In the convenient base of Tokachi, there are plenty of hot springs in Naka-Shibetsu. There are about 5-6 hot springs in the town, but this one is my favorite due to its abundant hot water, quality, and rustic atmosphere. It is located in a quiet area a little off the beaten path, and in winter, you may even see red-crowned cranes and swans visiting. The building was established in 1984 and has a traditional atmosphere suitable for hot spring therapy. I have stayed here before, but this time I just used the day-use hot spring and the dining area. The menu includes soba, ramen, curry, set meals, and a new dish featuring local Naka-Shibetsu Milky Pork called "Buta-Ten" Donburi. While waiting, I enjoyed a glass of local Inui milk, which is low-temperature sterilized at 65°C for 30 minutes. It was convenient to enjoy the flavorful and creamy milk. The "Buta-Ten" dish arrived shortly after. The portion size was normal, but the presentation was interesting and appealing. The bowl contained rice, cabbage with a mayo-like dressing, and Buta-Ten on top. The pork tempura was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a lot of collagen. The sauce was light and slightly sweet and sour, similar to tempura sauce. The rice and miso soup were standard, and the pickles had a simple and tasty flavor. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Thank you for the hospitality. I will definitely visit again. The hot spring has separate baths for men and women, indoor and outdoor baths. The spring quality is sodium-chloride, pH 8.6, 49.8°C, and is pumped with natural power. The large indoor bath is diluted with water, while the others are natural spring water. The bath is spacious, with ample hot water, making it popular among locals. The bathing experience is excellent, leaving the skin smooth and warm. The bathing fee is for a full day, so some regulars come in the morning and return in the evening. Naka-Shibetsu Buta-Ten 900 yen, Naka-Shibetsu Inui Milk 250ml 70 yen. The dining hours are 11:00-20:30, day-use hot spring 7:00-21:30 (sauna 7:00-20:30), overnight stay bath 6:00-23:00. Adult 500 yen, elementary school student 200 yen, infant 100 yen. Overnight stay with 2 meals 8500 yen~ (business stay 7000 yen~).
