I visited this local diner during my trip to Hokkaido. They have a counter and a raised seating area, and the portions are huge. You'll definitely leave feeling full. It's just the right amount for someone who exercises regularly. They had a signed photo of Tanaka Ma-kun from his Komazawa Tomakomai days. It's a shame they don't serve beer.

When I was 26 years old (several decades ago, haha), I used to work at a nearby factory where this long-standing restaurant was already operating. Back then, I was single and would frequently go there for lunch. I often ate the chicken cutlet set meal and pork cutlet bowl. There must be a reason why this place has become a long-standing establishment. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff create a great atmosphere. I couldn't resist. I ordered the chicken cutlet set meal with extra rice, bringing back memories of those days. I couldn't help but devour it with nostalgia. Even at my age now, a delicious set meal is still irresistible. There's a reason why long-standing restaurants become long-standing. I will definitely visit again.

On this day, we drove to Ebetsu and stopped by a roadside station. I heard that the set meal comes with ramen instead of miso soup, so we decided to visit Fukuryu, a well-known restaurant. We arrived a bit early, about 15 minutes before opening time. The restaurant has been around since 1968, so it's a long-standing eatery. We ordered the shrimp fry set meal and curry cutlet for my wife. The atmosphere felt a bit unwelcoming, maybe because it seemed like they were busy with takeout orders. The food was served quickly, and I was surprised by the small portion size. The shrimp fry was crispy and delicious, but I wished there was more. The salt ramen was light and tasty, perfect for those who like a mild flavor. I would like to come back next time to try the salt ramen to my heart's content. The dressing for the vegetables looked like chawanmushi, which was a bit surprising. My wife found the curry cutlet to have a homely taste, but it was okay. Despite the slightly off-putting ambiance, the salt ramen was delicious, so I would like to come back for it next time. Thank you for the meal.

In the afternoon, I had some business in Ebetsu. I had lunch at a popular diner in Ebetsu that offers a hearty set menu. I had the Mini Pork Cutlet Set for 1,000 yen. The crispy pork cutlet was not "mini" at all! It came with tofu, red and white pickled vegetables, 3 slices of pickled radish, and natto. The rice portion was huge and it also came with a side of salt ramen, which was piping hot. It was a feast! Thank you for the meal!

Today, I went to New Chitose Airport for some errands and planned to have lunch on the way back. I had originally intended to go to a Jiro-style ramen shop in Chitose City, but when I arrived, the atmosphere was not great. They were closing before 12 pm, which was disappointing. Feeling a bit betrayed, I wandered to Ebetsu and stumbled upon this restaurant. It was around 11:30 am, and the parking lot was empty, so I easily found a spot to park. Inside, there was only one other customer. I decided to order the "Grilled Pork Set Meal" for ¥950 including tax. The order was quickly prepared, and after about 10 minutes, it was ready. The grilled pork was generously served, and the side dishes were nice, especially the homemade pickles. The rice portion was average, and it also came with natto, which was a nice touch. The ramen, however, was a mini size, which was a bit disappointing. It was more like a small side dish. But when I tasted it, the mini ramen was delicious! The soup was particularly tasty, and it stayed hot for a long time, probably due to the layer of lard on top. The rice was a bit of a letdown, and the strong flavor of the grilled pork covered up the mediocre rice. Overall, I felt that the potential of the meal was hindered by the disappointing rice. I finished the ramen soup and found it so delicious that I wanted to come back soon to try their salt ramen.

I visited a ramen shop located in a residential area of Ebine City in November 2022. The restaurant has table seating and counter seating. Looking at the menu, they offer ramen, soba, udon, and rice bowls. I ordered soy sauce ramen and a small rice bowl. It took less than 10 minutes for the food to be served. I was surprised to find that natto and a small side dish were included! I was hesitant to have natto rice with ramen, but I decided to try it. The soup was lukewarm and a bit disappointing. It had a good saltiness and a slightly sweet old-fashioned ramen flavor. The noodles were cooked just right and had a good curly texture. As for the natto rice, it was not of high quality and had a crunchy texture. The combination with the ramen was not great, but the service was excellent and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice.

