The other day, I felt like eating fish for lunch so I searched and found this place. I ordered the daily set meal with hokke and it was delicious. The fish was juicy, fresh, and tasty. I thought it was really cheap for the quality. I want to try a different menu next time.

Today was the Lake Toya Marathon! I ran 10km and then came here. Usually it's my husband's choice, but today I went all out! haha... But even so, I couldn't finish it all by myself, so I shared some onigiri with my husband who ordered them. There's plenty of chicken, vegetables, and tartar sauce! It was delicious again today ♡ Thank you for the meal.

At this shop with a ticket vending machine, my husband headed straight to the vending machine for a Chicken Nanban while I looked at the menu and decided that I wanted the scallops. Last time I had the Scallop Cream Croquette set, but this time it was a set with fried scallops and cream croquettes. The side dish today was macaroni salad. The scallop fry came with 5 pieces and the cream croquettes with 2 pieces, both in easy-to-eat sizes. They were served with tartar sauce and another sauce. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

We stayed at a hotel without meals included, thinking there might be something nearby, but we were too lazy to go out and couldn't find any information on the shops. So we went to the cafeteria in the hotel. It seemed like a place where locals also visit, with a lot of hearty menu options. Since there didn't seem to be any snacks to go with drinks, my husband and I, both over 50, ordered a sashimi set, scallop grill, and beer. Oh, it's a food ticket system. The sashimi set was the best we had on this trip! We were amazed by the thickness of the sashimi. The scallops were also delicious! It was a bit of a hassle to get a refill on beer with the food ticket system, but we were still very satisfied. We're already talking about wanting to go back again.

Located along the coast of Toyoura town, where scallop aquaculture is the main industry, is the Shiosai natural Toyoura Onsen. The restaurant at this onsen, Shiosai, is open to both bathers and non-bathers. The restaurant is situated on the left side immediately upon entering the main entrance of the onsen. Shiosai is located near Toyoura fishing port, next to Toyoura Beach Park Campground, just a 7-8 minute walk from JR Toyoura Station.
I visited the restaurant around noon on March 18, 2023. I ordered the Seafood Fried Rice for 800 yen with a large size upgrade for an additional 110 yen, and a noodle set (choice of hot or cold soba or udon) for an extra 110 yen. The restaurant was initially quiet when I arrived, with only two local customers, but it quickly filled up by the time my food was served. The portion of the Seafood Fried Rice was unexpectedly large, and the taste and quantity exceeded my expectations. The dish was flavorful with a generous amount of fresh scallops, making it incredibly delicious. The meal was so satisfying that I was glad I decided to eat despite having had breakfast just two hours prior in Muroran. The soba noodles were also tasty, and I could see why locals frequent this restaurant for their meals.

Toyora Onsen is a place I often visit, but it's been a while since I last had lunch there. My husband quickly headed to the ticket machine for the Chicken Nanban. I hesitated a bit and ended up choosing the Scallop Cream Croquette set meal. They opened at 11:30 and by 11:40, the place was already full. There were a lot of solo diners as well. The Croquette and Chicken Nanban arrived in that order. The Scallop Cream Croquette didn't have as much scallop flavor as I expected, but it was delicious. The Chicken Nanban had a generous amount of cabbage and chicken! The side dish was a meat and potato stew. I'm stuffed! Thank you for the meal.

Scallop ankake yakisoba (crispy noodles) flavor was just okay, the sauce was too watery from the beginning. On my second visit, I tried the Katsudon soba set. The Katsudon was incredibly delicious, with the pork cutlet having a strong and tasty flavor. I forgot to take a picture of the Katsudon, but it was really good. The soba noodles were average.

Toyora Lunch. I couldn't find the place I wanted to go to because it was closed, so I ended up coming here where they must definitely be open. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with raised seating areas and many tables. I thought it might be a restaurant attached to a hot spring, but it is quite spacious and well-maintained. I bought a meal ticket and placed my order. There were many elderly people in line to buy meal tickets. It was a bit hot that day, so I wanted to order something cold, but they only had warm menu items. I ordered a bowl dish that I could eat quickly. It arrived in about 10 minutes. It was just delicious. I didn't take a photo, but the ankake yakisoba that my mother ordered was shocking. It was a huge portion. Most of the customers were elderly, so I wonder about the menu composition. But surely, it is a place for the local residents to relax.

This was my second visit to this restaurant. This time, I tried Toyora Onsen for the first time. It was great that they were open for business even on January 2nd. We arrived at 17:05 for dinner, which starts at 17:00. We sat at a table and looked at the menu before going to the ticket machine to order. It's better not to rush at the ticket machine and there are some items not listed on it. I had the sashimi set meal (1430 yen) and my husband had the scallop ankake yakisoba (820 yen). The sashimi included 11 types of seafood, along with egg garnish and various side dishes like kinpira, pickles, miso soup, and rice. It was very filling. The scallop ankake yakisoba was delicious with vinegar added. Thank you for the meal.

