I stayed at Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel and had lunch buffet and bread from the bakery. The main dishes at the lunch buffet were roast pork and tempura. I thought the price of 2500 yen was a bit high, but I guess it's because it's a tourist spot. When I went to the bakery just after it opened at 8 o'clock, there were not many options yet. The main breads are said to be available around 10 o'clock.

On the second day of my Hokkaido trip, our itinerary included a visit to Goryokaku from La Vista Hakodate Bay, followed by Oonuma Park, and lunch at Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel. Unfortunately, the cloudy sky prevented us from seeing the majestic Mount Komagatake, but we were able to explore Goryokaku, Oonuma, and Koonuma. The Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel has the Hokkaido Country Club attached to it. It must be so nice to play golf in such a place, surrounded by the greenery. As we walked through the greenery, a beautiful low-rise hotel appeared. It blended in with the greenery, creating a lovely atmosphere. We were guided to the hotel's dining room, which had a spacious area with high ceilings and glass windows on the south side. It was a beautiful dining restaurant. Tables were set up by the windows and along the walls, and the tables for two by the windows offered a great view (unfortunately, we were seated by the wall). We were served an appetizer first, with fresh vegetables and prosciutto. The plate was chilled, enhancing the freshness of the vegetables. Next, we had corn soup, which had the sweetness of corn and the rich taste of high-quality cream. Then, bread and the main dish of pork sauté arrived. The meat was topped with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The bread was warm. Finally, we had dessert to finish the meal. Even though we weren't very hungry after having the best breakfast in Japan earlier, we managed to finish the meal at this top-notch hotel. The lunch at the hotel may not have been top-grade in terms of content, but the taste was truly satisfying. We didn't stay long as we headed to our next destination, but it was a lovely hotel where you could spend a leisurely time. Thank you for the meal!

The night before, I enjoyed the night view of Hakodate from a Japanese restaurant at the foot of the mountain. Since I arrived at the hotel after 9 PM, breakfast the next morning was my first meal. The breakfast buffet featured local Hokkaido ingredients. The handmade onigiri, which you can have made on the spot, was popular. The best part of my 3-night stay was the small bottle of milk. The menu included soy meat and apple keema curry, steamed potatoes with squid shiokara, and Misuzu coffee jelly.

Travel agency's Onuma Hakodate tour, solo three-night stay at the same hotel, Onuma Prince Hotel. I was delighted when they made onigiri for breakfast. Usually I'm the one making them, so having someone make them for me was truly delightful. When I asked for a recommendation, they suggested mixing ikura with wasabi soy sauce and mackerel, and it was delicious. The onigiri was warm and fluffy, truly delicious. I will have it again tomorrow. There are about 10 times more side dishes than shown in the photo. The hotel has a large communal bath with a view of the lake, and an outdoor bath. There is a shuttle bus between Onuma Station and the hotel, and a convenience store inside the hotel. You can take a walk in the surrounding forest. The magnificent view can be enjoyed from the room and restaurant. It's a great hotel.

Located in the Onuma area of Nanae Town, a hotel nestled in the forest just a short distance from Route 5 heading towards Onuma. We stayed here for one night during our trip to Hakodate. As it is a Prince hotel, we had no complaints about the facilities and service. This time, we opted for a plan without dinner, but even with that, including hot springs and breakfast, it was around 13,000 yen per person, which we found to be reasonable. Breakfast was served in a spacious buffet-style dining area, with a wide variety of dishes that, while mostly standard, were all delicious. Being in the forest, it was a very quiet space at night, allowing us to relax and unwind. Additionally, there are activities such as golf and Segway tours available, making it a great accommodation option for those visiting the Hakodate area.

