This was my first time trying Mizutaki! In the evening in Hakata, I indulged in a luxurious course meal... Every dish was so delicious! I also got to try sesame amberjack here. They made a soup-like dish using the broth from the Mizutaki, which was also delicious. I love the Nishikyo-yaki (grilled fish marinated in miso) here, it's healthy and tasty... I thought Hakata has a lot of delicious food, and this restaurant was one of them. Until then, I had a negative image of Mizutaki and avoided eating it, but I regret not trying it sooner. The broth is just amazing.

The highball and mentaiko are so good that you can never get enough. The crispy fried cartilage and Mizutaki fried chicken have a strong flavor that is addictive. We even had Champon for dessert and our stomachs were about to burst from all the delicious food. It was so good.

They offer reliable quality in both their dishes and service, providing a pleasant dining experience. You can enjoy Mizutaki elegantly and deliciously without any worries. Their side dishes and small plates, aside from Mizutaki, also have a homemade taste that is truly delicious. With branches in Tokyo as well, it's a perfect place to experience the Hakata atmosphere.

My son insisted that when you think of Fukuoka, it's all about "mizutaki" (chicken hot pot), so we were treated to a meal without hesitation (laughs). Since my son has visited this restaurant with guests a few times before, he seemed to know his way around. We started by ordering a smaller course menu, and then he suggested that it's better to order additional items separately if we need more! The "Hanamidori" in the restaurant's name refers to a type of chicken from northern Kyushu that is raised freely under the sun, which is why the chicken meat is highly praised for its delicious taste. We had made a reservation, so the dishes arrived promptly. For the appetizer, we had "okyuto" and simmered tori daikon. Okyuto is a local dish from Fukuoka made with a konjac-like seaweed with a unique texture, mixed with Moro miso. We also had Hanamidori's raw ham and tori tataki. The raw ham had a perfect saltiness and a mild, firm texture, while the smoked chicken tataki (served with yuzu pepper) had a smoky flavor and rich meatiness. Perfect with a dry shochu! The highlight was the Hanamidori mizutaki, which is different from regular mizutaki as it includes bone-in chicken pieces, creating a rich, cloudy soup. Before adding the ingredients, they instructed us to "please try the soup first." The soup was so confident in its taste! Once it boiled, the chef added minced chicken, liver, and heart. After adding collagen balls, the soup became even more creamy. We then added vegetables and shirataki noodles, and enjoyed the delicious chicken while adjusting the flavor with ponzu and condiments. For the finale, we chose to add white rice to the remaining soup, along with beaten eggs. Eating the homemade spicy cod roe pickles with pickled radish and dried seaweed with the rice was a comforting and warming experience. It was my first time enjoying authentic Hakata mizutaki, and it was a delightful experience.

The course at the restaurant cost around 9000 yen for 5 drinks. The elegant water hot pot course was enjoyable, with plenty of appetizers and other dishes. The drink menu was extensive, with many local sake options from Fukuoka. It tends to be crowded, so make a reservation early. It's a chain restaurant, so make sure you go to the correct location.

The taste and service were good. The hot pot on a cold day was amazing. However, the cigarette smoke from the next table was bothersome. I later found out it was a smoking-permitted establishment. I will choose a non-smoking restaurant next time.

I made a last-minute reservation for a Fukuoka expedition at 2:00 PM on the same day, and luckily got an OK for a table from 5:00 to 6:30 PM! I went to Hanamidori, which was close to my hotel. When I arrived five minutes early, the landlady came out. I quickly ordered the Mizutaki (chicken hot pot) for two that I had reserved over the phone. The Mizutaki arrived promptly. I toasted with beer and oolong tea while the pot simmered. The waitress came and cooked the hot pot for us. She had a lovely smile and we chatted while she cooked. The collagen soup with salt and asatsuki was refreshing and delicious. The bone-in chicken pieces were a bit hard to eat because of the bones, but the tsukune (chicken meatballs) were fluffy and tasty. The ponzu sauce was also delicious. The other cuts of chicken were also tasty. Thank you for the meal.

This is the West Nakasu branch of the sukiyaki restaurant run by the Fukuoka butcher shop "Torizen". This time, it was a dinner party of Fukuoka hairdresser friends who gather once a month, so the organizer, who is also my senior, asked the owner here to arrange a seat for us with a 5000 yen course including all-you-can-drink. The first appetizer was simmered chicken liver and spicy miso. The first small dish was a assorted plate of chicken sashimi, which can only be enjoyed with fresh chicken. I enjoyed it with yuzu pepper. While enjoying the soup, delicious chicken meat was cooked. After taking the soup, minced meat was added, followed by heart, liver, boneless meat, and vegetables. Finally, I had it made into ojiya and enjoyed it. By the way, it's also delicious to finish with champon, and pickles like mentaiko and takana are included.

For the finishing touch, I chose the zosui (rice porridge) option, which had a gentle flavor and left me fully satisfied.

On this day, my companion suddenly wanted to eat chicken, so we changed our plans from Italian to a different place and called to make a reservation. My companion was picky, saying they wanted chicken but didn't want hot pot. However, they insisted on ordering a hot pot for one person. We ordered fried chicken cartilage (which was delicious), a platter of chicken sashimi, and a hot pot for one person. The most disappointing part was the service attitude. There were also some young female servers, but if I were to go into detail it would be too long. Their condescending tone and lack of cleanliness made me want to say something at the end, but I managed to hold back. I question their training.
