As for food, I ordered a lot since I was hungry: the Ikyu simmered mega chicken, giga pork steak, and legendary grilled chicken wings. It was quite a feast for two people, especially since we ended up ordering all meat dishes. The membership card costs 324 yen to make and 108 yen to renew, but it's worth it for the discounts. However, I sometimes forget to use it before it expires. Despite that, the prices are reasonable, and the Thursday special for working folks offers half-price drinks and food, so I might go back soon. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

It seems that "Ikkyu" has a long history as a chain restaurant, developed from the suburban areas west of the 23 wards of Tokyo. It has now expanded to the 23 wards, and this shop in Shinjuku Kabukicho opened in December 2012. It had been a long time since I entered Kabukicho. Many restaurants line both sides of the street, and in front of me, a tall building for the new Komageki theater is under construction. The building where this shop is located is across from the new building. You take the elevator to get to the shop. By the way, there is also an Izakaya Ikkyu on the 2nd floor, but this time I am heading to Yakitori Ikkyu on the 3rd floor. When I got off the elevator on the 3rd floor, there was a sign in front of me that said "Yakitori Ikkyu". As soon as I entered the shop, a staff member came and guided me to my seat. The interior of the restaurant has 4-person box seats. You only see the team across the aisle. It's lovely. We had 2 draft beers, 2 double lemon sours, 1 green tea highball, 1 oolong highball, and 2 highballs. For food, we ordered a large grilled mackerel, half portion of chicken tempura, half portion of grilled sardines, 8 types of grilled chicken skewers, and a pickled vegetable assortment. The food is probably tastier than your average chain restaurant. Well, it's not incredibly delicious, but it's good. We drank and ate so much, and the total bill was only 4,500 yen (including tax). Yakitori Ikkyu☆ I remember visiting this place when I was in Kabukicho before, located inside the building of Yakiniku Jyuban. One interesting thing about this restaurant is that they suddenly start a bingo game! If you win bingo early, you can get some special benefits. The variety of dishes here is quite extensive, making it hard to decide what to eat first. Although the name suggests a yakitori place, they also have a wide range of other menu items.
