The introduction of "Junichi-san" at Mairebi is at the restaurant called "Takoyaki & Dagashi Purupuru". They also offer set meals, and the main attraction is the daily special set meal (tax included 690 yen). Today's special is "pork and chicken karaage". The daily special set meal comes with a choice of small side dishes (no leftovers allowed). I chose 3, and my wife chose 2 to share: bamboo shoot stew, sweet and sour pork, fish cake stew, pickled daikon radish, and bacon and cucumber salad. Everything was made well. The karaage was crispy and the miso soup had plenty of tofu. Rice is free to refill, and they have a variety of furikake (rice seasoning). We were full and satisfied. It was delicious. In Morokuchi City, there is a candy shop on Terakata Nishikido Street where children come to buy candies and takoyaki with their pocket money. Surprisingly, the main attraction is the super cost-effective set meal restaurant. They have counter seats, tables, and tatami seating. I have been there a few times, so I will introduce the daily set meal with the remaining images. They offer a variety of set meals, but the daily set meal is something to look forward to. For only 650 yen, you get a huge portion with a main dish, side dishes, salad, pickles, and soup. Plus, you can have unlimited refills of rice and side dishes! And it tastes delicious!

Today, I decided to skip the morning work and head to the office after having lunch. Around 1:00 PM, I took a different route from home to the office and made a detour to this shop. The shop looked like a takoyaki shop, a set meal restaurant, or maybe a candy store? It reminded me of the old days when I used to buy snacks at the neighborhood store. Inside the shop, there was a mother and daughter duo running the place. They seemed to be close in age, but it was hard to tell with their masks on. The shop had a cheerful and lively atmosphere, with many regular customers. I ordered the daily special for 650 yen, which was an eel bowl and egg over rice with udon. When the dishes arrived, I was surprised by the generous portion size. The eel bowl was full-sized with three pieces of eel, and the udon was also a full-sized portion. Additionally, there were three side dishes included. The food was delicious, satisfying, and had a great volume. It was a pleasant surprise as I hadn't eaten anything since morning. The eel was flavorful and tender, and the udon was comforting on a cold day. The side dishes were also tasty and perfect for snacking. After finishing my work, I resisted the temptation of beer mentioned on the menu and headed home. Later, I checked the shop's Instagram and found out that the daily specials were always festive and hearty. It seems like every day is a special day at this place. Plus, they offer free rice refills.

It seems like the shop that originally was in the neighborhood has moved. It looks like a takoyaki and dagashi (cheap sweets) shop. When I went for lunch, it was full and most people were having lunch. Since it was full, I waited a bit and tried the daily lunch set for 550 yen. It was quite a generous portion! The staff recommended having extra rice, but it was too much for me so I declined. It was really delicious, so I plan to visit often. Yum! (*^。^*)
