Before, the sign said 380 yen, but it's quite difficult in this day and age. I wanted to eat Tamago Tempura and Chicken Tempura, so I had the Chikudon with Tamago Tempura and extra shrimp for 620 yen, plus miso soup for 100 yen, totaling 720 yen. The tempura was crispy and delicious. The Tamago Tempura was creamy and tasty, and the vegetables were also delicious. Surprisingly, the Chikuwa tempura was also very good. It's nice that you can customize it to your liking. I received a coupon, so I will visit again. Thank you for the meal! (*´ч`*)

I had the Ebi Tempura Donburi from Santen-san for lunch today. I used a free coupon and added extra chikuwa, and the portion was very satisfying. I also received another free coupon for my next visit, so I plan to go back again. The Ebi Tempura Donburi I had this time cost 450 yen.

Due to a sudden change in dinner plans, I had to go out to eat and ended up going to "Santen" for dinner. Unlike during the day, there were many takeout customers, so the restaurant was actually quite empty. I decided to go with the most expensive option, the Grand Slam Tempura set meal with extra rice. The price was still cheap at 840 yen! I brewed my own tea and after a short 5-minute wait, the Grand Slam Tempura set meal was served. It came with a side dish of spinach, and the miso soup had the usual seaweed. The tempura included eggplant, okra, egg, shrimp, squid, chicken, lotus root, bamboo shoot, and pumpkin, totaling 9 items. The tempura was delicious and not greasy since it was fried in canola oil. I especially enjoyed the egg tempura on top of the hot rice with soy sauce. After finishing everything, I was satisfied and full. It was a great dinner for only 840 yen! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Recently, I often see a TV commercial for Santen's "Gyusuki Tendon" in Kansai. It looks like a bowl of sukiyaki and tempura, giving the impression of being high in calories but incredibly delicious! I decided to try it out and went to the Santen store in Hirakata Takano Michi. I purchased the "Gyusuki Tendon" from the ticket machine, then handed over the service ticket for Chikutendon that I received last time, along with the Gyusuki Tendon ticket, to place my order. Even on weekdays, the restaurant is almost full during lunchtime, showing its popularity. After about 5 minutes, the "Gyusuki Tendon" was brought to me. I could see well-cooked shirataki noodles and beef, with tempura including pumpkin, lotus root, and shrimp, along with the extra Chikutendon spilling out of the bowl! It was a very luxurious bowl, with a yolk in the middle of the egg. I immediately started eating! I cracked the yolk in the middle and mixed it with the beef before taking a bite. The sweet and savory Gyusuki combined with the egg made it taste like a sukiyaki bowl! The flavor was not as strong as I expected, but it was just right. Next, I tried the shrimp tempura and rice bowl part! The crispy shrimp tempura was as delicious as always, but it seemed to clash with the flavor and aroma of the Gyusuki, transforming the tempura into a Gyusuki-style tempura. While the combination of delicious Gyusuki and tempura made it more than twice as delicious, they seemed to be competing and overshadowing each other. It was definitely a unique combination, but the deliciousness was undeniable, although it felt a bit different. Perhaps they would be even tastier if eaten separately! Next time, I think I'll stick to the usual shrimp tempura bowl! Overall, it was quite delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I found a flyer in the newspaper for Tenya's "No Price Increase Declaration"! Starting from June 16th, the tempura bowl at Tenya in the Kanto region will be 530 yen including tax, but San Ten's 39 (Thank You) Tempura Bowl will remain at 390 yen including tax and they will continue to do their best! The flyer also included a voucher for a free piece of squid tempura or fish cake tempura, so I decided to visit the restaurant after a long time. I purchased the 39 Tempura Bowl for 390 yen at the ticket machine at the entrance, and sat at a table inside the restaurant. I handed the staff my ticket and the voucher, and requested the squid tempura as my free item. The restaurant was almost full, showing its popularity among people of all ages. After about 5-6 minutes, the 39 Tempura Bowl was served. Oh, another free voucher was included, they are really generous! The default tempura in the 39 Tempura Bowl consists of shrimp, horse mackerel, lotus root, seaweed, pumpkin, and okra, but this time with the free voucher, squid was added, making it 7 items in total. Now, let's dig in! The tempura, fried in non-cholesterol canola oil, was light and crispy! Although there was only one shrimp, it was still satisfying and very delicious. The sauce was a bit sweet but thick, and went well with the rice. I couldn't resist the seaweed tempura, and before I knew it, I could see the "San Ten" characters written in the bowl. Phew, it was delicious! As more customers were waiting, I decided to leave quickly. Just like in the Kanto region, please continue to do your best with the 39 Tempura Bowl at 390 yen! I am fully satisfied and my stomach is full! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Grand Slam Ebi-Ten Set Meal for 840 yen. Visited with a food log rating of 3.03. There is parking available for about 20 cars, which I believe is shared with the neighboring ramen shop. I really wanted to eat tempura, so I visited here for the first time. It's cheap, fast, and satisfying. I'm also happy that they offer free extra rice.

Every time I pass by Route 1, I see this place. It's close to the former Dobagatoge Tea House (now closed). This was my first time visiting this chain restaurant, managed by Sato Food Service. They have a touch panel ticket machine at the entrance. I ordered a classic item since it was my first visit. The interior has a counter that extends out, giving it a Yoshigyu-like atmosphere. There were a few customers waiting inside, with takeout customers as well. The popular items were the 39 Tempura Bowl for 390 yen. The tempura included shrimp, horse mackerel, lotus root, shishito pepper, pumpkin, and seaweed, all freshly fried with crispy batter and tender insides. The miso soup for 100 yen was rich and had plenty of seaweed. Adding a little hot water made it just right. They gave me a coupon on my way out, but the short expiration date meant I couldn't use it in time. I'd like to try a different menu item next time.

