"Pane a casetta alla inglese" is an Italian bread. Other familiar Italian breads include focaccia, ciabatta, panettone, grissini, and maritozzo. I bought a round loaf of bread that looks like a log and enjoyed its fluffy and delicious taste even when eaten raw.

Milan's high-end grocery store. You can buy their products at Takashimaya in Japan. In Kansai, you can only find their products at this store and Osaka Takashimaya, making it quite rare and valuable. This time, I tried their "Pane Melone (Macaron)" (238 yen) (melon bread with macaron dough), "Firone Latte" (238 yen) (breadstick with milk cream), and "Pane Dolce Avvolto" (260 yen) (sweet bread with matcha and red bean). The prices are surprisingly reasonable for a department store basement, which is great! The melon bread is not made with cookie dough, but with macaron dough. It has a unique texture that melts in your mouth, unlike the typical "soft inside, crunchy outside" melon bread. The milk stick bread is made with salty focaccia dough, complementing the sweetness of the condensed milk cream inside. The chewy texture adds to the enjoyment! The matcha bread has a more substantial texture than regular Danish pastries, and it's also delicious! The crispy cream icing on top is amazing, and the generous amount of simmered red beans inside is delicious. All the bread from this store has a unique originality and is truly delicious! If this store were nearby, I would definitely visit it regularly!

Located on the basement floor of Takashimaya in Kawaramachi. I visited for the first time on a holiday night. Recommended: Panettone-style Pan Carre Trancher 1/2 for 422 yen (tax included). Description: "A slightly sweet bread with a Panettone-like flavor. It has a unique fragrance and soft texture." It is a round loaf of bread.

Located a 3-5 minute walk from Kawaramachi Station in Kyoto, Bakery Peck Kyoto Takashimaya store is a popular bakery with branches in various department stores. This particular store is always bustling with people looking to buy bread. Conveniently located in the Takashimaya deli section, you can purchase both bread and other side dishes. I bought the popular Piccolo sandwich and a chocolate muffin. The Piccolo sandwich is a mini size with a mini hamburger packed with meat and cheese that complement each other well. The chocolate muffin is so rich that it feels like it absorbs all the moisture in your mouth. Both were the perfect size for a morning snack! If you're looking for a bakery around Kawaramachi in Kyoto, be sure to visit this place. Bon appétit!

I found a delicious looking bread at the Pan corner of Kyoto Takashimaya! There were high-class looking bread lined up (laughs), making it hard to choose. I chose the Anchoivi and Olive Focaccia for 324 yen, which I found interesting with its combination. The Focaccia with chewy texture had olives with a strong accent, which was quite delicious. The richness was also good. It was a memorable bread, so buying a small amount was just right and it was a good purchase. I now want to try other varieties as well. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I visited Takashimaya in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. The basement floor of Takashimaya has many food shops which are fun to explore. Among them, I visited "PECK", a high-end food store from Milan, Italy. I bought two types of bread and took them home.
- Pane Melone (Macaron): A melon bread made with macaron dough. It is a type of traditional Italian fermented sweet bread similar to Panettone, baked in a paper mold. The surface is crispy like a melon bread biscuit, while the bottom has a fluffy texture. It is a moderately sweet pastry bread.
- Sweet Focaccia: A focaccia made with cranberries and raspberries. The dough also contains cranberries. I enjoyed the crunchy texture of the sugar coating along with the texture of the two berries. The flavor combines mascarpone cheese with the acidity of the berries. I enjoyed these slightly luxurious breads!

The shelves in the store are lined with various types of bread such as Pane Tipo Focaccia, Olive and Cheese Ciabatta, Ciabatta Salsiccia (Genovese), Pane Carre al Riso... among others. I chose to buy the Pane Curry (Curry Bread) which had a nice moderate oiliness. The curry inside was moderately spicy, closer to medium heat, and it was a spicy beef curry. Next time, I plan to try the Ciabatta with fava beans and Pecorino cheese, and the Pane Torcione Avvolto.

Located on B1F of the Kyoto Takashimaya department store in Kyoto City, this bakery offers a variety of breads from toast to sweet pastries. One of their specialties is the "Pane Dolce Avvolto (Uva)", a sweet pastry filled with raisins and cinnamon cream. This pastry is made by wrapping raisins and cinnamon cream in a panettone-flavored sweet bread, topped with rum icing. The combination of the fluffy panettone bread, the sweet and sourness of the raisins, the aroma of cinnamon, and the sweetness of the icing creates a unique and delicious treat. Another unique item is the "Pane Melone (Macaron)", a melon bread made with macaron dough. This variation of melon bread features a soft panettone-flavored sweet bread topped with a layer of biscuit and macaron dough, baked to perfection in a paper mold, giving it a distinctive appearance compared to other melon breads.

I tried the popular melon bread because it had a rating of 3.5 on Tabelog. Hmm, there was nothing particularly noteworthy about it. I think the melon bread from Kofuku-Do or other bakeries is tastier. The outside was crispy, but overall it was just a normal melon bread. It wasn't even a macaron-style one.

I bought some bread at Takashimaya. Pikkoro Sand Ebi & Tamago (184 yen), Pikkoro Sand Hamburg (184 yen), Pikkoro Sand Herb Sausage (184 yen), and Panecafe (162 yen). They are like hamburgers and are the perfect size to eat. Panecafe is a melon bread with coffee inside!

Before getting on the train, I entered Takashimaya, just a few minutes away from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station. I bought the following two items:
- Smoked bacon and melty cheese bread: 260 yen
I baked it and ate it, and the smoked bacon was delicious. The smoky flavor was strong and very tasty. It's my kind of flavor.
- Sesame bread with cheese topping: 360 yen
There was a sign saying "Recommended to pair with wine," so I bought it. The cheese on top was crispy. However, the sesame flavor was very strong, overpowering the cheese. It was a bit too much sesame for my taste. Thank you for the meal.

I bought a hard bread at Peck. Filone (fig and walnut bread) for 292 yen and Steamed chicken with wasabi mayonnaise sandwich for 346 yen. I love figs, so I really enjoyed the Filone. It was pre-cut into 6 slices, making it easy to eat and reach for. When I put it on the table, it disappeared quickly during soup time. I had the steamed chicken with wasabi mayonnaise for lunch. It was interesting to have wasabi flavor in Italian bread, but the combination was delicious and enjoyable. There are other things I want to try, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Chabata 216 yen. A chewy and simple Italian bread. It may be a bit lacking for those who like a strong wheat flavor like me. It seems good for putting fillings inside.

I found a delicious-looking bakery in the basement of Takashimaya, but it was already past 6:00 PM so there weren't many options left. I decided to buy three types of bread from a bakery I had never purchased from before. The one labeled as the most popular was a cheese-filled bread, an Italian-style home bread, and a bread with condensed milk. When I tried the cheese-filled bread, it was delicious. The cheese was fresh and tasty. I wonder how they bake it to make it so good. While it's common to find bread with hard cheese, this one was exceptional. If I come across it again, I would definitely buy it. I was lucky to get the last bag. Thank you for the meal.

The 540 yen set was enjoyable. It included Focaccia (deep-fried bread with plenty of oil), a set of three walnut bread, raisin cinnamon roll, and melon bread. Although I didn't choose the bread myself, I was happy with the purchase. It seemed to be a popular assortment of bread. The Focaccia was a bit oily for my taste, but the rest were all very delicious! Especially the walnut bread was soft and really tasty. They were being sold individually in the store for around 216 yen each, so it was a good deal to get them in a set. The melon bread had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior, really delicious! The cinnamon roll was very sweet, like a dessert bread.
