It's about a 3-minute walk from Yotsuhashi Station. Located on the north side of Amerikamura, on the 2nd floor after going up the stairs through a narrow path inside a building. With a rating of 3.09 on Tabelog, I decided to try their weekday lunch after seeing the sign while passing by. Despite feeling a bit uneasy, there are frequent signs along the way guiding you to the restaurant. The photos of the owner are cute (lol). While the place emphasizes a homey and cozy atmosphere, the interior is surprisingly modern and simple. But upon closer inspection, the place is filled with posters and goods of Shuji Tachi, a famous Japanese singer. The music playing is also by him. The lunch menu offers 3 options, all priced at 1,100 yen. I chose the oil-drizzled chicken. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice portions. There are 2 staff members, probably the owner and her son. When you order, the owner starts cooking, so it may take a bit of time, but it's worth the wait. The set meal includes rice, miso soup, oil-drizzled chicken, and 4 side dishes (cucumber vinegar, cold tofu, lotus root, and dried tofu). You can get a free large rice portion. The oil-drizzled chicken is like soy sauce-based sauce on fried chicken thighs, tender and juicy, but not quite what I expected from oil-drizzled chicken. Overall, the homemade feel of the main and side dishes, as well as the friendly service from the owner and her son, create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. If there was a little something extra in terms of taste or portion size for the price, it would be even better. Thank you for the meal.

I had today's meal at Okan Shokudo in Osaka, Shinsaibashi. It was my first visit to this restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Tore-en. I chose the white miso zoni (with mochi) and side dish set, with the saba miso as the side dish. The flavors were gentle overall. They gave me a generous portion of rice which I enjoyed so much that I struggled to finish it all! Congratulations on the upcoming 2nd anniversary. The total cost was 1,000 yen (January 5, 2023). Today, I visited "Okan Shokudo" in Amerikamura, Osaka Minami. It is located on the second floor at the back of a building near MIKI Musical Instruments. It may be a bit difficult to find! I ordered the grilled mackerel set meal, which came with a variety of delicious side dishes. The mackerel itself was also very tasty! It was a great find in such a hidden location!

In the heart of America-mura, there is a cozy diner that feels just like home! They offer a wide variety of dishes that will leave you feeling satisfied. Today's menu includes "Mom's Curry," "Grilled Mackerel with Salt," and "Fried Chicken." I ordered the Grilled Mackerel but was offered to have it as Miso-Marinated Mackerel instead. The selection of side dishes is plentiful and the miso soup is delicious. The kindness of the staff, reminiscent of a mother's care, adds a special touch to the meal. A delightful dining experience. I often had trouble deciding where to eat lunch in America-mura for work. A new restaurant opened upstairs from the Chinese restaurant I sometimes visit, and they offer a "Grilled Yellowtail Set Meal" for ¥1,000. It comes with various side dishes. The teriyaki sauce was a bit strong, but the yellowtail was delicious with its fatty texture. I'm happy that I can enjoy Japanese food here. The background music and posters are all about Hideki Okamoto, so I can tell the owner's hobby (laughs).

A restaurant located near the Triangle Park in Amerikamura. It is on the second floor after going up the stairs in front of the large parking lot and turning around. The elevator is on the opposite side of the entrance, but it is easy to reach from there. They provide homemade dishes made with pesticide-free ingredients as much as possible, considering the health. It's nice to be able to taste the nostalgic flavors of a mother in the young city of Amerikamura. The sign at the entrance says "Welcome back, the meal is ready," which is heartwarming. The daily special includes rice, one main dish, and 3-4 small side dishes, all for 1000 yen, which is a great deal. And everything is very delicious. The interior is filled with cool photos of Hideki Saijo. This restaurant is currently a hot topic, being featured on Yahoo News and Yomiuri TV's "Kansai Netten."

Near Sankaku Park, there is a shop on the first floor that serves ramen. I saw a sign for Okan Shokudo, so I went up to the second floor. There were signs on the stairs, so I was worried that the shop might be closed, but I managed to arrive. Inside the shop, there were posters of Shuji Tachibana hanging all over the place. Perhaps the owner is a fan. The shop is not very spacious, and there are side dishes lined up on the counter. The menu seems to change almost daily, as there was a week's worth of menu posted. You choose your meal from the options displayed on the counter. On that day, it was fish day, with choices like simmered flounder, grilled salmon, and grilled hokke. There was also Keema curry available. The set meal cost 1000 yen, and with coffee, it was 1300 yen. I ordered the grilled hokke set meal. It came with okonomiyaki, miso soup, and salad. Everything, including the miso soup, had a homemade feel and comforting taste. There are not many shops like this around here, so it is quite valuable. I heard they share their menu on SNS, so I want to check it out and revisit.

It was a really homely taste, like a taste from home. There were also many side dishes, and you could have unlimited rice. It was a very good lunch!
