I used it for lunch on a regular day. It is a city Chinese restaurant located in Awaji-cho, about a 5-minute walk from the subway station "Kitahama Station". The restaurant has a casual atmosphere with a total of 60 seats in a medium-sized store. The 1st floor I used was run by 3 hall staff. This time, I ordered the lunch menu "B fried rice set 900 yen". The content and evaluation are as follows. [◎, ◯, △] Curry chicken tempura ◎ The main dish of popular chicken tempura in Osaka is finished with a curry flavor. The thinly sliced breast meat is easy to eat and OK! Plenty of volume is a bonus point w/ sesame dressing Cabbage fried rice ◯ The lightly flavored fried rice served in a small bowl is a bit lacking in impact... w/ char siu, egg, carrot, green peas Mini champon ◯ Soup ◯ Strong style noodles with a strong salt and pepper taste △ Slightly lacking in umami... Ingredients ◯ w/ pork, carrot, onion, leek, cabbage, shimeji mushrooms Small dish #1 ◯ It seems to be a rule in this area to serve eggs in some form with lunch Small dish #2 ◯ Pickled cucumber, a commercial product, but still good Tea ◯ Cold hojicha tea with a thick glass for refills circulating around the restaurant is a bonus point BGM is terrestrial TV! The customer base is mainly business people, mostly dining alone. The occupancy rate is about 60%. The ratio of women is about 10%. By the way, the current Tabelog rating is 3.15. The low threshold and stress-free operation left a good impression. It was a lively, casual, hearty city Chinese restaurant with lively Chinese conversations flying around the restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

From Kitahama to Sakaisuji Honmachi, there is a Chinese restaurant called "Daiki" located on the right side after crossing one street to the west from the intersection of Sakaisuji Honmachi 1 in Awajimachi 2-chome in Chuo-ku. Today's set meal (750 yen) includes either egg and vegetable stir-fry with mapo tofu or egg and vegetable stir-fry with mini tantanmen. Both seemed spicy so I decided to go with the "Chinese rice bowl." It was brought to me in about 3 minutes and had a decent portion size. The taste of salt and pepper was a bit strong. It was a satisfying meal. ——————————————————————— Bells will be ringing the sad, sad news Oh what a Christmas to have the blues My baby's gone (my baby's gone) I have no friends To wish me greetings once again The bells are ringing, bringing sad news. What a melancholic Christmas to have. My loved one is no longer here. I have no friends to greet me once more. (Eagles/1978)

For lunch on this day, I went to Daiki, a Chinese restaurant in Chuo Ward, Awajimachi. Located between Kitahama and Sakaisuji Hommachi, just west of the intersection of Awajimachi 1-chome, this restaurant offers a variety of noodle and rice dishes for lunch. Customers who arrive after 1:00 pm receive a 50 yen discount, making the 550 yen ramen a one-coin lunch. There are two daily set meals available, and on weekdays during lunchtime, a different noodle dish is offered for only 500 yen. On the day I visited, I had the vegetable-filled curry yakisoba. The interior of the restaurant is long, with tables lined up. There are seats on the second floor as well, but it can get crowded during lunch hours. I sat at a two-person table at the back and ordered the vegetable-filled curry yakisoba for 500 yen. The dish arrived within 2-3 minutes, accompanied by clear egg soup, which had a gentle flavor. The curry yakisoba was indeed packed with vegetables such as carrots, eggplant, onions, shimeji mushrooms, potatoes, cabbage, etc. It also included chicken. The seasoning was slightly spicy with a hint of acidity. It's a perfect dish for stimulating appetite in the summer and getting plenty of vegetables. Despite not being affected by summer fatigue or loss of appetite, I finished the meal without leaving anything behind. I recommend adding a half portion of fried rice for an additional 200 yen or ordering unlimited rice refills for 150 yen.

Located right in the middle between Kitahama and Sakaisuji Hommachi, on the west side of the intersection in Awajimachi 1-chome, this Chinese restaurant is a popular spot for a casual drink or as a second round venue. It tends to get crowded, so make sure to arrive early. The Black Vinegar Pork for 780 yen is a must-try, with a generous amount of meat in a tangy sauce. The Seafood Ankake Yakisoba (not listed on the menu but available for a limited time) is a large portion and delicious. The Sweet and Sour Pork (also a limited-time item) is packed with meat as well. The Tipsy Set for 990 yen is highly recommended, offering a drink (draft beer, highball, chu-hi, or shochu) plus two dishes, which are quite filling. This time, we ordered Steamed Chicken (Sichuan-style Bang Bang Chicken) and Zasai Salad as part of the Tipsy Set.