It suddenly got colder these days, and I had a sudden craving for hot tempura rice bowl for lunch. So, I decided to stop by Santen Maekata Koyamichido store after a long time. As I looked at the menu on the ticket machine, I noticed they now offer a tempura rice bowl with shrimp tempura and chicken tempura, which was not available before! Surprisingly, it was only 490 yen for a regular size. I quickly pressed the button to order it. It was lunchtime, and the restaurant was quite crowded, about 80% full. I sat at a two-person table at the back and handed over my ticket. In about 7-8 minutes, my tempura rice bowl arrived. Even though I ordered a regular size, the tempura was piled up so high that you couldn't see the rice underneath! It included 2 shrimp tempura, 2 chicken tempura, 1 pumpkin tempura, 1 okra tempura, and 1 seaweed tempura. I started eating, being careful with the hot tempura. The tempura was lightly crispy and hot, and it was delicious! I added a little more sauce to the tempura rice bowl and enjoyed it. The chicken tempura had a crispy coating and a soft inside, perfectly fried. The two shrimp tempura were a good size, lightly fried, and I savored every bite until I could see the name of the restaurant at the bottom of the bowl. Despite being a chain restaurant with a tempura rice bowl for just one coin, the focus on tempura rice bowl made it very delicious. It was a satisfying meal! I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal!

Upon hearing the news that "Tenya" is withdrawing from Osaka, I suddenly remembered this restaurant. I have only been to the Uji Ogura branch once before, but this is my first time here. It is a restaurant owned by Sat Food Service, which offers dishes like Japanese cuisine. The tempura bowl starts at 390 yen, but I ordered the "Smelt & Rockfish & Winter Vegetable Set Meal" for 840 yen. The rice, tempura dipping sauce, and spinach side dish were just okay. The miso soup was made with seaweed, which was a nice touch, but the flavor was a bit strong. The tempura was light and crispy. The ingredients included rockfish, smelt, shrimp, lily root and watercress tempura, burdock, carrot, broccoli, and lotus root, each one. The seafood, including the shrimp, lacked flavor. The lotus root, broccoli, and carrot were juicier and had a concentrated umami taste typical of tempura. The price difference between the tempura and the rice bowl was 150 yen. I recommend not expecting too much from this place and just enjoying the bowl in one go.

Donburi + noodles. It's a combination I usually try to avoid because of the excess carbs, but when the price is cheap, I can't resist. There are many types of tempura bowls, but since it was my first time, I chose the 39 Tempura Bowl. It had shrimp tempura, fish tempura, pumpkin, lotus root, okra, and seaweed. With this much variety, it was satisfying. I ignore the more expensive tempura bowls. Honestly, I just randomly selected from the options on the ticket machine screen because I didn't really understand what they were. The taste was average, but since it was freshly fried, there were no disappointments. The tempura bowl with a side of mini udon was only 580 yen, so it might be better than a beef bowl restaurant.

I suddenly had a craving for tempura, so I went to "Santen" where you can eat tempura cheaply and easily. This place is a chain restaurant affiliated with "Washoku Sato". You buy a food ticket and take a seat. This time, I ordered the limited edition anago (conger eel) and shrimp tempura bowl with a side of hot udon noodles. The anago was huge, sticking out of the bowl (lol). The batter was not too thick and had a crispy texture, freshly fried. The shrimp was nice and firm. The vegetable tempura included okra and lotus root, crunchy and delicious. Although there were mostly male customers, the restaurant's character "Koromon" is cute, so it seems suitable for women and families too. When I feel like having a hearty tempura bowl again, I will definitely go back.

I visited the "Santen Koyamichi Store," a branch of the "Washoku Sato" chain that opened on February 1st. When it first opened, it was crowded, but after a week, it started to get a bit less busy. It was my first time there, so I pressed the button for the default dish, the "Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl" (390 yen tax included), at the ticket machine by the entrance and entered the restaurant with the ticket in hand. Inside, there was a large counter seat in the front and tables in the separated back area. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter and handed over my ticket. Although it was before noon, the restaurant was filled with the elderly generation, with no young people in sight, making it a surprising sight of mostly older couples! On the counter, there were shichimi spice, rice bowl sauce, pickled vegetables, and sprinkles, and I poured my own water. After waiting a few minutes, the "Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl" arrived. The freshly fried tempura included two shrimp, sardines, okra, lotus root, and seaweed, served on hot rice with a light drizzle of rice bowl sauce. I dug in immediately! The freshly fried tempura was delicious, and the oil used was canola oil, making it cholesterol-free! The two shrimp were plump and perfectly fried! I added a bit more rice bowl sauce, which was nice as it allowed me to adjust the flavor to my liking! With a variety of tempura types, it was enjoyable to try different flavors! The rice portion was just right, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The other day, I had the tempura rice bowl from Sushiro's Sushiya (370 yen tax excluded), which had three slightly thin shrimp, squid, and shiso leaf, making it a good comparison! The tempura rice bowl from a tempura specialty store versus a sushi restaurant! Given that Santen opened in the former location of Kura Sushi, it might be a close match! A cheap and delicious tempura specialty store has opened nearby! Next time, I'll have to try the most expensive "Grand Slam Shrimp Tempura Set"! What? It costs 790 yen! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
