate ganache with red wine, caramelized walnuts, chiffon, kumquat tuile, and chocolate foam. The chocolate chiffon is rich and melts in your mouth. The warm sauce has a hint of spice. It's not as warm as expected. Palate Cleanser: Tomato espuma with salt and olive oil powder. Avocado and basil leaves are also included. It disappears quickly and refreshes the palate. Small Sweets: There are so many! Burnt cream brulee with beni-haruka and a hint of charcoal. Spanish chocolate gateau chocolat with unsweetened whipped cream. Pistachio buttercream sandwich cookie with matcha. Lemon peel and cheese macaron. White miso financier and ginger madeleine. The ginger is nice and comforting. The white miso financier is delicious and has a mellow flavor. The cream is rich and the matcha and pistachio go well together. Overall, the dishes are well executed and delicious. The flavors make you appreciate the food even more. The main courses are impressive, but with so many dishes, there is a higher chance of encountering elements that may not suit personal preferences. The chef seems a bit shy. The course had a lot of citrus flavors, but also used spring ingredients which added an interesting touch. The balance of flavors is impressive. It's a shame that I don't live closer to this place!

Unfinished is a popular place where you can enjoy a full course of sweets. It was a bit hard to find as it is located inside a building. The name of the shop was not easy to spot. The seating is only at the counter. You start by ordering a drink. They make each dessert right in front of you, which is very enjoyable to watch. They serve desserts that match the season, starting with sweet ones and ending with refreshing ones, so you can enjoy eating until the end. Everything was delicious and impressive. The swan-shaped cream puff and the dessert made with edamame were all beautifully presented. The course costs 5000 yen, so I can't go often, but I highly recommend this place.

A great movie can move you every time you watch it, just like how this restaurant's dessert course never fails to exceed your expectations and bring you happiness. They transform vegetables, wild plants, and even seasonings into magical sweets that you wouldn't normally find in desserts. It's a place you'll want to visit every time the seasons change.

Dessert course for 4950 yen. Charge of 550 yen. Black tea for 720 yen. Total of 6220 yen. It was like a light afternoon tea with minimal flour-based items. The service was efficient, with everything prepared in front of us. It lasted exactly 1.5 hours. The desserts from the old capital and the freshly baked financiers were delicious. They were quite sweet, so it's perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

After a meal with a senior colleague, I decided to try out a dessert shop that I had been curious about. The atmosphere was a bit intimidating for a first-timer, and I stumbled right from ordering my first drink. I thought I could just casually order a coffee while looking at the menu, but to my surprise, there was no coffee listed. Feeling a bit lost, I decided to go with water. I found out it was a one-order system, so I couldn't change my drink later. Since I'm not a fan of alcohol, I opted for tea, but there were so many fragrant samples to choose from that I started to feel flustered. Eventually, I found one that I liked and placed my order. As the first dish was being prepared, I noticed that everything was done right in front of the counter, keeping me entertained and focused. Watching the chefs work so diligently made me feel more serious about the whole experience. On the other side, a lady was chatting away, enjoying her wine and dessert. I couldn't help but feel a bit out of place, but at the same time, I was quite intrigued by the whole scene. It was definitely a stimulating experience, even though I felt a bit out of my element.

The name of the restaurant, "Unfinished," is fitting as it never fails to bring new excitement with each visit, constantly evolving. Both the courses and parfaits are prepared with attention to detail in every component, showing respect for the pastry chef. Despite being sweet, the aftertaste is refreshing, making it a place where anyone can go without regret.

I wanted to visit this shop with my friend who loves sweets on Christmas Eve. The atmosphere was calm and cozy with only a counter seating arrangement. It's not often that you can enjoy sweets in such an atmosphere. We started by ordering drinks, and there were about 8 flavors of flavored tea to choose from, which made it quite difficult to decide. The course consisted of 9 dishes, but since there was no menu, I already forgot what was said as soon as I heard it. I wish they had provided a menu. The first three dishes were all citrus-based - yuzu, kinkan, and buntan with lemon. If there were more variety in the ingredients, it might have made a different impression. I think it's rare to find a shop that offers a 9-course sweets course, but I felt like there wasn't a standout main dish. Maybe reducing the number of dishes and including a clear main dish could be better. I was hoping to see some Christmas-themed dishes since it was Christmas Eve, but unfortunately, there were none. Considering the quality for the price of 3500 yen, I think it's amazing. I would like to visit again in a different season to see if the experience changes.

I enjoyed a refined dining experience at a dessert specialty store that reminded me of a Japanese restaurant. For 3500 yen, I was able to enjoy 9 beautifully presented desserts. Each dish showed a dedication to using fresh ingredients, without resorting to frozen store-bought products. I was impressed by the attention to detail in each dish. To top it off, I even received a souvenir at the end of the meal. I will definitely visit this place again when I go back to Kyoto.

I finally made it to the restaurant after missing the opportunity due to exhibitions and holidays. It was their 3rd anniversary, so it must have been over 3 years since I first heard about it. Normally, there are assistant staff as well, but on this day, it was a one-person operation. The drinks seemed to have a lot of attention to detail, which only added to the busyness, making it feel almost embarrassing to order. They have a one-drink policy. The flavored teas allow you to actually smell the aroma from bottles before choosing, which was fun. I ended up ordering two drinks, and both were delicious. They serve around 10 dishes, but on this day, it was 9 dishes. They mentioned it was a French course with 6 dishes, but it actually included the coffee and tea after the meal, which is not uncommon in some restaurants. However, this place really served 9 dishes, and even included a souvenir. Considering the multiple mini-desserts towards the end, it was practically like having 15 dishes. Amazing volume! They mentioned they don't particularly stick to a Japanese theme, but all the dishes had a hint of Japanese taste, using domestically produced fruits. I really appreciated this concept. However, with the high number of dishes, there were some that seemed more carefully made than others. I thought they could reduce the number of dishes a bit more, but if this is what makes them unique, then there's no point in complaining. I doubt there is a dessert course with more dishes than here. The dishes included: 1. Yuzu baba (yuzu syrup instead of alcohol, with shiso as an accent) 2. Yogurt-flavored crème brûlée 3. Tarte Tatin 4. Vanilla bean cookie with kumquat sauce and Setouchi lemon meringue 5. Matcha confectionery with light snow salt 6. Cream confection similar to choux pastry with matcha chiffon cake 7. Avocado cream and tomato espuma swan-shaped choux cream 8. Assorted mini desserts: cheesecake, raisin butter sandwich, brownie 9. Assorted mini desserts: white miso financiers, madeleines, and a souvenir of baked goods.