Tianjin Mapo Don is a dish with fluffy egg, plenty of bamboo shoots, carrots, and other ingredients in a savory sauce with a delicious soy sauce flavor. The Mapo part doesn't have much flavor, maybe because I ate the Tianjin part first. It lacks spiciness and umami, and the tofu is a slightly firm dark brown. The soup is a common light-flavored soup. If I have the chance to come again, I would like to try just the Mapo tofu to see what it tastes like.

I had the daily special set meal "Chicken with Cashew Nuts Stir-Fry and Mini Vegetable Ankake Ramen" for 800 yen. The stir-fry was delicious, but I was too full and ended up leaving the ramen unfinished.

It's July. The hot and humid days have arrived. I love summer so I don't mind the heat too much. However, I've been feeling more prone to summer fatigue in recent years, maybe because of my age. What tastes good in hot summer is curry and Chinese food. The spiciness increases my appetite. Today, I went to "Daiki" restaurant. It's a Chinese restaurant with only table seating, no sharing, lucky me. I ordered the daily special set meal which included Sichuan-style steamed chicken and stir-fried shrimp and egg chili. Of course, it came with rice, soup, and pickles. First, I tried the Sichuan-style steamed chicken with cucumber. The combination of cucumber and steamed chicken with a bit of spiciness really increased my appetite. It was delicious. The stir-fried shrimp and egg chili was also great, with the eggs mixed just right. I put it on top of the rice and it was so good. The rice just kept disappearing. They mentioned that for an extra 50 yen, you can change the rice to fried rice, so I'll try that next time. Thank you for the meal. June 2018.

I wish there was a non-smoking or smoke-free lunchtime restaurant where I could become a regular customer. Before noon, all the tables on the first floor are filled up, and customers start flowing into the second floor. The management and staff are from a different country, creating a lively atmosphere inside the restaurant. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, ranging from ¥500 to ¥700, with a variety of noodle dishes available. However, this restaurant is smoke-free. I ordered the daily special for ¥700, which included mapo tofu and chicken with salt and pepper. The set meal also came with egg soup, pickled cucumbers, and rice. The mapo tofu was delicious, with just the right amount of spiciness and fragrance from the pepper. It was almost too spicy for me, but undeniably tasty. The salt and pepper chicken was also flavorful, making me crave a cold beer. The rice was so good that I couldn't stop eating. It's a shame that it's not smoke-free. Thank you for the meal.

On November 12, 2014, I had the mixed vegetable and sweet and sour pork set meal for 700 yen, which came with rice, soup, and pickles. I saw the sign saying today's set meal was sweet and sour pork, so I chose that, thinking it was a choice between that and mixed vegetables. But it turns out both dishes were included. I love sweet and sour pork, but I'm not a big fan of mixed vegetables. If I had known it was a set, I might not have ordered it. It was a bit disappointing that there was only one other customer there around noon, and the atmosphere felt a bit off. The food was served lukewarm, which made me wonder if it was pre-made. The seasoning was not bad, but the temperature was a letdown. The vegetables in the sweet and sour pork felt undercooked and limp. The mixed vegetables had too much water. The pickles were pickled ginger. The soup was also lukewarm. It seems like I won't be returning to this restaurant again.

