This place has a relaxing atmosphere with jazz music playing in the background. It's the perfect spot for recharging your energy in the afternoon. I had a half portion of Belgian waffle this time. It was just the right amount of sweetness I was craving. Of course, the coffee was delicious too.

- Located on the 2nd basement floor of Osaka Ekimae Building No.2 in Kita-ku, Osaka. A cozy little shop with jazz music playing. During the day, it operates as a café. The owners are an elderly couple. The set of cheesecake and iced coffee costs 500 yen. The cheesecake is small in size, perfect for a tea time treat. The coffee has a nice bitterness, refreshing and easy to drink. Smoking is allowed but there were no smokers, so I was able to relax comfortably and enjoy a good time. The underground floors of Buildings No.1 to No.3 are all appealing with their affordable prices. However, most of them allow smoking. It's interesting to wander around and feel like time has stopped in these places.

I had to kill time for over 30 minutes in Kitashinchi and sought refuge in a building. It was so cold! I was looking for a coffee shop instead of a bar, and I found a jazz bar and cafe. Due to COVID-19, the shop closes at 4:30 pm. I ordered the chocolate cake set that was written on the menu outside. The entrance was open, but since it was on the basement floor, it wasn't cold. I played a smartphone game while listening to jazz and chatting with regular customers and the master. The cake was a simple chocolate sponge, and the coffee was probably a charcoal blend with a strong bitterness. It wasn't exceptionally delicious, but the atmosphere was cozy. I would like to try going during bar hours someday. The chocolate cake set was only 600 yen, so cheap! ∑(゚Д゚)

Jazz Cafe in the 2nd building... Is it a coffee shop? Maybe a cafe because they serve beer? It seems to turn into a bar at night, but as a cafe, they close at 4:30pm. They will wait for you until the last minute, but if you linger too long, they will politely ask you to leave. It's my first time visiting this place, but the atmosphere is quite cozy. Relaxing jazz music is playing. The dim lighting adds to the nice ambiance. It seems like the senior owner and a lady take care of everything. There are many solo customers, but the owner seems like the type who doesn't want to engage in small talk, as he barely makes eye contact. Perhaps they value that kind of atmosphere.

It's a jazz-themed café with a sophisticated atmosphere. My friend knows a lot of smoking-friendly cafes in Umeda, so we came here without hesitation. My friend ordered the cheesecake set, which was made by Rikuro Ojisan. I chose the Belgian waffle set, which came in a half size. Even though it's a smoking-friendly café, there was only one person smoking when we visited, so it wasn't too bothersome. They also had grape juice with an adult-like vibe.

I found a stylish cafe playing jazz music ♥ It's located in Osaka Station Building 2F, a jazz cafe. I don't know anything about jazz, but this song brings back nostalgic memories. The atmosphere is great, with lively jazz music playing in the background. I was planning to have coffee, but then I discovered Guinness beer (✪▽✪) Wow, I'm so happy! I ordered a can of Guinness beer. The beautiful white foam fills the glass. Guinness beer in a can is great because it contains a unique round ball called a "floating widget" that creates creamy foam. When I rotated the can, I could hear a rolling sound inside. However, I was surprised when the rather warm Guinness beer was placed on the table without a word. I looked around in surprise. Although there were no other customers, I felt uncomfortable, so I quickly finished the Guinness beer and left! Thank you for the meal~٩(๑´0`๑)۶Ⓟ

This is a cafe located on the basement 2nd floor of Osaka Station Building 2. It didn't feel too intimidating to enter, but I haven't been in the habit of going to cafes recently... I usually just pass by, but today, after lunch with a friend, I decided to stop by. When I entered the shop, there was no particular greeting, and I was unsure where to sit. The owner, or maybe the manager, just silently handed me a wet towel and a glass of water (also in silence) and started washing dishes without taking my order. Feeling a bit lost, I ended up sitting at the counter. When we finally placed our order, they started making it in silence and served it without a word. I wondered if they were angry, but it didn't seem like it; they just seemed like a quiet person. I ordered a blend coffee, which had a strong bitterness and a slight acidity, making it delicious! The interior of the cafe had jazz music playing, creating a pretty cool atmosphere. Apparently, they even have live performances sometimes. On the way out, perhaps they had gotten used to us a bit, as they politely said, "Thank you. It's 400 yen each. Would you like to pay together?" It seems they were just shy after all. Thank you for the delicious coffee. I'll definitely drop by again sometime.