Today, my wife and I visited a restaurant called Aji no Fukuryu in the Eniwa City area for a quick errand. I wanted to eat ramen, while my wife wanted a set meal. The restaurant had a retro Showa era atmosphere, which we liked. We ordered the following: - Char siu ramen with salt (for me) - Katsu-don (pork cutlet rice bowl) (for my wife) The katsu-don arrived first, with a generous portion and a light brown color that showed the skill of the chef. It came with miso soup, salad, pickles, and a mini soba noodle side dish. My wife couldn't finish it all, so we agreed to share. Then, the char siu ramen arrived. The clear soup looked appetizing and the toppings included char siu pork, bamboo shoots, green onions, fish cake, and more. It was a basic salt ramen with a delicious taste that I really enjoyed. It reminded me of the ramen from Goban in Tomakomai. I quickly finished the soup and then shared the katsu-don with my wife. The pork cutlet was tender and thick, coated in egg with a flavorful seasoning. We also enjoyed the mini soba noodles. We left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I had a mini tonkatsu set meal. It came with a mini ramen and a regular-sized tonkatsu. The tonkatsu was lightly seasoned, so I dipped it generously in sauce. It also came with side dishes like pickles, namasu, natto, and tofu, so it was quite a filling meal. Surprisingly, I finished it all in no time. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back again!笑

For dinner, I went to "Fukuryu" and completed conquering all the ramen shops in Ebetsu city. Just as I was procrastinating, a new shop opened. Excluding the airport and Rera, there are about 5 ramen shops left in Chitose. There were no other customers when I arrived, but later two groups of customers came in. I ordered the "Mini Katsu Set Meal (¥900)". The fried items take some time to prepare, so let's wait patiently. After about 10 minutes, the plate arrived... Oh my goodness! The rumors and photos were true, the portion size is huge! Can you see the volume in the photos? It includes rice, natto, 6 pieces of tonkatsu, cabbage, pickled daikon, cold tofu, and a side dish, along with a soup that they call ramen! The ramen is indeed mini, like a half-size compared to a regular bowl, but it seems to have the same amount as a regular or large size bowl at a regular ramen shop. Have I stepped into a large serving shop? If the ramen was full size, it could potentially compete with "Ko○ Ichiban" ... well, maybe not that far. But for ¥900, this is a great deal! The mini ramen that comes with the set meal is always salt-based, so it's definitely a salt ramen specialty here. It feels like they replaced the chashu with wheat gluten. In addition to the wheat gluten, the naruto and green onions indicate a nostalgic old-fashioned flavor that I like! The slightly higher salt content, related to the old-fashioned preparation, surprisingly doesn't bother me much. The chewy medium-thick curly noodles also have a nice texture! The tonkatsu is more crispy than crunchy. It is fried with a light pink color, well done, and while it's not the type that oozes meat juice like a Western or tonkatsu restaurant, the meat itself is flavorful, tender, and delicious! I prefer tonkatsu or hamburgers with a moderate pink color, so I like this frying method! The fact that the breading doesn't come off easily is also a plus. Wait, isn't the tonkatsu not really mini-sized? (laughs) Despite being on the verge of leaving some food behind, I managed to finish everything by taking breaks with cabbage, cold tofu, side dishes, and pickled daikon. Even with a modest breakfast on weekdays and almost just drinks for lunch, it was tough for me! But being able to eat to my heart's content at a reasonable price is very satisfying, and the option to leave food on the table is too kind! Next time, I'll choose between ramen or a rice bowl. Thank you for the meal.

Salt ramen for 700 yen in April 2022. Established in 1968 in Eniwa Wakamachi, this old-fashioned diner exudes a nostalgic Showa era vibe. Despite it being past 1 pm, the parking lot was full, so we had to wait a bit. The interior was authentically retro, run by an elderly couple with thin cushions. The extensive menu includes noodles, rice bowls, and set meals. I had the salt ramen, while my husband had the pork cutlet curry. The simple presentation appealed to me, and the soup, though slightly salty, was delicious. The curly noodles were a Sapporo classic, and the thick slices of small pork chashu, wheat gluten, green onions, and bamboo shoots added to the authentic Showa feel. I also tried the curry, which had a nostalgic yellow hue and a thick consistency, complemented by a homemade pork cutlet that was tender and flavorful. It was a delightful meal.

