Have you tried the new specialty in Naniwa? If you go to Dotonbori, you must try the "Motsumaru" instead of takoyaki! This shop along the Dotonbori River, on the main street, offers Motsumaru, which is fluffy dough filled with chewy motsu, and it's only available here! It's not widely known yet, but it's really delicious, which is why comedians flock to this place. The Motsumaru (8 pieces) costs 700 yen, and you can choose from various flavors, but it's delicious as it is. They bake it fresh after you order, so it's hot and fluffy. There are bench seats along the river, so you can enjoy it like a beer garden. The shop also has a variety of other menu items, so it's great for a hearty dinner as well. The staff are very friendly and make it easy for solo diners to feel comfortable. We were taken to "Original Motsumaru Honpo" because we heard there is a recommended okonomiyaki place in the late-night Dotonbori area! Osaka's best! As a beginner in Osaka, I haven't tried takoyaki that much, but I had a different kind of takoyaki, motsuyaki! Instead of octopus, it had motsu inside. I also tried regular takoyaki, but the motsuyaki at "Motsumaru" was delicious! It was quite impressive to enjoy it along the Dotonbori River. They cook it slowly after you order, and the crispy outside and tender inside were really delicious! At the end of May, the weather was nice, so I had takoyaki and a plain shochu highball while sitting outside, looking at the river. It was awesome! I definitely want to visit again!

After the peak of summer and the feeling of autumn approaching, it was the day of the end of the war memorial day. The foodies gathered in Dotonbori. This bustling area is a major tourist spot in Osaka, attracting tourists from all over Asia. Even on this rainy day, the area was crowded with people. The two lovely girls were working hard in a small shop. Despite having air conditioning, a warm breeze came in through the open entrance. The beer was delicious, needless to say. It had been a while since we had a toast with this group. By the way, beer is ¥500 and chu-hai is ¥400 here. The specialty here is "Motsu Maru", which is essentially a motsu version of takoyaki. It's a great deal with 8 pieces for ¥550. The idea and concept are everything. The shop thrives because it is delicious. You can choose from five flavors: salt sauce, mentaiko mayo, soy sauce mayo, salted kombu, and barbecue sauce. We chose the most popular salt sauce, and it was delicious. The batter contains bonito dashi just like takoyaki, making it delicious. The unique texture and flavor of the motsu are refreshing. The edamame, yakisoba, motsu-yaki, motsu-vegetable stir-fry, and salted cabbage on the teppanyaki menu are all delicious. Of course, okonomiyaki is also on the menu. However, we had plans to move on to the second restaurant tonight, so we disbanded here. Oh, we were so soothed by the hard work of the lovely girls. With its unique location, if it can attract more tourists, it should thrive. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Motsumaru-san, and the reason for going was that the person I was with that day had promised a hard-working girl passing by that they would definitely come next time. So, we came to keep that promise. When you go down the stairs, you will find the restaurant. The interior is a small place with a counter and two tables with four seats each. It feels a bit cluttered. On the day of my visit, it was in the middle of summer and very hot. The interior was not cooled by the air conditioning but by the heat of the iron plate. The two female staff members were working hard and sweating. The menu mainly consists of classic teppanyaki dishes. The most popular one is Motsumaru, which is similar to takoyaki but with motsu (offal) instead of octopus. It was crispy on the outside and tender inside, really delicious. We also ordered sauce yakisoba, motsu and vegetable stir-fry, and zuri, all of which had average flavors. Their hard work made me want to support them even more! You could also consider getting takeout and eating while enjoying the view of Dotonbori! Motsumaru-san, keep up the good work in Dotonbori!

I bought half-price tickets on a certain website and went to the restaurant with my friends. We didn't do any research on the restaurant beforehand, but we were able to enjoy 5,000 yen worth of food and drinks at a motsunabe (offal hot pot) restaurant. The restaurant didn't really look like a typical motsunabe place at first glance, at least in my opinion. Lately, I've noticed that many places have a setup where the entrance is covered with vinyl, giving it a more casual, outdoor dining feel. Inside the restaurant, there were a lot of Osaka-style dishes on the menu, like okonomiyaki and omusoba. Of course, we had to order motsunabe. It was a simple yet delicious dish. We were so engrossed in conversation that we forgot to take pictures along the way. We weren't in the mood for okonomiyaki, so we ordered some teppanyaki dishes like grilled horumon udon and pork belly. My friend was drinking alcohol, so we ordered a little less food. However, with the 5,000 yen worth of tickets, we were able to eat to our heart's content.

We came to this restaurant for the second round. Located along the river in the bustling district of Namba, sitting at a table by the river, the cool breeze by the river was very pleasant and the beer was excellent. I was already full from the first round, so I didn't eat much, but the "motsu maru" octopus takoyaki recommended by my friend was very delicious. I would love to come back and have another round of motsu maru and draft beer.

This is a shop that I saw from the Tonbori River Walk and was curious about. The motsu-yaki, which uses motsu instead of octopus in takoyaki, is incredibly delicious. It goes perfectly with the shop's original secret salt sauce, and I couldn't help but order another one. The shop is run by two women, who are very friendly, and it has a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like I could even go alone next time. It was a bit chilly, so we moved inside, but once it warms up, it's a great place to have a drink while looking out at Dotonbori.

From the dragonfly side, it looks like a food stall. From Dotonbori, the sign is easy to see, down the stairs. This time, my friend ordered various dishes, so I don't remember the menu very well. I'm sorry. The restaurant is quite crowded. All the dishes we ate were delicious. We missed out on trying the famous motsumaru and okonomiyaki, but I definitely want to try them next time. The motsunabe had a very light broth, making it easy to eat. The ramen as the last dish was amazing. The ichimi served as a condiment was quite spicy, but the flavor of the red pepper was really good.
