Tempura Maki's tempura rice bowl specialty shop. If you enter from the back of the same shop, it becomes a counter seat tempura rice bowl restaurant. About 90% of the customers are foreign tourists. Due to the high cost of living and catering to inbound tourists, the cheapest tempura rice bowl is priced at 1,400 yen. The tempura is fried well and crispy, with a generous amount of sauce on the rice. It is served hot with tea poured over it, allowing you to enjoy it until the end without getting tired of it.

I often see tempura maki, but I didn't know they also have set meals and tempura bowls. The set meal section had a long line (around 30 people maybe), so I ended up going to the tempura bowl section where I could be seated right away. The atmosphere is nice, the food looks good in photos, and it tastes delicious. However, I felt it was a bit pricey compared to the set meal section. It seems like they are targeting foreign tourists. It might be a bit difficult for Japanese salarymen's wallets. Lastly, they offered me tai chazuke with the leftover rice, and it was delicious when I tried it!

Tempura Maki no San is often seen in Osaka recently. It's great to be able to eat freshly fried tempura at a reasonable price. I discovered a tempura bowl specialty shop behind Maki no San in Sennichimae. My wife and I visited the shop. We visited around 2 pm after finishing watching a movie, and there were still about 5 customers waiting outside. However, we were able to enter the shop in about 10 minutes. The shop is bright and clean with a wood-based design. There are many foreign customers as well. We ordered the recommended "Tempura Bowl Ro" with added miso soup. The tempura bowl ingredients include the usual shrimp, large conger eel, squid and vegetable tempura, shishito pepper, and egg. The tempura bowl that came out was vibrant and photogenic. First, I tried the shishito pepper. The slightly bitter taste refreshes the oiliness of the tempura. Next, the shrimp stands out with its sweetness. The large conger eel looks voluminous. Overall, I felt that the taste was a bit heavy, with the oil flavor being a bit noticeable. It may be due to my physical condition, but... Also, the sight of the resting staff members visible in the shop and the slightly lax customer service, which is not related to the taste but is unfortunate. The evaluation of a restaurant is not determined by taste alone, so I hope to have high expectations until my next visit. The cost performance is excellent, making it a good place to enjoy tempura casually.

I often see tempura set meal restaurants, but I had never seen a tempura bowl specialty restaurant, so I decided to try it out. The menu offers different grades, mainly consisting of shrimp tempura bowls in four varieties. This time, I ordered the largest size. It cost around 1400 yen. Hmm... it was just okay. The quality of the tempura depends a lot on the skill of the chef who fries it, but the frying was not quite right. The mixed vegetable tempura seemed a bit undercooked, and the enoki mushroom tempura had lost so much moisture that it was hard to tell what you were eating. Honestly, I can't imagine these ultra-thin enoki mushrooms being tasty as tempura, but I understand that it's not easy to train tempura chefs. However, I would appreciate it if they could review their frying manual a bit more carefully.

There was a tempura rice bowl specialty restaurant behind Maki, which I didn't notice until now. They have a variety of tempura rice bowls, and it was my first time at a tempura specialty restaurant. I ordered the "Ro" assorted tempura rice bowl. The squid and scallop tempura were really delicious. I wonder if they changed the oil or if they fried it longer this time? Overall, the tempura had some color instead of being just white. The anago (eel) and shrimp, which are usually the stars, didn't impress me as much. The price is reasonable, including the tourist area markup, at around 1400 yen with miso soup. Overall, I would rate it 2.8, but because the squid and scallop were so tasty, I'll give it a 3.0.

After watching a movie at Marui, I stumbled upon a clean Japanese restaurant with a lively atmosphere. Feeling a bit nervous, I decided to enter. The menu mainly consisted of tempura rice bowls, with interestingly labeled options such as "Regular", "Large", and "Extra Large" being replaced by "Iro", "Ro", and "Ha". I sat at the counter and eagerly awaited the freshly fried tempura. The tempura rice bowl arrived steaming hot, with a perfectly cooked egg tempura overflowing with creamy yolk. The chewy squid, shrimp, and plentiful eel tempura added to the deliciousness. There's no way this meal could be anything but delicious!!! I will definitely come back again!

