Waiting outside with 5 people at 12:10... Two of them turned out to be just smoking (I'm always amazed at the lack of manners and common sense of people from Kansai... I might get scolded by Kansai people for saying this). The remaining 3 people were also fuming. A group of 4 people who arrived later... had a reservation! Entered at 12:30, had the 2nd floor special pork cutlet lunch for ¥1000 with 9 pieces of cabbage. Had seconds of cabbage and miso soup today. By the way, a mixed lunch menu was introduced. I arrived at around 11:30 on Saturday and there was only one group of customers already there. They offer a lunch for 1,000 yen on weekdays, but on Saturdays the cheapest lunch is 2,000 yen. It may be a luxurious lunch for an old man like me, but the low-temperature cooked tonkatsu was incredibly delicious! There were various condiments available, but I felt that salt brought out the flavor and juiciness of the meat the best. This tonkatsu is a bit luxurious, but I think it's worth visiting at least once!

I entered the restaurant after 1:00 PM. There was no wait time and the restaurant had about 5 people inside. I ordered the TOKYO X 150g and it was served in about 15 minutes. The plate had miso, salt, olive oil, etc. just like the Yonshichi branch, but in the end, they only put salt on it. I think this restaurant is good for enjoying any kind of meat.

Although I initially thought there was only seating on the first floor, I was pleasantly surprised to find table seating available on the second floor as well. Visiting on a weekday at 11:15 am, the first floor was fully occupied, so we were directed to a table on the second floor. I ordered the new mixed lunch while my companion ordered the cutlet lunch due to the crowded conditions. The food arrived 24 minutes after ordering, and we both said "Let's eat." The meal consisted of 5 pieces of cutlet and 1 minced cutlet. I found the minced cutlet, with its light sweetness, to be more enjoyable than the fatty cutlet. After finishing our meal, we said "Thank you for the meal."

I had previously visited a popular tonkatsu restaurant in Yatamachi 4-chome, but I discovered their Higobashi branch and decided to visit. It turns out that they have already expanded to several locations within Osaka city, offering more than just tonkatsu. When I visited the Yatamachi branch, I thought it was the type of place that was rooted in the local community, but it seems quite different. Perhaps they have a consultant or producer behind the scenes. Anyway, I visited for lunch and ordered the lunch limited "Heta Katsu". The default comes with 6 bite-sized katsu, but they mentioned that you can add up to 9 pieces, so I went for the maximum. At a price of 1,000 yen and using brand pork, it's quite a good deal. The katsu served was indeed bite-sized. The shape may not be perfect but it was tender, with little fat content making it more like a lean cut. The quality of the meat was good, and it was quite delicious. The thick and crispy coating was slightly lacking, but considering the price and quality, I was quite satisfied. Especially with the recent inflation of tonkatsu restaurants, it's nice to find a place that offers good quality at an affordable price.

Had lunch at New Bayve in Higo Bridge. I was thinking of getting the expensive tonkatsu, but decided to go with their recommended dish, the Hetakatsu. It was small but satisfying, and went well with the rice. It's a bit fatty, so if you prefer something lighter, you might want to go with the fillet instead. Otherwise, I recommend the Hetakatsu!

Next to it is a yakitori restaurant that hosted a welcome party for new employees last month. They sell various types of pork from different regions based on breed, cut, and weight. The prices range from 1,900 yen to 3,700 yen. For those on a budget, they offer a special lunch menu called "Hetakatsu" for 1,000 yen. It consists of small pieces of fried pork from the various pork breeds they offer. The portion may be small, but the variety of cuts makes it interesting. The tonkatsu was delicious, and the pork soup was especially tasty. Overall, it was a satisfying meal for the price.