(August 2016 revisit) I have been dropping by here occasionally during the day. On lazy days or when I'm feeling sleepy and need a quick change of pace while on the move, I come here to have a strong coffee and listen to jazz. The quiet atmosphere in the basement of Osaka Station Building helps me relax and forget about the hustle and bustle above ground. It's a great place to unwind during the day, with the lovely couple who run the place. It's also a nice spot at night, but there's a different charm to it during the day. (February 2015 revisit) This was my first daytime visit. After having udon at Hagakure, I had some time to spare, so I decided to take a break here. The set of Rikuro Uncle's cheesecake and coffee was only 500 yen. The cheesecake was light and fluffy with a gentle taste. The coffee was carefully brewed with a pour-over method, aromatic and not too bitter. I relaxed at a table in the back and enjoyed my time. This place is great during the day as well. The fact that they offer Hawaiian Kona coffee for 400 yen is a steal! I'll definitely try that next time! (November 2011 visit) A music bar located in the basement of the Station Building 2. This is my third visit. I've always been curious about this bar, with its chic ambiance that is rare for a station building. Once you step inside, you'll find a woody and chic interior that exudes calmness. A sophisticated elderly couple stands quietly behind the counter. The music playing ranges from jazz to rock, showing great taste. The counter is usually filled with regulars, so starting with a table might be more comfortable. However, when I sat at the counter during a less crowded time, the deep wooden counter gave off a unique sense of calmness. It's a perfect bar for quiet conversations between two people. Sipping on a bourbon soda, listening to music, the conversation flows naturally. Being in the Station Building, there's no need to worry about missing the last train, and it's conveniently connected to Kitashinchi Station. The more I visit, the more I appreciate the charm of this place. It's a bar I want to become a regular at. ☆

Located near Kitashinchi Station, this cafe bar in the basement of Osaka Station Front Building No. 2 operates as a cafe during the day and a bar at night. I stumbled upon it when I wanted another drink after a meal! - Charm Charm: A mix of nuts and barley chocolate. Barley chocolate is nostalgic but surprisingly goes well with alcohol. - Pizza: This pizza has a nice texture. It's like a bread dough pizza I've had somewhere before, fluffy and delicious. The toppings are simple with just onions and cheese, making it a snack-like treat. Having pizza after a meal, along with whiskey, is a perfect combination. The relaxed and quiet atmosphere makes me want to visit this place again.

Located on the underground second floor of Osaka Station Front 2 Building, this establishment serves as a cafe during the day and transforms into a bar at night. Despite its name suggesting a wrestling finishing move, the atmosphere is actually managed by a quiet middle-aged couple. Upon entering, the soothing sounds of jazz music contrast the noisy surroundings. The cake set for 500 yen features Rikuro Ojisan's famous cheesecake, a thoughtful touch of Osaka. The slightly bitter hot coffee pairs well with the cheesecake. If you're looking for a relaxing break on high chairs, this place is recommended. Note that they close at 4:30 PM during the day, only to reopen for the evening, showing their dedication to providing a unique experience.

The retro coffee shop in front of Osaka Station is finally closing. The entrance door is narrow and it's hard to tell what's inside, making it difficult to enter. Today, I decided to go in and found that the interior is modern and new, so maybe I was mistaken about it being a retro coffee shop. Jazz music is playing at a fairly high volume, creating a moody atmosphere with dim lighting and dark wooden decor. I ordered a hot Viennese coffee for 400 yen. The whipped cream was a bit light and melted quickly. The coffee tasted bitter. The owners are an elderly couple, and all the customers were women. They also offer Rikuro Uncle's cake set for 500 yen. If you have room in your stomach, give it a try.