It's summer. Yesterday, Orido Town in Hokkaido was the hottest place in Japan, reaching 35.3°C. On the other hand, the coldest place was also in Hokkaido, with 12.0°C in Kamishihoro Town. Hokkaido is known for its extreme temperatures. Sapporo also reached 32.3°C... it was hot. But for Hokkaido residents who are buried in snow for half of the year, the heat is hard to handle. On days like this, you crave something cold and refreshing. A local recommended a great restaurant called "Aji no Fukuryu" which offers cold noodle dishes during this season. They have chilled noodles, cold curry ramen, cold noodle soup with miso, cold ramen, somen noodles, and hiyamugi. I wonder what to eat... I decided to try the whole wheat "Cold Curry Ramen" with mini rice for 800 yen. I've never had cold curry ramen before... The cold noodles are mixed with cold soup and topped with curry roux. The noodles were thoroughly rinsed in water so they were cold, but the curry roux was neither hot nor cold. As instructed by the staff, after mixing well, the "cold curry ramen" turned into "room temperature curry ramen." The slightly sweet curry paired well with the whole wheat noodles, which had a great texture and smoothness. I really like these noodles. I planned to finish with a satisfying slurp of the soup and rice, but I failed to create a neat pie crust shape when adding the rice... So my mood dropped in the afternoon...

Salt ramen ¥700 2021.6.30 (2 in a row) 10th bowl this month, 61st this year. It's my second day in Hokkaido, so I had to stop by. The ramen at The Shokudo was simple and delicious, meeting my expectations. #SapporoRamen

I suddenly felt like eating Showa-style salt ramen, so I decided to try Fukuryu, which I had been checking out before. As expected, the taste of ramen from the Showa era that is ingrained in my brain satisfied my craving. I wish they also had boiled eggs and spinach on top. They also have other chilled menu options, and I would like to try the chilled wheat noodles.

After the state of emergency was lifted, we decided to go for a drive and ended up at "Ajino Fukuryu" restaurant. The parking lot in front of the store had two spaces available, but they were so narrow! Even a small car barely fit, and a three-number RV was sticking out. We managed to park and I ordered the Char Siu Ramen (900 yen) with salt flavor. My companion chose the Salt Ramen (700 yen). We also ordered two servings of rice (100 yen each). I couldn't take a photo, but they also had Cold Curry Ramen available with rice on the side for 800 yen! The cold curry piqued my interest. After about 10 minutes, the Char Siu Ramen with salt and rice arrived on a tray. While we came for the ramen, the number of side dishes that came with the rice surprised us. First, I tried the soup... it seemed to be a blend of pork bone and chicken broth, slightly salty but authentically delicious. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles from Morizumi, smooth and chewy just like those from a diner. Morizumi doesn't only make thick noodles. The toppings included Char Siu, Menma, green onions, wheat gluten, and fish cake. The Char Siu was made of three slices of pork, with a total of 5 slices. The first slice had a wild taste, but the other four were fine with a good thickness and a lightly seasoned taste. It was perfect to enjoy with rice. On the other hand, the rice with side dishes (only available in-store) caught my attention, so I ordered it. My hunch was right - even though they said it was a small portion, it was a regular serving of rice. It came with natto, cold tofu, pickled vegetables, and pickled radish. All of this for just 100 yen was unbelievable, truly impressive. I finished even the pickled vegetables that I usually don't like. Before the meal, we were given hot towels, and after paying, we were offered a non-woven mask to take if we wanted. I instantly became a fan. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

Here is a translation of the restaurant review: "I came back again. There was a sign implying that those with dirty clothes, possibly due to frequent work in the area, are not welcome. Menu: Katsu Curry Soba Price: 900 yen Noodles: Probably equivalent to one bundle of store-bought fresh noodles. Soup: Doesn't have any distinct features but was quite delicious. The combination with the katsu seemed to be good, although the cost performance may not be the best. The soup had a thick texture, possibly due to cornstarch. I drank it all up until the end. Impressions: Next time, I want to order a small serving of rice and add plenty of ichimi togarashi to the Katsu Curry Soba to finish it off with the rice."

