There seem to be other regular customers (old man) fans besides me. I visited today and ordered two types of curry sets. The taste was as usual. The service was the same, with unlimited naan for lunch and a 100 yen extra charge for a large portion. Oh, the salad dressing might have changed. I saw the old man the other day, but he wasn't here today. I was wondering what happened, and then I heard from another customer at a different table that the staff mentioned the old man had returned to his home country today. He is expected to come back in one to two months.

If you want to eat high-quality butter chicken curry, this is the place to go. The butter chicken curry here is rich and deep in flavor, with a concentrated deliciousness. The quality remains consistent every time I go, I've been there over 30 times and there is no variation in taste. The naan is also soft and chewy, so if you're not a fan of crispy naan, this will suit you. I don't recommend the cheese naan, the regular naan is good enough. Also, I think just the naan is sufficient, you don't really need the rice because you can have unlimited naan refills. The large portion at this restaurant is about double the regular size. I always get the butter chicken in large size, but you can also get both options in large size, although that would be quite a lot of food. Either way, getting the large portion allows you to enjoy plenty of curry without worrying about running out of sauce. You don't have to worry about the typical Japanese curry restaurants where there is a lot of rice and very little sauce, and you have to be stingy with the sauce. So, to summarize, if you're someone who wants to eat delicious butter chicken curry in abundance, or if you can appreciate a lunch that costs just over 1000 yen for a tasty curry, I highly recommend trying this place. It's also recommended for those who want to savor a lot of sauce.

For lunch, I went to FREMONT CURRY&DELI. I was greeted in Japanese with an Indian accent when I passed by the front of the store before, "Welcome, there is a seat available in the back." I decided to stop by when I had the chance, and today was that chance. I entered the store, was seated at an available table, and looked at the menu. Sets are 900 yen for one curry, 1,000 yen for two curries, 900 yen for the ladies' set, and 1,500 yen for the Dal Bhat set. You can choose from today's curry, butter chicken, chicken, mutton, chicken keema, various vegetables, four types of beans, spinach paneer, spinach chicken, spinach mutton, seafood, and green curry. The spiciness level ranges from mild to very spicy, and you can choose from drinks like lassi, chai, and coffee. The interior of the store only has table seating, with three tables that can seat six people and three tables that can seat four people. There were six customers before me, four after me, and a few takeout customers outside. Shortly after, the curry set for 900 yen arrived, with today's curry being eggplant chicken curry, spiced as medium, and lassi as the drink. The tray came with a large piece of naan, curry, salad, dessert, and the drink. The naan was hot to tear with hands at first, but it cooled down quickly. Today, I dipped the naan into the curry instead of topping it. The medium-spiced curry had a delightful blend of various spices. The salad dressing was slightly strong, complementing the curry well. After finishing the meal, dessert was served. It was a small portion but made a big difference. I enjoyed it and it was a delicious meal.

I have visited this restaurant for lunch on weekdays many times (more than 10 times). It's my first visit on a Sunday. Today I had the Ladies Lunch set (900 yen), which included a daily vegetable chicken curry, the usual medium-spicy butter chicken, naan, and a lassi drink. As always, the curry and freshly baked naan were piping hot! There was also a small portion of tandoori chicken included, but I also ordered an additional 2 pieces of tandoori chicken (800 yen). The background music playing was Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. I really like the butter chicken curry here. It has a nice balance of spiciness and sweetness that is different from homemade curry. I also enjoy dishes like spinach paneer (cheese) and the mushroom chicken that are available on rotation. They always serve the food piping hot, which I appreciate. The plates and chairs are always clean. I also like the Nepalese man who works here - he may be hard of hearing as he speaks loudly, but he is a kind person. There was a time when he told me, "I'm going out for a delivery, be right back," and I replied, "Take care." The kitchen staff were also friendly when I paid the bill. I know times are tough right now, but I hope they keep going strong! Even if I can't visit as often, I will definitely come back!