Piledriver. Japanese name "Nouten Kuiuchi". Recently, Minoru Suzuki has been using it as a finishing move. I found a cafe with the same name as this wrestling move in a building near the station, so I decided to go in. I wanted to ask the owner if the name of the cafe was taken from a wrestling move, but he seemed quite unfriendly, so I didn't end up asking. The cafe had jazz music playing and rock star figures displayed, which I liked. I ordered a cake set for 500 yen, with a cake from Rikuro Ojisan. The cake was much better than homemade ones. The coffee was also surprisingly delicious. Although I couldn't find out the origin of the cafe's name, the casual atmosphere made it a comfortable place to hang out.

Osaka Station Front Building No. 2. During lunchtime, there is a huge crowd of people. It's bustling. It's not just a few people. Where did all these people come from? As you walk by, you'll see shops that are closed in the morning and evening, now open. It's unusual. With the doors wide open, the noise from outside freely enters the shop, but the music inside blocks it out. The jazz music creates a nice atmosphere. There is a long counter and table seating. The slightly dim interior completely cancels out the outside air, creating a different vibe. There is only one older man running the shop. To be honest, he's not the friendliest. The recommended coffee from Kona Coffee can be seen throughout the shop, so I thought it must be good, but today I had an iced coffee. Iced coffee. 380 yen. It doesn't have a strong acidity. The slight bitterness, almost like a hint of astringency that emerges in the aftertaste, is quite memorable. It was a different kind of iced coffee. (Lunch) One person: 380 yen (Lunch) Overall rating 2.5 - Food 2.5 - Service 2.5 - Atmosphere 3.0

Lunch at the station building, wandered around and found a cake set for 500 yen! The cake was a cheesecake from Rikuro Ojisan's store at Daimaru Umeda. It was good. In the evening, we went to a jazz bar-like place with tall chairs and table seats. The counter had a couple of regulars. We ordered the cake set, and the old man serving us seemed a bit unfriendly. But it didn't bother us. The coffee was light and refreshing, and the cake was just right after lunch. I prefer something light like this after a meal rather than strong coffee or heavy cake. It's a good place for tea after a station building lunch.

I'm killing time at Jazz Cafe PileDriver. Finally got my hair cut. I'm generally lazy, so I prefer to get my hair cut quickly and then not go to the salon for a while. That's why I only see my hairdresser every 2-3 months. Every time it's been a while, so I end up chatting more than cutting. We laugh and talk over drinks during the day, and I become a lively customer. In a quiet space, I can't help but laugh. So, in the evening, with some time to spare before my appointment, I decided to have a drink and kill time at the Osaka Station Building. I found a bar with a cafe-like atmosphere with white walls. I went in. Jazz Cafe PileDriver, a place to kill time. It's a cafe during the day and a jazz bar at night. It's run by an older couple, with regulars at the counter. I'm a one-time customer, so I'll sit at a table. I noticed corned beef, my favorite, so I ordered a corned beef salad. It was excellent. The mayo was irresistible. I was shocked when I accidentally bought New Corned Meat before. The jazz playing in the dimly lit interior is very calming. They occasionally have jazz live performances. But I only know BIGIN when it comes to jazz.

I discovered a stylish cafe with jazz music playing on the underground second floor of the second building near Kitashinchi. I went during the day, but they also serve as a bar at night. The atmosphere is very nice, with jazz BGM playing softly in the background, creating a nostalgic vibe where you can spend your time. I would like to visit during the bar hours and chat with the staff while enjoying a drink. There are surprisingly many good shops in this building, but this one is definitely one of the best. Bon appétit!
