The other day, I participated in a JR Kyushu Walking event starting from Hizen-Kashima Station and ended up returning to Hakata without having lunch at the intended destination of Hizen-Hama Station. While wandering around the station area looking for a late lunch spot, I stumbled upon a restaurant that caught my eye. It was called "Suri Ganesh," an Indian curry restaurant that has been open since 2012, offering Nepalese cuisine courses in the evening. I decided to try their "Nepal Set" which includes two types of curry, rice, and various side dishes on one plate for 1050 yen (tax included). Before the meal arrived, I ordered a draft beer (500 yen for a medium-sized glass, tax included), which surprisingly was served in a Black Nikka glass. The staff all seemed to be native speakers, conversing in their language inside the restaurant. The background music playing was probably from their culture as well, creating a relaxed atmosphere. When the food arrived, I was served two types of curry - mutton curry and bean curry. The mutton curry was spicy but not overly intense, tailored to suit Japanese taste buds. The bean curry, on the other hand, was quite mild, possibly due to the beans. Instead of Japanese rice, they used long-grain Indica rice, enhancing the authenticity of the meal. Mixing and matching the curries and side dishes created various flavor combinations, making the dining experience interesting. This style of serving multiple curries and sides on one plate seemed to be the origin of the concept adopted by many Japanese curry restaurants. Although I unexpectedly stumbled upon this restaurant, I found it very intriguing and would love to visit again in the evening.

I ordered a curry set for 770 yen and upgraded to cheese naan for an additional 150 yen, making it 920 yen in total. [Naan] Sweetness: 2/5 Texture: 2/5 Fluffiness: 2/5 Egginess: 1/5 Size of cheese naan: 2/5 Stretchiness and softness of cheese: 3/5 Amount of cheese: 2/5 Sugar/Honey: None Free refills for naan and rice The naan is baked without being stretched too much, but lacks fluffiness and feels a bit dense. The cheese is tasty but there isn't much of it. [Curry] I ordered the chicken curry spicy, and it turned out quite spicy. It had a thin consistency and included two small pieces of chicken. [Salad] The dressing didn't suit my taste. [Ratings breakdown] Taste: 3 Portion size: 3.5 Value for money: 3.5 Customer service: 3.5 Atmosphere: 3.5

[Ordered Dish] Curry set (Chicken curry, spicy, 770 yen) with cheese naan for an additional 150 yen, total of 920 yen. [Naan] Sweetness: 2/5, Chewiness: 3/5, Fluffiness: 3/5, Size: 2.5/5, Cheese stretchiness: 3/5, Cheese amount: 4/5, No sugar or honey. Free refills for naan and rice. [Curry] Light and not too spicy even though it's labeled as spicy. [Price] Lunch starts at 770 yen, dinner also starts at 770 yen. [Ratings breakdown] Taste: 3.5, Portion size: 3.5, Value for money: 3.5, Service: 3.5, Ambiance: 3.5. Some places increase prices for dinner, but here you can eat at the same price for lunch. The salad dressing was spicy, probably from the onions. The cheese naan was slightly smaller than expected.

I had some business in Hakata and thought about going to the Mongolian restaurant [Ordos-ke] for some ethnic food, but since I would only be able to eat 1-2 dishes alone, I decided to save that for another day and go to a Nepalese restaurant instead. I had heard about [Suri Ganesh] from a review by a fellow diner, so I was curious to try it out. It's about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, across from a Seven-Eleven. The restaurant had a few Nepalese customers and some delivery drivers coming in and out. I ordered the Thali Set which included Dal, Mutton Curry, Achaar, Chutney, Papad, and Rice. The Dal was tasty and not too spicy, while the Mutton Curry had a unique Nepalese flavor. The Achaar was a tangy radish pickle and the Chutney was a spicy paste. The rice was served with Papad on top, which added a nice crunch. Overall, the meal was satisfying, but I felt the flavors were a bit lacking. The friendly Nepalese waitress recommended the Thali Set over the Dal Bhat, which I appreciated. I would like to come back to try more dishes in the future. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, with the waitress singing as she cleaned the tables.

I went to try the spinach curry at My Mode. The selection at this Seven Eleven Dekimachi-dori store is always good, so I end up coming here instead of the closest Seven Eleven to my house. I finally had the chance to visit this mysterious shop across the street. There were only a few customers, making it easy for even a solo diner to enter. I ordered Set A: - Choice of curry (spinach with paneer) - Salad - Naan - Papad - Choice of drink (lassi) There were two spinach curries available: with paneer or with potatoes. I chose the one with paneer, which I learned is cheese when I looked it up. Of course, cheese! I ordered the normal spiciness level, but it tasted sweeter than expected. The sweetness was similar to that of spinach. It's a bit too sweet for my taste as I prefer something spicier to go with my drink. The cheese was not the stringy kind that melts, but rather had a slightly firm texture, adding a nice touch to the dish. The naan was generously buttered and quite large. I was happy to see the crispy papad on top. On my way out, an Asian family entered the restaurant. It seems like this place is frequented by residents from various foreign countries. I wonder what level of spiciness they prefer for their spinach curry. Thank you for the meal. The way spices enhance the flavors makes me want to visit again.

