Chubetsu business trip, 3 nights 4 days. Dinner on the 3rd day. Time is 18:30. I took a bath before the meal, and for the first time in a while, I could eat at a normal time. The freshly squeezed Hokkaido sake from the draft beer was delicious. However, the dining room didn't have air conditioning, so it was super hot. Each person had a pot, which made the temperature even higher. Breakfast on the 3rd day. The plate was slightly different from the 1st and 2nd days, with grilled salted mackerel as the main dish. I was exhausted last night and fell asleep right after eating, but I woke up at 3 am. I spent the night waking up and sleeping, wasting time. I soaked in the morning hot spring, and the hot meal in the dining room is the last one for today. Now, let's work a little harder to return to Sapporo.

Middle Bid Teshi business trip for 3 nights and 4 days. Dinner on the 2nd day. The beer after returning, exhausted, tastes amazing. And enjoying freshly squeezed Northern Katsu from Usui Kachiro Shoten. Breakfast on the 2nd day. The plate is slightly different from the 1st day. The hot and smooth flowing hot spring here is excellent. There are many local day-trip bathers...

I went on a 3-night, 4-day business trip to Nakashibetsu. I stayed at Nakashibetsu Recreation Center Hot Spring Inn, which exudes a Showa-era hot spring ryokan atmosphere. The parking lot is spacious and very relaxing. In a time when hotels are in short supply, it was a great find to secure a reservation. I checked into the hotel at 8:00 PM and first enjoyed a beer to unwind. For dinner on the first day, the meal was not extravagant but delicious. It had been a while since I had this type of home-cooked meal at an inn. The seasoning in the hot pot included wakame seaweed, which added a nice touch. For breakfast on the second day, the set plate included a delicious tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette). The hot spring here is a flowing natural spring, with a smooth and velvety texture that leaves the skin feeling silky smooth after a soak. What I liked the most was that the water temperature was generally high, and there were even super hot baths available, which was fantastic.

I stayed at this place when I participated in a tour of cycling around Hokkaido for 1100 kilometers. They allowed me to store my bicycle in a warehouse-like area. The building is quite old, but the room is neat. The hot spring is very pleasant. It's interesting that you have to walk a little to get to the outdoor bath from the hot spring. The meals are not extravagantly luxurious, but simple and delicious. The breakfast is buffet style and the variety is good, so I ended up piling up a lot. It's a small inn with a nice hot spring where I could relax.

Located a 5-minute drive from the town center of Nakashibetsu, this hot spring inn is nestled in a residential area. Recommended by a friend, I used this hot spring as a base for exploring Eastern Hokkaido. There are two indoor baths, one outdoor bath, and you can also enjoy a rock bath for an additional fee. The facilities are not new, but the quality of the hot spring water and spacious baths allowed me to relax. The food, compared to high-end ryokans, had fewer dishes and many cold options. The taste of the dishes was not exceptional. In terms of a review like on Tabelog, it wouldn't receive a high rating. However, I strongly felt that they wanted guests to enjoy the homely cooking. Considering the good baths, friendly service, and clean rooms for around 7000 yen per night, it was more than enough! On the way back, my family was delighted and said, "We want to use it again!" Another favorite place (inn) has been added to our list!

In the convenient base of Tokachi, there are plenty of hot springs in Naka-Shibetsu. There are about 5-6 hot springs in the town, but this one is my favorite due to its abundant hot water, quality, and rustic atmosphere. It is located in a quiet area a little off the beaten path, and in winter, you may even see red-crowned cranes and swans visiting. The building was established in 1984 and has a traditional atmosphere suitable for hot spring therapy. I have stayed here before, but this time I just used the day-use hot spring and the dining area. The menu includes soba, ramen, curry, set meals, and a new dish featuring local Naka-Shibetsu Milky Pork called "Buta-Ten" Donburi. While waiting, I enjoyed a glass of local Inui milk, which is low-temperature sterilized at 65°C for 30 minutes. It was convenient to enjoy the flavorful and creamy milk. The "Buta-Ten" dish arrived shortly after. The portion size was normal, but the presentation was interesting and appealing. The bowl contained rice, cabbage with a mayo-like dressing, and Buta-Ten on top. The pork tempura was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a lot of collagen. The sauce was light and slightly sweet and sour, similar to tempura sauce. The rice and miso soup were standard, and the pickles had a simple and tasty flavor. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Thank you for the hospitality. I will definitely visit again. The hot spring has separate baths for men and women, indoor and outdoor baths. The spring quality is sodium-chloride, pH 8.6, 49.8°C, and is pumped with natural power. The large indoor bath is diluted with water, while the others are natural spring water. The bath is spacious, with ample hot water, making it popular among locals. The bathing experience is excellent, leaving the skin smooth and warm. The bathing fee is for a full day, so some regulars come in the morning and return in the evening. Naka-Shibetsu Buta-Ten 900 yen, Naka-Shibetsu Inui Milk 250ml 70 yen. The dining hours are 11:00-20:30, day-use hot spring 7:00-21:30 (sauna 7:00-20:30), overnight stay bath 6:00-23:00. Adult 500 yen, elementary school student 200 yen, infant 100 yen. Overnight stay with 2 meals 8500 yen~ (business stay 7000 yen~).

I visited the Nakashibetsu Onsen Ryokan for a business course (including breakfast and dinner). For dinner, in addition to the dishes shown in the photo, you also get 3 pieces of fried oysters and 1 piece of fried pumpkin. The rice is served in a wooden box. The meals were quite soft in texture. Although I read online that breakfast was buffet-style, when I visited, it was a set meal. Breakfast had a considerable amount of food compared to dinner, and it was a challenge to finish it all due to the large portion.

I came to Nakashibetsu and had udon noodles. I drank coffee at a very friendly cafe. I heard they have hot springs here. Tonight, we have a party and stay at a hot spring hotel. I brought my bath supplies. When I asked at the cafe if there are hot springs around, they said all the accommodation facilities in Nakashibetsu have hot springs, and the most famous one is the recreation center hot spring. It's nearby, so we decided to go there. It turns out it's also an accommodation facility. It was only grandpa in the hot spring at 1 PM on Saturday. Surprisingly, grandma wasn't there. By the way, it costs 500 yen for the men's bath. It's a sodium chloride hot spring, but I didn't write down any details about the water. Since there's also a night session, we quickly got out. In the rest area, the dining room should be closed, but there was a woman slurping ramen. She looks like the bear from Chitose but with straight hair, so it's different. She was eating ramen for a long time, but was she eating one ramen at a time? I drink Nakashibetsu milk, which is local milk. Would you like some? Who are you asking? It's hard to open, the lid where you insert the straw won't come off. You have to open it from the side. It's delicious, but isn't it sweet? It's sweet, but they say it's like whipped cream. It's a dairy town after all.