Today's lunch was Chinese food! The restaurant is called Chuka Ryori Daiki, located about a 10-minute walk from Sakaisuji Hommachi. They had a daily lunch special for 700 yen, which included shrimp tempura and leek with egg stir-fry. You could have unlimited rice refills, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was long and narrow, with only table seating available. I sat at a table for two since I was dining alone. In addition to the daily special, they had a variety of menu items such as Jajangmyeon for 750 yen, yakisoba for 650 yen, yakibifun for 680 yen, plate udon for 700 yen, wonton noodles for 680 yen, ma-style ramen for 680 yen, char siu ramen for 680 yen, fried rice for 650 yen, lettuce fried rice for 700 yen, kimchi fried rice for 700 yen, pickled vegetable fried rice for 700 yen, Tianjin rice bowl for 650 yen, Chinese rice bowl for 650 yen, ma-style tofu rice bowl for 700 yen, and more. However, I decided to order the daily special. It was ready in about 3 minutes, impressively fast. The presentation was not the best, but there was a generous amount of shrimp tempura and leek stir-fry. I started with the shrimp tempura, which was decently tasty. Next, I tried the leek stir-fry, which was also delicious in terms of flavor and cooking. However, alternating between the shrimp tempura and leek stir-fry made me feel a bit bored. Even without getting a rice refill, I was satisfied and full. I would like to try their noodle dishes next time! Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was Beijing noodles set meal at "Chugoku Sakaya Daiki" in Awajicho. The light taste with Chinese broth, vegetables, and pork umami was excellent. The thickened soup was much appreciated in this season. The hot dish alternated with well-seasoned fried rice was a perfect combination. It was a solo outing for errands. I thoroughly enjoyed warming up. Thank you for the feast. Despite the twists and turns, that person made his debut in the Kabuki world in Ichikawa Nakaguruma, but it seems that the bond with Rien is unbreakable.

In May 2011, during lunchtime, there is a restaurant located between Sakaisuji Hommachi and Kitahama. This area has quite a few Chinese restaurants. The interior of the restaurant is rectangular, giving off a typical Chinese restaurant vibe. The menu includes a daily set meal for 750 yen, which comes with rice and two side dishes. The flavors are quite light and easy to eat, suitable even for women. The portion size is also normal. Overall, everything about this place is just average.

I went to "Chinese Restaurant Daiki" for lunch. I was curious about this place for a while and decided to give it a try since I was alone. The restaurant was cleaner than I expected, with several 4-person tables lined up in a long space. There seemed to be a second floor as well, so it can accommodate quite a few people. When I entered, it was already full, so I had to share a table with someone else. The menu outside mentioned Tianjin rice for 600 yen, which seemed like a good deal. There were various options like rice bowls, ramen, and sets, including dishes like fried vermicelli and Zhajiangmian. I ended up ordering Mapo Ramen with a small portion of fried rice. I had never tried Mapo Ramen before, so I was curious to see how it would taste. When the food arrived, I realized that I had mistaken it for Tan Tan Men... There was soy sauce ramen topped with Mapo tofu. The fried rice looked appetizing in the rice bowl. First, I tried the ramen. The soup was quite bland, with a hint of soy sauce but a bit watery. I started to worry if it was a mistake, but when I mixed the Mapo tofu into the soup, the flavor improved and it tasted pretty good. The tofu was cut into small pieces, easy to eat, and not too spicy, suitable for children as well. It turned out to be quite delicious, dispelling my initial doubts. The noodles were thin and ordinary, like ramen you would find at a Chinese restaurant. The fried rice was very loose and almost spilled when I tried to pick it up with chopsticks. I prefer it to be a bit more moist. The flavor was just right, with mixed vegetables like green peas, corn, carrots, and small pieces of ham. I wished there was a bit more meat in it... The restaurant seemed to be quite popular, with a constant stream of customers coming in. However, the clientele was predominantly male (almost 100%), and during my visit, there were no female customers. It might be intimidating for women to enter as the interior is not visible from the outside. The lunch menu had a variety of options, so I would like to try something different if I have the chance.

The staff, both in the dining area and kitchen, are Chinese, possibly from Shandong province. The prices are neither high nor low, and the portion sizes are decent. The pan-fried dumplings are similar to what is known as "guo tie" in China, and they do not contain garlic inside. Overall, the food is not too distinctive but still satisfying. Personally, I prefer this type of restaurant over Chinese restaurants that try to cater specifically to Japanese tastes. The staff may seem a bit indifferent at first, but they are friendly when engaged in conversation.

This is my first visit. They offer a variety of lunch options as well as bento boxes. I ordered the oil-splashed chicken bento. They also have options like Tianjin rice, mapo don, Tianjin mapo don, kung pao pork bento, shrimp chili bento, and sweet and sour pork bento. The oil-splashed chicken bento is very luxurious for 600 yen. It's delicious. I enjoyed the tamagoyaki, zha cai, and green beans. Thank you for the meal.

I was looking for a lunch bento to have at home and came across a unique takeout item called Mapo Tianjin Don. When I tried it at home, the taste was decent. Personally, I think the egg on the Tianjin rice is delicious, but I wish there was a bit more sauce or toppings on it.