I went to lunch with my colleagues at a restaurant they always go to and invited me. I had the shrimp butter curry. Surprisingly, it had butter directly in it, haha. The naan was huge! It was my first time trying it, so when I asked for normal spiciness, it wasn't spicy at all.

On a Sunday afternoon, two of us visited the restaurant and ordered chicken curry and bean curry. The curries could be chosen from 4 levels of spiciness, and if it's not spicy enough, you can ask the staff to add more spices. The naan was freshly baked and delicious. It seems like both spicy food lovers and non-spicy food lovers can enjoy it.

This is my third visit this month to this place near my workplace where I enjoy my lunch break. Today, I arrived a little before 12 o'clock and there were two customers already there. One of them seemed to be a staff member having their lunch break. Today's special was "Spicy Mutton Curry" with a side of "Lassi" for 880 yen.

A Nepalese restaurant run by Nepalese people, so the service is laid-back. If you're looking for formal service, this may not be the place for you, but it's kind of refreshing to go occasionally and just go with the flow. The service is really like being overseas. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, including not just curries but also Nepalese fried rice, noodles, and more. I asked about a menu item I didn't understand, but they couldn't explain it in Japanese, so I ended up ordering a curry set. It arrived in about 15 minutes, but it was missing one dish that was listed on the menu. When I asked, they said they didn't have it today. Too bad. I ordered mutton curry, bean curry, and naan separately. The bean curry was too salty. Towards the end, it was too salty to eat. The mutton curry was tasty, but even though I asked for it to be mildly spicy, it was quite spicy. I also ordered lassi, but it was lukewarm and a bit off-putting. Overall, it felt like a regular Indian restaurant. There are better places out there, but since this one is close by, I might come back occasionally. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch time has come again today! For lunch, I visited "Suriganeshu" located in front of Hakata Station. It was quite crowded as it was lunchtime. I sat at a table for two and ordered the chicken curry set, which cost 750 yen. This time, I chose rice instead of naan and ordered the curry to be Very Hot. It took about 20 minutes for the food to be served. When the curry arrived, I poured it over the rice and started eating. The spiciness was moderate, and I had no particular complaints. However, there was too much rice. They offer free hot coffee, so I ordered that and enjoyed it while waiting. Thank you for the meal!

I visited around 1 pm on Saturday. The restaurant had a decent amount of customers. I ordered the vegetable curry set (700 yen) from the selection of curry sets. I also got a mango lassi for my drink. The set includes curry, choice of naan or rice, salad, and a drink. Soon, my lunch set arrived. The naan was impressively large and had a great aroma. It was crispy and delicious. The vegetable curry was like the typical curry you would find at an Indian restaurant. It was "just delicious." The vegetable curry looked different from the menu photo, which made me laugh, but it was tasty, so no complaints! The mango lassi was sweet, rich, and delicious. A perfect way to end the meal. During lunchtime, you can have unlimited naan for free. You can also get a refill of curry for 300 yen (only the same curry as the set). I ended up ordering a refill because I ran out of curry, and the amount of the refill was generous. Thanks to that, I was extremely full. Compared to other curry restaurants, I personally think the cost-performance ratio is the best part. Being able to get so full for 1000 yen makes it easy for regular visits. The staff was also very friendly, so I definitely want to go back with an empty stomach (^^).

After working overtime and heading home late, I decided to stop by a small alley near Hakata Station for dinner. Next to the bustling Okubo Saketen sake shop, there was a Nepalese restaurant called "Sriganeesh" operating at its own pace. The Nepalese staff were chatting while watching a Nepalese TV show. It was already 9:30 pm, so I couldn't have curry for dinner. Instead, I ordered a green salad for 450 yen and chicken tikka for 280 yen. Oh, too much salad... But it was exactly what I wanted. I grabbed some WiFi from the nearby Seven-Eleven and relaxed while enjoying my healthy evening drink. And that's a wrap for today!

