On November 19, 2020, after a walk to see the autumn leaves at Minoh Falls in Osaka, I stopped by a stylish beer shop near the station for a quick drink. The shop was called "Beer Shop Umehara" and it was located about 200 meters from Minoh Station in the middle of the Minoo Honmichi shopping street. The shop had a wide variety of beers and other alcoholic beverages, and you could also enjoy standing and drinking at the counter inside. I chose Caldera IPA from America for 500 yen and Long Route Ale from America for 490 yen to cheers with. The atmosphere inside the shop was simple but stylish, resembling a street bar in America or Europe. I really liked the setup with the counter and drum barrel tables. I also tried the unique garlic-flavored maple leaf tempura for 278 yen, which was a limited edition item made exclusively for this shop by "Kajika-so" in Minoh. The tempura was crispy with a strong garlic flavor, and it paired well with the bold beers I ordered. Overall, it was a delightful experience to have a quick drink and snack at Beer Shop Umehara before heading home. I also learned that the shop was run by the son of the owner of the former liquor store "Umehara Saketen" near Minoh Park. I look forward to visiting again and learning more about the shop on my next visit.
