It was delicious! I will go again!

It's a hidden gem of a restaurant tucked away a little off the beaten path, but I have visited it several times. When you enter the restaurant, you are handed a menu with recommended dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients for that day. You'll notice dishes featuring sashimi and other seafood, as well as nostalgic flavors that are meticulously prepared and would be difficult to replicate at home. While the menu mainly focuses on Japanese cuisine, surprisingly, dishes like tonkatsu are also delicious (laughs). So far, I haven't had a bad dish. The portion sizes are just right for each dish. Lastly, I highly recommend the kama-meshi (rice cooked in an iron pot) (the ingredients for this dish vary depending on the season, such as eel or saury). When you lift the lid, a wonderful aroma wafts out. Then you enjoy the rice with plenty of ingredients mixed in, along with pickles and miso soup on the side, which is a delightful way to finish the meal. They have a decent selection of alcohol as well. It's a great place to relax and have a leisurely conversation with close friends.

A hidden gem in Onohara Higashi, this cozy restaurant offers a menu and flavors reminiscent of a traditional Japanese restaurant, but with a casual izakaya-like atmosphere that is perfect for families. With three 2-4 person tables and a small L-shaped counter, this place is perfect for a relaxing meal. On a scorching evening, stepping into the restaurant and enjoying a refreshing Ebisu beer while listening to jazz music sets the perfect mood. The summer vegetable assortment that followed was delightful, with chilled peeled tomatoes, eggplants, and daikon radish perfectly seasoned. The soy sauce grilled octopus that came next was a hit, with the charcoal-grilled pieces soaked in a flavorful sauce. And even though I usually don't drink chu-hi, the fruit-infused chu-hi at this place was so delicious that I couldn't stop. Despite its small size, the restaurant offers a wide variety of seasonal and classic dishes, as well as a great selection of drinks. Located near JICA, the Foreign Ministry's official residence, and international schools, Onohara is a vibrant neighborhood with a diverse community. With the recent popularity of Deli Chews and new housing developments, the area has become livelier. This restaurant is a must-visit in the area.

It feels like a small restaurant that has upgraded from an izakaya. You can enjoy food in a casual, quiet, and homely atmosphere while drinking. It's a flexible place where families and individuals can easily visit. The staff are friendly, the interior is clean, and it's recommended for a pleasant experience!
