From the bus stop at Tsukamoto Station North Exit, head north and turn left at the end of the road to find Horie Sake Store. It is run by a couple and they do not have a price list, but the barley shochu hot water I was drinking was 280 yen. Plus, they offer free pickled plums which go perfectly with the drink. You can get more pickled plums every time you order, and just one plum can last you through multiple drinks. I forgot the brand of the barley shochu, but it is a delicious authentic shochu. The place was bustling with regular salarymen. I had 3 glasses of shochu and grilled mackerel for a total of 1140 yen. I would love to come back when I'm in the area again.
