This is a cottage-style private room where you can enjoy local chicken and drinks without worrying about the surroundings. In the past, there used to be a lot of local chicken and chicken sashimi, but now, probably due to the increase in ingredient costs, the liver sashimi is no longer available and the quantity has decreased slightly. However, the chicken rice ball here is exquisite.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy local chicken dishes in individual cottage rooms. The course starts from 4000 yen and includes chicken sashimi, grilled vegetables, grilled chicken, Kashiwa rice balls, and garlic chive omelette as a set. You can grill the food yourself in a self-service style. Located in the mountains, each cottage is separate so you can enjoy without worrying about disturbing others. It is recommended for large groups or families.

"Fukuoka's Sacred Island" A 1 night, 2 day trip exploring Munakata and Okinoshima and related heritage sites. For lunch on the second day, we headed to a secluded location in the mountains of Munakata City, which seemed inaccessible without a car. We were amazed as the bus navigated through narrow roads. The restaurant was by reservation only, with 4 handmade log houses available for private dining. Located on a hill, we could see the sea and Oshima Island. Despite the wintry atmosphere, it must be beautiful with greenery in spring. Lunch was served on low tables, and drinks were self-service from the fridge. The menu offered three choices: "Chicken Sukiyaki," "Mizutaki," and "Ishiyaki." We chose the Chicken Sukiyaki, which included chicken thigh, breast, and liver. The freshness and lack of any chicken odor were surprising, making it a whole new experience compared to city restaurants. The meat was tender, and the vegetables abundant. The simple yet delicious flavors were enhanced by dipping the meat in raw egg. The rice cooked in chicken broth was also irresistible. The meal concluded with a generous serving of udon, offering incredible value for money at 3,500 yen per person. We wished we could have taken home some of the delicious kashiwa-meshi rice balls."

I have tried the stone-grilled course in the summer before, but this winter we tried the hot pot here, which requires a complete reservation for a minimum of four people. You can only choose between stone-grilled, sukiyaki, or hot pot, making it quite a high hurdle to dine here. The biggest challenge is the location - you definitely need a car! This time, we gathered four people, including one who doesn't drink alcohol. We reserved the hot pot course for ¥3500 (excluding tax) and visited the restaurant. Each group gets a cottage to themselves, and you can see the details on their website. All courses come with chicken sashimi and kashiwa onigiri, which are delicious! The cottage is equipped with a refrigerator, a kettle, and drinks set up for self-service. The chicken sashimi was fresh and tasty, with different textures and flavors. The hot pot was made with a light chicken broth, and the minced chicken was delicious when cooked in the pot. We added vegetables and even finished the champon noodles at the end. Everyone loved the kashiwa onigiri, and it disappeared quickly. Since it's a private cottage, you can relax and enjoy without worrying about others around you. It's a hidden gem of a restaurant!