It has a casual atmosphere, making it easy for customers to enjoy a tempura meal. The restaurant has a glass front, making it easy to see inside from outside. The menu includes various tempura rice bowls, displayed outside to attract customers. Inside, there are counter and table seats, with all female staff preparing and serving the tempura. I ordered the recommended "Tendon Ro" set meal for 1285 yen. The tempura rice bowl had a generous serving of tempura, including conger eel, prawn, mixed tempura of squid and shimeji mushrooms, egg, seaweed, green pepper, and enoki mushrooms. The tempura was flavorful, and the sauce was slightly sweet but not heavy. Overall, a pleasant and satisfying dining experience at this specialized tempura rice bowl restaurant.

Tempura Set Meal Makino's was divided into a separate Tempura Bowl restaurant. I thought it would be a more casual branch of Makino's, but it turned out to be surprisingly elaborate and delicious, with slightly higher prices. The tempura is fried in sesame oil, giving it a fragrant and delicious flavor. While it may seem similar to the tempura at Marugame Seimen, it is actually different and quite tasty. The sauce drizzled on top is slightly sweet, which I like. The presentation is also good, with the bowl having a raised bottom for a nice visual effect. The Tempura Bowl restaurant offers options for extra large servings and miso soup for an additional 100 yen each. The adjacent tempura restaurant offers all-you-can-eat rice and includes miso soup, making it a better value compared to Tempura Set Meal Makino's. Although slightly pricier, I would personally choose the Tempura Bowl here. Whether you go for the set meal or the tempura bowl, being able to enjoy freshly fried tempura for just a little over 1000 yen is truly appreciated.

I tried the tempura restaurant called "Ten-don Maki no San" in Sen-nichi-mae. I ordered the tempura bowl for 1390 yen, which came with large conger eel, two prawns, squid and small fish tempura, egg, seaweed, green pepper, and smelt fish. The miso soup was an additional 100 yen. The tempura was cooked right in front of me at the counter, and it looked very authentic. The staff asked if I knew how to eat it, and they advised me to add black condiments to the half-cooked egg on top of the bowl. The sauce was slightly sweet, and I felt a bit heavy after eating it. However, there was a mistake with the order, and I only received one prawn instead of two. They quickly brought out the missing prawn and smelt fish, which were delicious as they were freshly fried. It seems like the other side of the restaurant, which specializes in tempura, is more popular. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I suddenly felt like eating tendon. Have you ever felt that way? So I looked up tendon and found this restaurant! It looked delicious, and I was hungry, so I decided to go there. When the tendon bowl arrived, the miso soup was not included. I started eating, and noticed that the young staff were frying the tempura. I thought it would be tastier if the old man with white hair was frying it. The tendon bowl arrived with a big splash! Just what I was waiting for! It was topped with plenty of sauce and had a crispy texture. The half-cooked egg tempura is my favorite. The anago (conger eel) was also big! One common thing about tendon bowls is that they are so big that you get full halfway through. Is it just me? How about you? It was delicious! I will definitely go back (^ ^)

I later found out that it had opened on January 18th. - Tempura Bowl <A> + Miso Soup (1,098 yen) Starting with the most affordable option, the miso soup is not included, so you need to order it separately. The overflowing volume of tempura on the bowl is impressive. The tempura includes shrimp, squid, egg, seaweed, green pepper, and kisu. The use of sesame oil adds a fragrant touch. Adding the black condiment provided enhances the flavor even more. The seaweed miso soup and pickles help refresh your palate. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Nearby, a beef cutlet restaurant was still very popular among foreign tourists, with a long line forming. Let's strive on our way there and leave with no regrets.
