After having a drink and on my way back to the hotel, I started feeling a bit peckish. I stumbled upon this place called "Stand Chinese Bau" and saw a sign for "Mapo Men" so I thought they might have ramen. It turned out to be a misinterpretation, but I decided to try their signature dish - Pork Bone Mapo Men for 950 yen. I wanted to have Tsukemen, but they said they didn't have it. They recommended the Pork Bone Mapo Men that was on the sign. Since it was a one-drink system, I had to order a drink as well. I ended up with a Jasmine Highball while waiting for my order. After 10 minutes, the Pork Bone Mapo Men was served with a side of half rice. They instructed to enjoy the dish with the condiments on the table like chili oil, extra numbing Sichuan pepper oil, and apple vinegar. The dish had firm tofu, large cuts of green onions, and nuts on top. I mixed it well and took the first bite - it was delicious! The hot and richly spicy Mapo Tofu with a numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper was flavorful. The nuts added a nice crunch. The thick noodles had a good chewiness and mixed well with the sauce. It was so good that I couldn't stop eating. The rice that came with it made sense as it complemented the spiciness. The combination of Mapo Tofu and rice was perfect. I got so engrossed in the delicious Mapo Tofu that I couldn't stop eating. I also tried the condiments for a different taste - the extra numbing Sichuan pepper oil intensified the numbing sensation, while the apple vinegar added more depth and flavor. Initially, I planned to have a light meal with Tsukemen, but I ended up enjoying the Pork Bone Mapo Men with the rice. It was surprisingly satisfying. The main dish-sized portion of Pork Bone Mapo Men captivated me with its unique charm!
