Well, this trip to Sapporo was decided suddenly, and I had plans for the day before and the day after, so I will return after just one night. I chose an early return flight to avoid high additional fees, so I decided to have lunch at the airport. Therefore, even though I like curry, I don't usually eat soup curry, but since I came all the way to Sapporo... I decided to try the popular restaurant Soup Curry lavi at New Chitose Airport. It is said that even former Prime Minister Abe visited this place. It is located on the third floor in the street food area called Shiden Street Dining. It's right across from Hokkaido Ramen Dojo haha. I accidentally arrived at the back entrance, so I quickly crossed through the restaurant to the opposite entrance... and then, it turned out that they require you to fill out a form, but even though it was just past 11 o'clock, the wait was really long!? Well, I had plenty of time so it was fine, but it took 30 minutes to get in. For my first time there, I ordered the classic Chicken and Vegetable Curry in the Original Soup. You can choose from three types of soups: the original soup with a tomato base that has a sour taste, the popular rich and flavorful roasted shrimp soup, and the Thai curry-style mild coconut soup. But since it was my first time, I went with the original soup. You can also choose the level of spiciness, ranging from 1 to 50, with Mild Spicy from 0 to 5 (3 being medium, 5 being spicy), Medium Spicy from 6 to 10, Spicy from 11 to 30, and Extra Spicy from 31 to 50. Based on reviews, the single digits are not that spicy, so I played it safe and asked for level 10 in Medium Spicy. For those seeking spicier options above level 50, please inform the staff. In addition, you can choose the amount of rice: small (150g), regular (200g), or large (300g). Since it wasn't long since breakfast, I went with the regular size. I also ordered a mango lassi from the set drink menu. There were other flavors like strawberry, banana, blueberry, and pineapple, but the popular ones are plain or mango, so I went with mango lassi. Oh, it smells spicy and delicious. First, I tried the soup alone... hmm, it's quite spicy. It might be just right for me. The bone-in chicken leg is so tender it falls apart, and it's delicious. The pumpkin and carrots are sweet, and the Red Moon variety of potatoes is tasty. The roasted cabbage and broccoli are also good. Thanks for the meal.