During my trip to Kyushu, I visited a Nepalese restaurant in Fukuoka city. The restaurant is located just across from a Seven Eleven, about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station. I believe it was about a 15-minute walk from my hotel. I was seated at a table inside the restaurant and ordered the B set. The B set includes one type of curry, naan, salad, a soft drink, papad, seekh kebab, and chicken tikka, a lavish dinner set. I chose the mutton masala curry and requested medium spiciness. For my drink, I had an iced chai. After a few minutes, the B set was brought to me. The mutton masala curry had bell peppers and boiled eggs in it. The portion was quite generous, and I ended up feeling full after finishing it all. The mutton masala was very delicious. The seekh kebab and chicken tikka were also very tasty. After finishing my meal and paying the bill, I returned to my hotel. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Around Hakata Station, it's surprisingly difficult to find a place where you can eat Indian curry. In contrast to the abundance of options in Tenjin and Daimyo areas. Recently, a place opened in JR Hakata City, but the prices are a bit high due to location costs and it's crowded, making it hard to relax. However, there is a hidden gem of a restaurant near Hakata Station where you can enjoy Indian curry. Located between Hakata Station and Gion Station, it may be a bit hard to find in a back alley, but it's worth checking out for those looking to enjoy Indian curry near Hakata Station. This place is advertised as serving "Nepalese cuisine," but in reality, it's not much different from Indian curry. The lunch menu offers curry, naan, and other side dishes like tandoori chicken, which seem to be common in Indian cuisine. The lunch set includes curry, naan, salad, drink, and various side dishes, all at a price lower than average, with the option for unlimited naan or rice refills. The taste is quite good, with flavorful spices. It's a recommended spot for those who want to eat a satisfying meal. Indian curry lovers should remember this place near Hakata Station for when they crave it.

Cheap and delicious! The side dishes were good. I had chicken masala and keema curry, both were delicious! The cheese naan and almond naan were also tasty. However, the atmosphere of the restaurant was not great. I wish they would change the lighting from fluorescent to incandescent to create a better ambiance. Just by changing the tablecloths to a clean, bright color, it would make a difference. The staff had lovely smiles and provided great service, so with a slight adjustment in lighting and cleanliness, this restaurant would be perfect!

A friend purchased a coupon for this place, so I was brought here for lunch. The location is a bit hidden on a side street from the main avenue, and the exterior is small so it was a little hard to find. The set we received included naan, two curries, chicken tikka, malai tikka, papad, salad, and a drink. The curries were fixed but we could change to two different ones, so we chose bean curry and chicken sag curry. The staff didn't speak much Japanese, so it was a bit difficult to communicate. The set arrived after a while. The naan was smaller compared to other places, and it was very crispy on the back, almost like Roman-style pizza. I prefer softer naan, so it wasn't really to my liking. Both curries we ordered were quite spicy, but not extremely so, and the portion was small. The chicken sag curry was easy to eat without a strong spinach taste, and the bean curry had a deep flavor with various beans, which I liked the most. The chicken tikka was light and juicy, and overall tasty. The papad was like a common snack that you can't stop eating. Despite the appearance of many items, the portions were small, so it was just enough to feel satisfied. Even with the coupon, I didn't feel it was particularly worth it. The location is not convenient, and it wasn't exactly my taste, so I probably won't come back. The bean curry was delicious though. There aren't many Indian curry places around Hakata Station, so this place might be valuable in that sense. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, I used a coupon on Sharee for a meal at Suriganesh in Hakata near Hakata Station. The restaurant had a quiet atmosphere and the staff were foreigners, which made communication a bit difficult. I used a coupon and was given a note with the coupon number written on it. The staff initially led me to a counter seat but then offered me a table seat since it was not crowded. I ordered the daily special, which was chicken chimari, and the keema curry. The appetizers were crispy and tasty, and the main dish of naan and curry was delicious. The curry was not too spicy, but had a lingering heat. The daily special was vegetable-based and the keema curry had finely minced meat. The food was authentic and flavorful, but there were some instances where the communication was challenging due to language barriers. It would have been better if there was a staff member who could speak Japanese like at BimiNan in Nishijin that I visited before.

I found a restaurant near Hakata Station. I purchased a coupon and went there. It's a bit lonely on the back side of the station, but I was curious to try the unique dishes. The menu included: - Samosa (deep-fried potato-filled pastry) - Chicken Tikka (boneless tandoori chicken marinated in yogurt and spices) - Seekh Kebab (minced meat mixed with chopped vegetables and grilled) - Tandoori Prawn (charcoal-grilled barbecue shrimp) - Salad - Naan (choice of cheese naan or sesame naan) - Curry (choose two types and spiciness level) - Drink Although I wasn't very hungry, I chose the normal spiciness level for the curry. The dishes didn't leave a strong impression. The samosa was simple, the chicken was average, and the seekh kebab was like a hollow spring roll. The shrimp was very yellow. None of the dishes were very spicy. The most memorable item was the naan, which was fluffy, chewy, and slightly sweet. I couldn't finish it all and took some home. It was delicious when reheated. My friend's sesame naan was healthy and tasty. I'll make sure to go with a bigger appetite next time. The cute waiter with big eyes served us, and they allow leftovers to be taken home. The restaurant is called Sriganesha, serving Nepalese and Indian cuisine. Phone: 092-431-3107. Address: 1-27-14 Hakataekimae, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City.
