I arrived at the restaurant to see the Ishioka Eiko exhibition before lunch. Even though there were empty seats by the window for the number of people, they were spaced out one by one. So, unfortunately, I had to sit at a table and enjoyed the Ishioka Eiko limited edition cake and apple juice. #Kitakyushu City Museum of Art #Ishioka Eiko #Design

There is a café inside the Kitakyushu Museum of Art ☕️ Even though it is a café, the lunch menu is extensive. However, on this day, I visited for tea time and had cake and coffee. I forgot to take a picture of the sweets, but... The coffee is 600 yen, but you can get a refill for 100 yen.

I visited an art gallery and had lunch by myself. I chose a seat by the window, which offered a great view of Kitakyushu. I recommend this seat, especially for solo diners. I ordered the oil pasta, which was made with fresh noodles. It looked like champon noodles, but the taste was delicious with a strong oil flavor. The bread was warm and tasty. The set included a small soup, salad, and bread for 1760 yen (tax included), which is a bit pricey, but the taste was good so I was satisfied.

There is a cafe attached to the Kitakyushu City Art Museum. It is located towards the back of the second floor of the museum. The lunch menu offers several options and it is more of a place to have a light tea. The beef stew was very delicious. The meat was tender. The drinks also had a strong fruity taste and were very good.

When I went to scout the art museum, I was surprised to find a café there! Lucky strike eagle. I arrived around 1 pm and the place was almost full, all with older ladies. I felt like the only guy there, quite out of place. Since I had already eaten lunch, I ordered something from the café menu. The desserts were so cute. The crème brûlée was the most delicious. It's actually one of my favorite desserts. Well then, sorry to keep you waiting...

Nishisayagadani, Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu City. A cafe located inside the Kitakyushu City Art Museum. Many Kitakyushu residents do not often visit the Kitakyushu City Art Museum, but until August 31st, Kitakyushu residents can enter for free, so I decided to check it out. While I was there, I also visited the cafe (which was actually my main reason for going). The menu includes dishes like hamburger with demiglace sauce and salad set, original pork cutlet curry and salad set, original hashed beef rice and salad set, pasta of the month, fried chicken and fries, fluffy pancakes, and dessert plates, among others. The drink menu is also quite extensive. This time, I ordered the seasonal ice cream with a bit of fruit (500 yen) and an iced cafe latte (650 yen). The seasonal ice cream was just vanilla, with pineapple and grapefruit on the side, along with a cookie. It was a bit disappointing that the seasonal ice cream was just vanilla. The iced cafe latte was quite milky, making the coffee flavor less strong. It was delicious overall. This is a place to discuss the paintings you have seen while enjoying the view. Thank you for the meal.

I was thinking of using the cafe inside the Kitakyushu City Art Museum for tea time, but I was pleasantly surprised by the incredibly high level in a good way! I visited when there was a Finland exhibition. Both my friend and I love good food and enjoy learning through lunch, so we often visit delicious restaurants in Fukuoka. The hamburger I ordered had a refreshing yet deep sweetness in the demiglace sauce, and I was amazed after just one bite. It was juicy and satisfying with minimal filler. The vegetables were also beautifully arranged. My friend ordered the pork cutlet curry, and the cutlet was thick and large, but the meat was tender and fluffy, with a crispy exterior. I had a bite and it was truly delicious. This cafe offers delicious lunches at the level of a dedicated traditional Western-style restaurant. I believe the prices would be higher in Fukuoka city. When the chef is skilled, the cafe also levels up.

A magnificent view. Looking out at the sea from a high hill. The counter seats by the window were already full. The spacious tables on the mountain side looked comfortable to relax at. I ordered the beef curry, even though there were special menu options. The café at the art museum had a sense of aesthetics throughout. When the curry arrived, it came with a side salad. The amount of rice was less compared to the curry sauce, so I had to manage it wisely. The large chunks of beef in the curry were incredibly tender. The beef had a buttery flavor that stood out from the rest of the curry. The aroma of the beef was distinct from the curry, making it a high-quality dish. As expected, there was less rice compared to the amount of curry sauce.

The café at the art museum I visited was top-notch in terms of style. The counter seats for solo diners were glass-enclosed, offering a great panoramic view of the city! I ordered the limited-time menu for the "Georges Rouault Exhibition" - "Rouault's favorite Dauphinois with domestic pork fillet cutlet in tomato sauce & salad set" for ¥1,700. The salad included grains like barley, making it healthy. The minestrone soup was delicious too! The cutlet was tender and easy to eat. The Dauphinois (potato gratin) was generously portioned with seafood like squid, octopus, and shrimp, making it very tasty and satisfying. For dessert, I had tiramisu, and during lunchtime, a soft drink was included, so I had coffee. Since the café is located up in the mountains, I recommend this café for lunch or tea time in the northern beauty.

The atmosphere is nice as it is located next to an art museum. Both the mountain side and sea side offer wonderful views. Special menu inspired by the Lautrec exhibition adds to the sense of luxury!

I wanted to take my time at the exhibition, so I had the lunch and cake set here. The cake was carefully made and there were various kinds, which made me very satisfied. The coffee was delicious too, and I could have another cup for just about 100 yen. The view was nice, and the fried horse mackerel I had for lunch was really delicious, including the sauce. I was able to spend a relaxing time. This place is one of my favorites, just like the restaurant at the Oita City Art Museum. If I have the chance to come here again and there is another good exhibition, I will definitely come back.

I went to have tea with a friend at a cafe with a great view on the 2nd floor of the Kitakyushu City Art Museum. The cafe menu ranges from "Cookie & a bit of fruit for 250 yen" to "Seasonal ice cream & a bit of fruit for 500 yen", with a total of 6 options. I chose to have 2 cakes and a drink set. I chose an iced coffee for my drink. The cakes I had were the "Mousse au The for 380 yen" which had a fragrant Earl Grey flavor in the cake and mousse with a smooth milk chocolate cream, and the "Pistachio Mousse for 360 yen" which had layers of pistachio and coffee cream mousse between the cake. Both cakes were delicious and well worth the price. The cakes are sourced from "Senkusa Hotel's Patisserie Mil Elbe". They were all delicious and there wasn't a single disappointment, especially for cakes in the 300 yen range. They also offer a "Monthly Recommended Plate Lunch for 1500 yen" which looked delicious and enjoyable with a view of the scenery.

Architect Isozaki Arata designed the Kitakyushu City Art Museum, which is located on a small hill and stands out with its unique and minimalist modern design. The interior is covered in stone, creating a spacious and impressive atmosphere. The cafe on the second floor, Cafe Muse, offers a luxurious setting with a great view of Kitakyushu city. The food, including fresh pasta and meat dishes, was all delicious and there are not many people, making it a hidden gem worth visiting.

In line with the renewal of the Kitakyushu City Art Museum, the café also underwent a renewal on November 3rd. Located on the 2nd floor of the main building, on the far right with a great view. "Café Muse". You can enjoy views of the sea, factories, and cityscape from the seaside, and views of the forest trees from the mountain side while spending a relaxing time. The café has the same opening hours as the art museum, so you can relax. I had a mini dessert plate with three types of cakes, fruits, and ice cream (400 yen) along with a blend coffee (additional 400 yen). The blend coffee is light and may not be satisfying for those who like strong coffee. The counter seats have outlets which are convenient. The staff's subtle consideration showed their high level of customer service.