When you come to Toyora, try the scallops! My husband had the scallop fry set meal, and I had the shrimp and scallop mixed set meal. The shrimp and scallop mixed set meal comes with rice, miso soup, pickles, a small dish of shrimp and scallop mix, chawanmushi, and strawberry mousse. The shrimp and scallop mix includes 2 split shrimp fries and 2 split scallop fries. The chawanmushi has chestnuts and baby scallops inside. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal! The payment is made by purchasing a food ticket and handing it to the table. However, there are some menu items that are not available on the ticket machine, so it might be better to sit at the table, check the menu, and then buy the food ticket from the machine. It is now December. Today, there were fishermen who caught autumn salmon. In the summer, it seems like you can enjoy swimming in the sea. It's a facility where you can go fishing or swimming, then soak in a hot spring and enjoy delicious food.

[Restaurant Review - Not at Nagisa no Shirabe]
Although it's not at Nagisa no Shirabe, after a day trip to the hot springs, I remembered the soft serve ice cream that I had been curious about before, so I decided to order it. I ordered a soft serve ice cream in a small beer mug (300 yen) and enjoyed it with plenty of soft serve ice cream. I chose to order it because they didn't skimp on the amount of soft serve ice cream and even added corn flakes, which left a good impression on me. There were no fruits included, but for 300 yen, I was satisfied with the generous amount of ice cream.

I had dinner in Toyoura Town. I decided to check out a restaurant located inside the Toyoura Onsen Shiosai facility. I headed to "Restaurant Nagisa no Shirabe." First, I chose my menu at the ticket machine, which had a wide variety of options. Since this place is along the Funka Bay, I thought the fish would be delicious, so I chose the "Toyoura sashimi set" (1430 yen). It was served in about 10 minutes. It had salmon, cured mackerel, bonito, octopus, shirako, and button shrimp. Oh, there's no scallop sashimi even though it's along Funka Bay... Disappointing. I finished the meal, but the sashimi tasted like a supermarket sashimi platter. I was hoping for something fresher and tastier. I should have chosen a different menu... Thank you for the meal.

My car camping spot, Toyora Kaihin Park. After soaking in the hot spring at Shiosai, I had my first meal at the restaurant here. Even though I had already taken a bath multiple times. The menu was extensive. When you think of Toyora, you think of scallops and SPF pork. This time, I had the scallop fry set meal and the Toyora sashimi set meal. I also had bottled beer. The scallop stir-fried noodles seemed to be a popular choice around me. When they arrived, the scallop fry was quite substantial! The sweetness of the scallops was irresistible. The sashimi had 9 different types of fish and was quite delicious, making for a satisfying dinner. Next time, I'll try the scallop stir-fried noodles and the SPF pork tonkatsu.

This is a restaurant located in Shiosai Onsen. There are few places to eat in Toyora, so options are limited. This time, I tried the tempura soba for 890 yen, and the flavor was strong. Unfortunately, the noodles were a bit overcooked. The best thing to eat here is the ramen.

The scallop and egg set meal offers plump and juicy scallops, allowing you to enjoy the gentle taste of scallops luxuriously! Both the flavor and portion size are very satisfying!

Toyora went on a short trip to Chisato no Yu. There were many shops around, but they decided to have lunch at the restaurant inside the facility. They had scallops and pork. The scallops were delicious.

"Tendon with crispy coating in a rich sauce was delicious! There was a tempura of egg omelette for the first time... The female staff's voice was a bit loud and distracting, but she was very energetic."

From Sapporo, it takes about 2 hours to cross the Nakayama Pass and drive along Lake Toya, whether you take the highway or not. This place is called Funka Bay. It's a beach and camping site. There are unlimited tent sites without reservations, but the neighbors are too close for comfort. Since I'm not a strong camper, I opt for restaurants for meals and choose places with hot springs. The restaurant attached to the hot spring serves food unrelated to the local area. For lunch, I had pork cutlet rice bowl and for dinner, cold udon noodles. I drank a liter of canned beer at lunch and felt unwell, losing my appetite by dinner time. The pork cutlet rice bowl was average, while the cold udon noodles were overly chewy, almost difficult to bite through. My companion had stir-fried noodles for lunch and soy sauce ramen for dinner.

The restaurant "Nagisa no Shirabe" is a dining facility attached to the "Tennen Toyoura Onsen Shiosai," and it is possible to use the restaurant without bathing in the hot springs. It is a valuable option as there are not many dining places open at night around Toyoura, but it is unfortunate that the closing time is early. The menu mainly consists of dishes using Toyoura's specialty scallops, as well as standard set meals. There are also some unique dishes such as those made with ostrich meat. I ordered the "Toyoura Scallop Fry Set Meal," which was quite filling for the price.