I stayed and made a reservation to visit this place. The restaurant is spacious and clean, with a view of the forest. When it gets dark, it is illuminated, but the overall feeling is just okay. There are a lot of moths that come close to the lights when it gets dark. I don't mind moths, but there were some really beautiful white ones. The drink menu is extensive, but whether it goes well with the food is questionable. There were many local wines available. The dishes were a mix of delicious and creative dishes along with some ordinary ones. The ingredients are good quality, but there were some that were just okay. Unfortunately, the service of the food was slow, and the staff hardly paid attention to the tables. So, even if you order a wine bottle, you have to pour it yourself. I think service is important, but since the wine was affordable, it wasn't a big deal. I believe a better wine service would be beneficial. It seemed like they weren't really considering the pace at which customers were eating. The dishes were served at the restaurant's pace. It was a bit disappointing.

I found a plan for a half-price stay at Nanae Onuma. I was able to combine it with a discount plan, which made me wonder if it was too good to be true. There were a few groups of tourists returning, and it seems like there are also long-stay plans available, with many golfers around. The dinner time was a bit crowded, but it wasn't fully booked, so I could enjoy a quiet stay. The hot spring was nice with its smooth water, and it wasn't crowded, which I liked. There is a souvenir shop, and also a morning market in front of the hotel where fishermen sell their produce, but it might feel awkward to enter if you're not planning to buy anything. The breakfast was served in a buffet style on the 3rd floor, no reservation needed. I couldn't decide between rice or bread, so I had a bit of both. The homemade dishes and freshly sautéed maitake mushrooms were delicious. The chiffon cake with tea flavor for dessert was also great. The onigiri made on the spot and the DIY hot sandwich corner were popular among guests. Nowadays, many hotels focus on their breakfast offerings, so compared to those, this one felt a bit lacking.

I stayed here for one night. The breakfast venue is well-prepared for infection prevention, and you can be captivated by the beautiful view of Komagatake mountain through the large windows. The buffet-style breakfast offers a variety of Japanese and Western dishes, all served in small plates that are almost overflowing. The highlight is the freshly made onigiri, with about 8 different fillings to choose from, including a mix of mentaiko and ikura, and salmon and mountain wasabi. The staff recommended the salmon and mountain wasabi combination, which was delicious! The taste of the onigiri is truly enjoyable. It's a mystery why simply wrapping rice in seaweed makes it taste even better. Considering the effort of making onigiri, it's not something you often do for breakfast. This is a luxury treat. The staff member was friendly, cheerful, and gave off positive energy. It really brightened my morning. In addition to milk and coffee, there are unlimited drinks like cola and juice. The bread is individually wrapped, and there is a variety of dishes such as natto, nikujaga, scrambled eggs, nori, and pickled vegetables. The potatoes from Memuro were also delicious. By the way, the mystical and fantastical open-air bath here is truly amazing. Highly recommended for those who want to relax and enjoy nature. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I spent early summer in Hokkaido again this year at the Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel. I had the Chef's Special Course at the dining, which is a reasonable dinner course that combines Japanese and Western dishes using local ingredients. Oh, all the dishes were delicious this year. The highlight was the baron potato potage soup, it was exquisite. I'm looking forward to it again next year. Update: The "Gasubari" sake, which was produced by chefs from Hakodate in collaboration with a sake brewery in Aomori, was amazing. It's a limited edition only available in Hakodate, so it's a shame you can't buy it online.

Some people may associate "Prince Hotel" with the symbol of the bubble era, while others may think of it as a resort. This particular Prince Hotel seems to attract golf enthusiasts. The bathing facilities are not particularly large, but the view from the open-air bath overlooking the pond and forest is elegant and enjoyable. The rooms are around 25 square meters and decent. When breakfast is served buffet-style, there is plenty to eat and enjoy.

At Lake Toya Prince Hotel, surrounded by nature, guests will have their meals at the hotel during their stay. Upon arrival earlier than the check-in time, I had the famous Uni Curry Pasta for lunch. For dinner, I enjoyed the Chef's Select Course, with the main dishes being pan-fried Lake Toya beef and butter soy sauce grilled abalone. For breakfast, there was a course featuring freshly baked bread from the Prince's bakery. Despite not being a buffet, the sausages and bacon were surprisingly delicious.

