I'm in Osaka. In Osaka, there is Minami with Shinsaibashi and Amerikamura. Turn south at the corner of Harie-san on Daiboji Street, and you'll find this shop right away along Okurabashi-suji. It's been quite a while, maybe about 5-6 years since my last visit. Even back then, the interior of the shop felt quite worn out, but now it feels even more worn out with the passage of time. Whether you perceive this as adding to the charm or as a negative is probably based on individual sensibilities, I suppose? This time, I felt it as a negative. I was seated at an empty table and ordered the usual double espresso. The espresso served in about 4-5 minutes was rich in acidity, bitterness, and had a good temperature, making me very satisfied to have a espresso that I liked after a long time. The shop's style of leaving you alone is still the same, and I still like this free-spirited atmosphere. However, it feels a bit too cluttered. Despite complaining, once I start going, I might end up visiting this place frequently...

I was walking from Shinmachi to Daimaru, aiming for it on foot instead of taking a taxi, which would have been tiring. I decided to pass through Amerikamura, it's been a while! I wanted to have some tea and take a break. I even thought about picking up some litter to make Amerikamura a more comfortable place. I asked the owners for a place to have a break and they recommended a nice café. I sat in the smoking area at the entrance, ordered a straight coffee, and it was delicious! The café was great and the owner or manager was kind and helpful. I'm not sure what kind of café it was, but I definitely want to come back. It was a wonderful place! ❤️

After work, I decided to stop by a shop I happened to find, assuming I would do another job before heading home. The place was located next to "Hariju" in the same building. It was around 6:30 pm, and the entrance was open with outdoor seating available. Although it might have been by chance, there were two male customers dining alone, and the shop had good COVID-19 measures in place. The shop had an old American style in both its exterior and interior. The bearded male waiter who was running the shop alone also fit the atmosphere. Since work was my main focus, I didn't pay much attention, but I ordered an "Iced Cafe Latte" for 499 yen. I drank it in the shop, and it was served in a plastic container. Whether that's good or bad is up to personal preference. I stayed for about an hour, and the quiet atmosphere with subtle music allowed me to concentrate. It seems like a good place to relax alone when tired of the hustle and bustle of Amerikamura. Thank you for the meal.

I had an early and light lunch and then headed to Shinsaibashi. I had plenty of time, so I decided to take a stroll in Amerikamura and came across "Banco". I've been here a few times before. I'm a sucker for illy coffee. I always believe their cappuccino must be delicious! The cafe has a vintage feel but is somehow stylish, making it a relaxing spot for those tired from shopping in Amerikamura. I ordered my usual cappuccino and my favorite gâteau au chocolat. The cappuccino came in a paper cup, which was a bit disappointing. Why put it in a paper cup when it's not for takeout? But the taste was indeed great, thanks to illy. The gâteau au chocolat was rich and delicious with whipped cream on top. It was a satisfying treat! If they stop using paper cups, I might come back again. I had a delicious latte. It could have had a bit more milk, but the coffee aroma was great. The cake was homemade. The dishes also smelled delicious (I only had the cake, but the aroma was so good that I ended up adding the pork stew for lunch).

It's a pretty old shop, so I wonder if it's quite popular? I visited for the first time after lunch for tea time. It was still lunch time, and next to us, girls were enjoying a hearty sandwich. We opted for the dessert menu. The cheesecake came with whipped cream, and it was a crispy crust with a moist and smooth cheesecake. Delicious! I also tried a bit of my friend's tiramisu, and the mascarpone was fluffy with a perfect balance of coffee bitterness and sweetness. It was a lovely cafe. Thank you for the meal!

I visited "BANCO" in Shinsaibashi. As I passed by the front of the store, I heard a cheerful voice from inside saying, "Good evening! Please come in!" This reminded me of a previous encounter where they greeted me as well. The two male staff members were very kind and polite. The interior of the restaurant had a cool atmosphere with red and dark brown colors, and the spacious seating added to the relaxing ambiance. They served a cold short pasta as a complimentary appetizer, which I appreciated as a pasta lover. I ordered the White Sauce Doria, which was topped with chunks of potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and plenty of cheese. Despite the compact appearance of the dish, it was quite filling. I also tried the Italian-style Chicken, Basil, and Tomato Gyoza, which had a healthy and tasty chicken meatball-like texture. The tomato acidity added a nice flavor, and the three sauce options (basil oil, curry powder, ponzu) were interesting. Lastly, I enjoyed a delicious Hot Chocolate made with Van Houten chocolate. The total bill, including the appetizer, came to 2008 yen. BANCO offers a variety of latte options and seems to take pride in their drinks. It's a great place for both coffee and dining. More on the north side of America-mura. There's a shop on the corner next to Hariju-san. When I feel like having a leisurely coffee around America-mura, this place is my favorite. But I might end up drinking more beer during the day than coffee??? And then, coffee as a finisher after beer. I'll have a double shot of espresso brewed hot. The strong, well-roasted coffee helps me regain my composure after lounging around with beer, and I feel like getting back to work again... or not, who knows? Just be careful not to drink too much beer since there's no restroom in the shop. If you ask the staff, they'll tell you where you can use a nearby restroom.

During Silver Week, I strolled around Shinsaibashi. For lunch, I went to Banco-san! The shop is a cool bar. Although it's a cafe during lunch hours, it doesn't feel like a typical cafe. The atmosphere is sophisticated and nice! Today I had the pork stew set. I paid a little extra for a fruit smoothie as my drink. My friend had the tuna sandwich set. The food was delicious! The stew had tender, flavorful meat that went well with the rich stew. It's not like a fancy restaurant, but I like the homemade feel of the place. The smoothie was more like a juice, but it was easy to drink and tasty. I tried some of my friend's sandwich, and it was also delicious. This is a story from when I came to Osaka for work. I was recommended a restaurant by a certain vendor as a place with delicious pasta. Feeling Italian, I headed there, only to find out that they no longer serve pasta! Darn it! Undeterred, I ordered the chicken. I could choose between daikon radish and tartar sauce, so I chose tartar. This place is not just any door! It's super stylish. The interior is just like a bar. In my younger days, I aspired to run a bar, and this place's interior made me think that I'd like to run a bar like this. The plates were also very fancy. And the food was all homemade! Even the salad dressing and tartar sauce were homemade. I believe there's nothing better than homemade, so I could feel the restaurant's dedication in this one dish! They also had pizza, so I'd like to try it next time.