- Two Curry Set: ¥1,000 including tax * Choice of mutton or spinach paneer * Choice of mango lassi * Choice of spiciness level * Comes with tandoori chicken and salad Located a 2-3 minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station on the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, this is an Indian and Nepalese restaurant. Despite passing by the front of the restaurant many times, I had never actually been inside. Indian and Nepalese restaurants, like ramen shops, tend to change frequently, but this place seems to have been in business for a long time. It seems to have firmly established itself and been accepted by the local community. The restaurant is not very large, seating around 5-6 groups before it gets full. It is popular among business people working nearby and residents of the area, so it can get crowded at certain times. I visited during lunchtime on a weekday, and I was fortunate to find a table when I arrived, as it became full later on. The staff here seemed a bit impatient but funny. They seemed to remember the orders of regular customers and would preemptively suggest dishes. I was taking my time to order, planning to get a regular lassi, but they brought out a mango lassi and said, "Mango lassi? OK!" Well, mango lassi is fine too. Despite the crowd, the kitchen operation seemed efficient, and the food arrived promptly. Let's dig in. [Two Curry Set (Choice of mutton or spinach paneer)]: While this may seem like a typical Indian and Nepalese restaurant dish, the flavors were delightful and comforting. This time, I chose mutton curry and spinach paneer with naan. The mutton curry consisted of boneless chunks of lamb in a creamy yogurt-tomato curry sauce with a decent amount of spices, making it a rich and flavorful curry. The spinach paneer had the distinct aroma of spinach with firm paneer cubes that released a dairy-like fragrance when chewed, perfectly complemented by the spices. I might have preferred the spinach paneer. The naan was a simple, fluffy bread. There isn't much to say about the tandoori chicken piece and salad. The mango lassi was incredibly thick and sweet, with a strong mango flavor. The spiciness was adjusted with cayenne pepper, as both curries were generously sprinkled with red powder on top. I thoroughly enjoyed the locally beloved Indian and Nepalese curry. Thank you for the meal.

I had to visit the restaurant. The tandoori chicken, yogurt, and naan were not great, but especially the curry was not delicious. The taste of the sauce was weak, more like drinking soup than eating curry. I felt really fed up, especially with the bean curry, I almost left it.

I think the curry here is sweeter compared to the nearby Indian curry restaurants. The freshly baked naan is delicious. Takeout is also available.

Today is our monthly lunch meeting! The topic for today is spicy food! With the hot days we've been having lately, we decided to sweat it out with some spicy dishes to cool down! Even though the office is cool, I still wear a fluffy hoodie and work on my computer every day. We were thinking about going to Mongolian Tanmen Chuuka, but it's a bit far and not suitable for a meeting, so we settled on a nearby curry place! I wonder if everyone goes there often? They seem to know the menu well and can quickly decide what to order! And each curry comes with two servings - it's like a ladies' set! Cheese naan, anyone? Everyone seems to be going for the ladies' set! Even Ashika is getting the ladies' set! (laughs) The daily special with potatoes and chicken is rich and delicious! The green curry is creamy with a coconut base and a spicy kick! It's mild enough to enjoy with a cafe au lait. Let's dig in! The ladies' set daily special is the same for everyone, but the spiciness level varies! Even the extra spicy one is pretty good! Seafood, four bean curry, butter chicken, assorted vegetables, and green curry - we all share and dip our naan into each other's curry! Lunch like this is so enjoyable! And the cheese naan is everyone's favorite - well worth the extra 200 yen! We replenish our naan and head into the final stretch! Oh, the dishes keep circulating around the table (laughs) With determination, we all manage to finish our meals! The air conditioning warms up our cooled bodies, and we enjoy the complimentary tea while getting down to the real business of our meeting. Sharing a meal together really sets the tone for good teamwork! Thank you for a great lunch experience!

We decided to go to a curry restaurant with my colleagues for lunch to keep it close. We ordered the lunch set. The staff at the restaurant (I think they were from Nepal) were friendly and pleasant, but unfortunately, the taste of the curry was not that great. Honestly, I was surprised that even curry can sometimes miss the mark. The restaurant was clean and had a nice sense of style for a Nepalese curry place, but it was disappointing. Sorry to those who like it. I have nothing more to comment on.

This place is just a stone's throw away from the 201501 base, but it's been a long time since I last visited. Despite being so close, sometimes you end up not going. I completely forgot to read my previous review that said "next time, let's definitely order the spicy option" and ended up ordering the "normal" spiciness, which turned out to be not spicy at all. This time, I ordered the Ladies Set for 900 yen. The daily curry was Takana Chicken Curry, and the other curry options were Spinach Mutton (which was new to me) and Butter Chicken for my friend. We had Mango Lassi to drink (my friend had Oolong tea). The curry comes in one plate and dessert is also included. The Mango Jelly dessert was very small, almost just a bite-sized portion. The curry was light, not very spicy, and lacked richness. It may not appeal to everyone, but it has a gentle taste that is easy for anyone to eat. The naan was freshly baked, but I personally didn't find it to my liking. I prefer naan with a sweeter taste. The fact that they cut and serve the extra naan is kind and convenient. The salad bowl is large and easy to eat from, which is nice. The taste, to be honest, is not outstandingly delicious, but the clean interior, friendly staff, and pleasant atmosphere seem to attract a lot of female customers. I wish the taste was better so I could visit more often, but the reasonable price and welcoming atmosphere make it easy to invite female friends. Next time, I definitely want to try a slightly spicier option and savor the flavor. In 201209, I visited with a friend to enjoy the affordable Ladies Set lunch. The set includes two curries (one daily special and one of your choice), naan or rice, salad, drink, and dessert. The daily special was Long Potato and Chicken. I chose the Mutton curry. I found the normal spiciness level to be not spicy at all, so I should have gone for a slightly spicier option. The naan was more on the crispy side, which I didn't particularly like (I prefer a softer texture). However, since they offer free refills, I had plenty. The salad was mainly cabbage with sesame dressing, and it was a generous portion for a set salad. I chose a lassi from the variety of drink options. It was served in the same cup as water, which made me chuckle. The dessert was a small bite-sized mango pudding, but it was delicious. The Long Potato curry was a refreshing change, and I was surprised by how well the potato went with the curry. We went early, so there weren't many other customers, and we could relax in the cozy seating area. With the recent opening of Shinjuku East Side Square right behind, I imagine it gets crowded during weekday lunches. I prefer the curry and naan at "Sansaar," but since this place is so close, I'll probably visit occasionally. Next time, I'll definitely order the spicy option.