Ramen + hot springs... where to go? Let's go to Eniwa ≡3≡3≡3 Arrived at 11:50, there was one group of three customers already seated at the counter. I ordered the salt ramen. It arrived in about 10 minutes... Oh, beautiful presentation! I slurped up the Mori-zumi noodles♪ and sipped the soup♪... Delicious! The chashu pork was also tasty, I really liked this ramen! The five tough-looking customers who came in after me all ordered set meals. The tonkatsu looks really good! Salt Ramen for 700 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

After leaving the hospital, I needed to find a delicious ramen shop near me quickly. I found one with a parking lot right in front, which was convenient. They had both counter seating and table seating. Surprisingly, besides ramen, they also had a wide variety of set meals and even udon. The menu was so diverse that I would consider using it as a regular set meal restaurant. They had 15 different set meals, and the prices for dishes like fried oysters and bacon and egg were the same, which was odd. The ramen was priced at 700 yen, with soba and udon starting from 550 yen. Very reasonable prices. The soy sauce ramen was delicious! I wonder what kind of broth they use, it was very tasty and slightly spicy. The thick yellow curly noodles were coated in the delicious soup. The fried tofu added a nostalgic touch. The chashu was made from pork belly and came with green onions and bamboo shoots. It was even more delicious than I expected. The meat udon had a rich broth and thick udon noodles, with pork belly meat in it. It was also very tasty. Overall, it was a great retro-style set meal restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a restaurant that I saw on Tabelog. The set meal with ramen was appealing, but the parking lot in front of the restaurant only had space for four cars. The interior was small, with a counter for eight seats and three small tables. The menu had been slightly raised in price compared to what I saw on Tabelog. I ordered the mini tonkatsu set meal, which came with ramen. I didn't have to wait long as it was still early after opening. The meal included a small tonkatsu, a bowl of rice, natto and tofu, pickled vegetables, pickled daikon, and a small bowl of salt ramen. Is it worth the 900 yen? It would have been a better deal before the price increase. The tonkatsu was decent, and the ramen, without char siu at this price point, was simple with no outstanding features, but had a comforting taste. The combination of dishes in the set meal was good, and I was happy to see natto included. It was a nice ramen shop overall.

It's a cafeteria-style restaurant! I sat at the counter and ordered "miso ramen". You have to get your own water. A customer who came in later ordered "vegetable ramen (miso)" for 750 yen, which was 100 yen more. I should have ordered that one... The ramen I got didn't have tofu, green onion, chashu, menma, or bean sprouts in it, so it looked a bit plain! The soup had a nostalgic miso flavor. It didn't have a deep taste (maybe my taste buds are simple...), but it was delicious! It wasn't what I was expecting, but it's a tasty place! Next time, I'll try the vegetable ramen!

Heading towards Chitose in February 2019, if you take a sharp turn at the intersection before Megumino Station onto Kashiwagido Iso-dori, you will see a large red lantern sign on your left for "Ramen Aji no Fukuryu." I had known about this place for a while, but had always just passed by. On a Sunday at 12:20, I visited for the first time. There was one group of customers before me, and I sat at the counter as a solo diner. I ordered the salt ramen and miso ramen. There was a sign saying "Water is self-service." The man next to me was eating a fried horse mackerel set meal, and a family of four was being served two set meals and a small bowl for their child, each with a mini ramen. Within 10 minutes of entering, our ramen was served with a small dish of pickles. The salt ramen had a clear soup with Naruto, bamboo shoots, wheat gluten, thickly sliced roasted pork, and green onions. The noodles were yellow curly noodles from Morizumi Seimen. It was delicious, the epitome of ramen. The miso ramen had the same noodles and toppings, but the soup was gentle with a slight spiciness. There were no sautéed vegetables like onions or bean sprouts, allowing the flavor of the soup to shine. I could feel the care put into making the ramen. It was undeniably delicious, and I will definitely come back.
