I made a reservation at a charmingly named Chinese herbal medicine and Wagyu beef restaurant in Ikebukuro for a night out. It was my first visit. When I entered the restaurant, I found it to be smaller than I had imagined, giving off a casual drinking spot vibe. I was led to the second floor where there were only about three table seats, making it feel cramped with close proximity to other diners. I love both Wagyu beef and oysters, so I was looking forward to it. While I usually prefer raw oysters, the steamed oysters here were surprisingly delicious, with the sweetness gradually increasing. The grilled oysters in the main course were the most delicious, with the other dishes being just average. The drinks were at a standard izakaya level. The highlight was the beef, seared right in front of me on a burner, which was incredibly tasty. I couldn't quite grasp the appeal of the Chinese herbal beef, but the dressings and flavors were good. It seems that if you don't choose a type of porridge for the course when making a reservation, it defaults to oyster porridge. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't try the motsunabe. This place may not be ideal for a date, but it's perfect for a girls' night out or for a quick meal for salarymen. I would like to try other branches with better ratings in the future. I revisited the restaurant around 8pm on a weekday. Since some time had passed since my last visit, the place was quite crowded with customers. I took a seat at the counter and ordered smoked herring and oysters from Moji, Fukuoka. As a precaution, they provided me with hypochlorous acid for hand disinfection. This was my second visit and I learned that this restaurant is a new establishment featured on the TV show "Buraari Tochuu Gesha no Tabi". The drinks were served in glasses that kept them cold without getting warm. The service was excellent and the oysters were delicious.

The taste is decent. I have been there a few times and it is delicious, but it feels a bit wasteful. The plates seem like they are not meant for people to use... but it seems like that is part of their selling point. They should consider changing their concept. It's a shame because the mussels are delicious.

The food is delicious. They also have a decent selection of Japanese sake.

I am satisfied with the price and would like to visit again in the winter.

I met up with friends in Ikebukuro East Exit for drinks. I love oysters, so I was looking for a place that serves them as the main dish and found a restaurant with a sign saying "oysters" a little off Sunshine Street. We decided to go in. The restaurant was small, but they served delicious oysters and ice-cold beer. The staff, especially a friendly and cheerful girl, made the experience even better. There are no private rooms, just a counter on the first floor and tables on the second floor. It's best for small groups, maybe around 10 people maximum. If you're looking for oysters in Ikebukuro with a small group, this place is worth a visit!

Visited with 4 friends on a Friday night. The reservation was made by the organizer about a month in advance, and we were grateful for that. We initially went to a restaurant on Sakae-machi Street, but were told our table was actually at the new location on Mikuni-koji. We walked there and were shown to our seats by a waiter. We started with a toast with beer, and then a different waiter explained the dishes to us. The beer glasses were not glass, but more like insulated mugs that kept the beer cold without feeling heavy. We ordered a la carte, and the meal progressed with appetizers, raw oysters, meat dishes, grilled dishes, salad, and a risotto-like dish. The raw oysters were fresh and we enjoyed tasting oysters from different regions. The grilled dish was cooked in a tin can with oysters, clams, and mussels in a wine-based soup. It was fun to watch the waiter prepare the dish at our table. They also used the leftover broth to make a delicious risotto (extra charge), which we highly recommend. In addition to oysters, the Chinese-style beef and pork dishes were also delicious. The low-temperature cooked liver and seared Chinese beef were particularly flavorful. The restaurant is a bit small, but definitely worth a visit. Thank you for the great meal!

After a long time, I went to the east exit of Ikebukuro. The area seems to have finished development a long time ago, but redevelopment has been ongoing. In the area sandwiched between the Shuto Expressway and Green Road, places like "Jinseicho" and "Hikarimachi" have disappeared, and the aging buildings of Toshima Public Hall, Toshima Ward Citizen Center, and of course Toshima Ward Office will soon be replaced by modern, impersonal commercial buildings. Well, that's the way urban development goes. Still, it's a relief to see alleys like "Mikuni Koji" and "Sakaecho Street" surviving in this neighborhood. After enjoying three recommended types of oysters (from Sendai, Hiroshima, and Hokkaido) with two beers, and meat and vegetable rolls with two highballs, I'll head to my usual spot once the alcohol has kicked in.

I was taken to this restaurant by a friend. I know the area near Sunshine City in Ikebukuro well, but I didn't know there was a place on Mikuni Koji where you can eat meat and shellfish. We arrived around 6:30 pm and there were no other customers yet, so we were seated on the second floor. We ordered the recommended fresh oysters and the Gangan Yaki (2000 yen), along with the Akazara shellfish (290 yen) that came as a complimentary appetizer. The Gangan Yaki included oysters, mussels, clams, and the additional Akazara shellfish, all of which were from Japan and steamed to bring out their rich flavors. The remaining broth was used to make a delicious risotto for us. We also ordered the special grilled oysters (380 yen each), the seared Shinshin meat (900 yen), and the Chinese herbal beef steak (1600 yen). The additional meat dishes were also incredibly tasty and juicy! The risotto was delicious as well. This hidden gem of a restaurant is highly recommended.

I was looking for a place where I could enjoy both seafood and alcohol, and I happened to come across this amazing restaurant. According to the staff, it opened in November and I can see it becoming a hidden gem. I recommend going early to secure a spot. They have a beer that pairs perfectly with oysters, and it was surprisingly delicious. I tried the Akazara clam, which was a rare find and I was very satisfied. The grilled oysters were served with risotto, which was a nice touch. What's more, they also serve meat dishes, which was a pleasant surprise. I hope this place becomes my go-to spot.

I made a reservation using points but the discount was not applied. The price was not cheap, and the taste was mediocre. I will not go again.