I often pass by this restaurant while driving on the roadside, as I live nearby. I remembered the Leaf-like sign that caught my eye. I decided to visit for lunch for the first time while working in the area. It was already past 1 o'clock, but the owner, or perhaps the head chef, greeted me with a smile and welcomed me inside. The atmosphere inside was bright, and the kitchen staff also greeted me warmly. Their polite and friendly service made me feel at ease on my first visit. I ordered the Ladies' Set (900 yen) which includes a daily curry and a choice of favorite curry. I chose Seafood Mix as my favorite curry and had an Iced Chai to drink. The daily curry that day was Pumpkin and Chicken. You can choose the level of spiciness, and since it was my first time, I chose "normal." You can have unlimited refills of naan and rice, and when I hesitated, they kindly suggested having both with a smile. The salad had a sesame-flavored dressing. The freshly baked naan was cut into easy-to-eat pieces. It was delicious with a moderate chewiness and a hint of sweetness. On the right side was Pumpkin and Chicken curry. The sweetness of the pumpkin blended well with the curry. It seemed like a flavor that children would enjoy. The chicken was very tender, without the skin, and it crumbled in the mouth. On the left side was the Seafood Mix curry, which had squid, shrimp, and clams. It had a seafood base and was not oily. It was light and slightly sweet even at the normal spiciness level. I would like to try it a bit spicier next time. The small milk jelly dessert was refreshing and mildly sweet, perhaps made with turmeric. It had no overwhelming spice flavor. The Iced Chai had plenty of milk and a mild spice aroma. Even when paying, they received the money with both hands and said, "Please come again." I was impressed by their hospitality, which seemed more considerate than that of Japanese people. I would definitely visit again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal.

This is a Nepalese restaurant located very close to Square Enix. I decided to get takeout, and it seems they only offer takeout from their evening menu. I ordered the Lamb Masala for 1100 yen and Cheese Naan for 500 yen. While waiting, they kindly offered me a lassi. The restaurant is very clean and has a different atmosphere compared to typical Indian/Nepalese restaurants. It feels like a place where even women can comfortably dine alone. When my order was ready, they also included a small salad as a bonus. With the lassi and salad included, the total price of 1600 yen felt reasonable. The curry was a lamb curry with boiled eggs, featuring a nice touch of bell peppers and onions. Looking at the evening menu, they also offer Dal Bhat for 1800 yen. It may be a bit on the pricey side, but considering the good service, atmosphere, and overall experience, I found it to be a satisfying dining option.

There is a quiet Indian-Nepalese restaurant located near the Nuiten Shrine, heading towards from Higashi-Shinjuku Station. I decided to try it out after seeing a flyer for a 290 yen draft beer service. The interior of the restaurant is small, with about 5 tables, giving a somewhat cramped feeling. I ordered a draft beer, confirming with the staff that it is indeed 290 yen no matter how many you drink. The staff, who seemed to be locals, tried to engage in conversation and were friendly. For snacks, I ordered samosas for 750 yen and momos for 700 yen, which seemed a bit pricey. For the main meal, I had the Nepalese set meal called "Dal Bhat" for 1800 yen, which came with 3 types of curry, making it quite expensive. In comparison, a nearby restaurant called Sansar offers a similar meal for 1500 yen. I personally prefer the food at Sansar. You can choose the spiciness level of the curry, and I opted for super hot, but it was not as spicy as expected. Nepalese cuisine is generally not very spicy, but I was a bit disappointed. Lastly, I ordered "Chowmein" for 900 yen, which is Nepalese fried noodles, but it was a bit greasy and not impressive.
