I had a few curry rice restaurants in mind around the area past JR Temma Station that I was planning to choose from, but as I passed by this restaurant, I couldn't resist going in. I was unusually indecisive, changing my order a few times before finally settling on the "Grilled Silver Salmon with Saikyo Miso Set". Eating salmon in Saikyo style felt a bit more luxurious compared to the usual salt-grilled salmon. The salmon was grilled open-style and finished off on charcoal, giving it a very satisfying texture. There were a few bones, but that's to be expected with fish, so I skillfully avoided them while eating. The rice was cooked in a traditional pot, which made it extra delicious compared to rice cooked in an electric rice cooker. I couldn't help but finish every single grain of rice. The dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) had a nice soft texture and went well with grated daikon radish, making it perfect for a hot day. The miso soup had tiny clams in it, although they were a bit small, I enjoyed the flavor they added, especially since I was feeling a bit hungover. It was great to discover this restaurant as a place where you can truly enjoy your meal.

When I mentioned that I was dining alone, I was shown to a counter seat and served with cold water and a wet towel. Orders were placed using a tablet. Although I had already decided on my order outside the restaurant, I checked the menu to see what other options were available. It seemed unusual to have Saikyo-yaki on the regular menu. Once the order was placed, the staff started grilling the fish fillet on a wire mesh. Watching this process made me excited. Since there were few customers, the food was served in about 10 minutes. Along with the main dish of grilled Saikyo salmon, the meal included four side dishes (omelette, potato salad, spinach with sesame dressing, pickles) and red miso soup with rice. The freshly grilled Saikyo-yaki was hot and delicious. The side dishes seemed to be pre-made, but the clam red miso soup was served hot. It's a small detail, but important. The grilling of the Saikyo-yaki was just right, not undercooked or burnt miso. I hope they can maintain this quality even during busy times. I opted for a large serving of rice for an additional 100 yen, but it felt slightly small for those who want a hearty meal. Considering that each set meal costs over 1,000 yen, this was a bit disappointing. The Saikyo-yaki was delicious with perfect grilling, and the side dishes (excluding pickles) were enjoyable. Feeling like Japanese food today, I wandered around the street and found a nice set meal restaurant. I ordered the grilled mackerel set meal. The fish was fatty and the rice was delicious. It's recommended for when you want to eat something light.

Although the brand is different, this place offers a similar menu and pricing to a certain charcoal-grilled dried fish restaurant mainly located in the Kanto region. However, in this shopping street, a grilled fish restaurant is rare, and there seems to be no direct competition. The pricing is great, as even if you order the cheapest mackerel salt-grilled set meal and a draft beer, it won't cost you more than a thousand yen.

I wasn't in the mood for drinking after work, so I came to eat healthy Japanese food! My friend had a great appetite. They had their hair neatly styled and looked cool!

It was delicious, but I asked for no pickles and there was a plum on it, which was disappointing. The miso soup is not tasty.
