There are more than just rice! Along Route 3 in Hakozaki, there is "Komeichi Kometo". I thought it was just a rice shop, but it's more than that. In addition to rice, they also sell processed products like retort curry and mentaiko that go well with rice. I tried the Ishigaki beef curry, but it didn't have much meat. They also have the local specialty of Kitakyushu, nuka-dzuki, with soft bones. They also sell xiaolongbao at the counter, and there are plenty of rice from Kumamoto with Kumamon. I thought it was very Kumamoto-like, but it turns out it's run by a company from Yama ga. I wish it would become more like a rice theme park.