It was also an option to go outside the hotel for dinner, but we couldn't find much besides Lucky Pierrot's burgers, and taking it back to the room to eat felt a bit lonely. So, we reluctantly decided to have dinner at the hotel. We opted for à la carte in the main dining room to avoid the risk of overeating at the buffet in the evening. Here's what we ordered: Jun-sai lemon vinegar for 850 yen, truffle-scented risotto croquette for 2100 yen, abalone with kelp soy butter for 2100 yen, snow crab tempura for 2100 yen, and two sets of rice, mini salad, and soup for 1800 yen. We also had Oonuma Kirsch beer for 1260 yen, Oonuma India Pale Ale for 1260 yen, and apple juice for 520 yen. In total, it came to almost 12,000 yen for two adults and one child. The value for money wasn't great, but that's expected at a resort. The taste of all the dishes was delicious, although the tempura dipping sauce was a bit salty. It would have been better to enjoy the taste of the ingredients without the dipping sauce. The abalone was surprisingly small but delicious. The highlight was the local beer. It was a bit pricey, but it really gave a sense of being in Oonuma, and the beer itself was very tasty. The India Pale Ale, with 8% alcohol content, had a good bitterness and richness. The view and atmosphere were very luxurious, making it a truly indulgent dinner!

The other day, my family stayed at this hotel. The building is old but has been renovated to a certain extent, and the rooms are reasonably clean. Dinner was a course with roast beef. The meat was so-so, but the sauce was excellent, as expected from Prince. The other dishes exceeded expectations and were good. Thank you for the meal.

On November 3, 2018 (Saturday) at 20:23 (from the receipt), I made some purchases for drinking in the hotel's convenience store. After finishing an early dinner and having a drink with the hotel's tipsy set, I still felt unsatisfied. So this time, I decided to drink in my room. I got some snacks from Hokkaido! Smoked whelk for 378 yen was softer and tastier than I expected. It might be good to eat it sliced. Canned snack - lamb meat Genghis Khan style for 648 yen had a salty sauce, but you could taste the lamb. Canned snack - Ezo deer meat (tomato stew) for 864 yen had bright red meat when you opened the lid. It didn't have a strong taste and was meaty with a tomato flavor. Looking forward to sightseeing tomorrow. Good night!

At Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel, their specialty steamed uni dish has a strong curry flavor, so you can only slightly taste the uni. However, it still somehow tastes delicious.

I visited the buffet restaurant at the Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel, which is actually more like a banquet hall. The variety of dishes was quite good, with a surprising number of options available. The best part of a buffet is being able to enjoy your favorite foods at your own pace, which I appreciated. It's a self-service style, where you pick up a "dining in progress" card when you enter and choose your seat. When you finish eating, you return the card and dishes. Overall, it was a typical breakfast experience at a Prince Hotel.

I arrived at the ferry terminal in Aomori at night and didn't feel like driving all the way to Sapporo, so I decided to stay overnight in Onuma. I wasn't planning on reviewing the hotel breakfast since they all seem pretty similar, but this one had a special menu so I thought I'd share my thoughts. It was at Onuma Prince Hotel, a place I haven't been to in a while and I love their outdoor baths. My partner and I enjoyed soaking while reminiscing about our time in Aomori. As for breakfast, I wasn't expecting anything special, but they had a great service - made-to-order rice balls! You could choose from salmon, kelp, plum, wasabi soy sauce, Matsumae pickles, salt-grilled mackerel, and another one I forgot. You could have as many as you wanted from the buffet. I was so happy about this! I wanted to have two, but I couldn't decide between the salt-grilled mackerel and the wasabi soy, so I chose the wasabi. The lady making the rice balls was so kind and her smile was lovely. After she made it for me, she said, "Please enjoy as much as you like, I'll be waiting for you." Her kind words made my morning so much better. Thanks to her, my partner and I had a great time on our way back, both smiling. Good customer service is so important. I would definitely come back to have the rice balls made by that lovely lady.
