The restaurant is located in Kurokawa Onsen and offers sweets using local ingredients from Aso. At Daimaru, it seems like a relatively new store. The chocolate mont blanc has a rich and intense flavor. The roll-shaped chocolate sponge is bitter, and the cream inside is not too sweet. Despite being a chocolate cake, it has a very adult taste. Chocolate is really wonderful. The lemon-flavored rare cheesecake has a soft and gentle taste. The thin biscuit base adds a nice texture. The lemon acidity is unexpectedly strong, making the cake refreshing and light. It's a great dessert to refresh your palate after a heavy meal. Sweet treats are really great, right? There is a shop located in the basement of Tenjin Daimaru. The shop has a calming atmosphere with brown tones. The main store seems to be located in Kurokawa Onsen. Among the lineup of puddings and roll cakes, I purchased the dome-shaped Zucotto cheesecake (1260 yen) this time. It is a souffle-type cheesecake. Although there were some pre-cut slices available, I opted for the whole cake as it was a great deal. When I cut into it at home, I found that the center was frozen... which was a bit disappointing. However, I still enjoyed the cheesecake as it had a smooth texture with a mild cheese flavor. I prefer a bit more acidity, but it was still delicious. I let the remaining half thaw overnight, and it was definitely tastier when fully thawed. Buying a whole cake is a good value, especially if you want to indulge. They also had Camembert cheesecake and Zaruchizu cheesecake, so I would like to try those next time.
