This is an okonomiyaki restaurant near Shin-Osaka Station. You can enjoy interesting and unique okonomiyaki dishes here. The gurgling hot beef tendon and konjac is excellent! In addition to the standard okonomiyaki, the steak and teppanyaki dishes are also delicious. The hospitality is top-notch. I love this place! I visited on a Monday around 8:30 pm and it wasn't too crowded. I was seated in a private booth at the back. I started with a draft beer, potato salad, and the beef tendon and konjac dish. Everything was great! I discovered an interesting menu item - "Puchi-yaki" which allows you to choose various toppings for a small okonomiyaki. I couldn't decide, so I went with a mix of pork, cheese, squid, octopus, shrimp, and spicy cod roe. It was a dream come true! I started with half plain and half spicy with shichimi pepper. It was so satisfying. Thanks for a delicious meal!

I had planned to return to Tokyo by Shinkansen, but due to heavy rain in Shizuoka, I was stuck in Shin-Osaka. I ended up staying overnight in Osaka and went to a restaurant recommended by a friend who lives there. It seems like many celebrities also visit this place. The staff were friendly, and the okonomiyaki was very delicious, fluffy and rich. The sauce was on the sweeter side. It made me realize once again how much I love Osaka-style okonomiyaki. (My child had the negiyaki, but I forgot to take a picture.)

I visited for a pre-meeting inspection. It's Bonkura-ya. It was around 17:00 on the Bon holiday, and we were the first ones there. My wife and I decided to start with some appetizers. We had grilled chicken neck, grilled squid with salt, tomato tartare, and cucumber. I had already had a few drinks at the movies and at a standing bar in Namba, so I was pleasantly tipsy. I had about three highballs and was feeling pretty drunk towards the end... I don't remember much after that. We also had grilled chicken thigh with green onions and finished with a large serving of yakisoba. According to my wife, everything was delicious. I apologize for getting too drunk. Thank you for the meal - looking forward to the next gathering.

I had an early morning appointment the next day in Osaka and stayed near Shin-Osaka Station. After a busy day of work, I hopped on the bullet train and felt like having some comfort food. Along with a lemon sour, I enjoyed the specialty dish at Bonkura-ya, the Tonpei Milfee. This dish consists of thinly sliced pork rolled in egg and cooked flat, with plenty of cheese that melts beautifully when you cut into it. It has a fluffy and creamy texture thanks to the generous amount of yam. This local favorite okonomiyaki restaurant offers a variety of unique teppanyaki dishes as well, so I wish I had arrived a bit earlier to try more of their delicious offerings.

The specialty dish at this restaurant requires a bit of courage to order - a freshly baked okonomiyaki topped generously with cheese and finished with mentaiko. You can choose the size you prefer! The staff and menu are both fun and entertaining, true to Osaka style. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp. They cook the food right in front of you on a hot plate, so it stays hot for a long time. I will definitely visit again. Thank you very much!

On the final day of my trip to Kyoto, I headed to Osaka. After visiting Abeno Harukas, Dotonbori, Meiji-Tei, and Umeda, I made a reservation for okonomiyaki dinner at a place in Nishinakajima Minamigata before reaching Shin-Osaka. I got off at Nishinakajima Minamigata station and was seated at a table with a hot plate. They kindly took care of my luggage. To start off, I raised a toast to the successful trip with a half-priced draft beer for 247 yen, along with Calpis and orange juice for 165 yen each. For food, I ordered a tofu salad with sesame dressing for 638 yen, pork yakisoba for 858 yen, bonkurasteak for 1628 yen, and a pork okonomiyaki for 718 yen (with extra for 220 yen). The dishes were delicious and satisfying, especially the okonomiyaki which I particularly enjoyed. With my heart and stomach full, it was time to head to Shin-Osaka and catch the Shinkansen. Thank you for the meal!

This is a restaurant located about a 2-minute walk from Osaka Metro Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station. I visited for lunch on a weekday. I ordered the Yakisoba set meal for 680 yen (tax included) from the lunch menu. It arrived in about 7 minutes (the salad, pickles, miso soup, and rice arrived in about 3 minutes). The main dish, the Yakisoba, is brought to the table on a hot plate after being cooked. They offer free extra rice (this time I had a regular portion). The Yakisoba had a simple sauce with cabbage and pork, and I liked the thick noodles. The seasoning was not too strong, so the combination with rice may not be the best. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I had lunch at a place near Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station and Minamigata Station. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats, and their lunch menu consists of 5 dishes mainly focusing on teppanyaki, including okonomiyaki. I ordered the tonpei set. The tonpei yaki had a rich flavor, with ingredients such as pork, green onions, and tenkasu. It goes well with rice, but it's best enjoyed with beer or highball. Since it was lunchtime, I had to settle for a glass of water instead. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The table seats had some drawbacks like hard backrests and limited legroom, but for 580 yen with salad and kimchi included, it was quite cost-effective.

I went to a restaurant in Nishinakajima that stays open until late at night, as there aren't many okonomiyaki and teppanyaki places open late in the area. The restaurant was spacious and not crowded. When I looked at the menu, I was drawn to the recommended dishes - "Beautiful Breasts Okonomiyaki" and "Big Breasts Okonomiyaki." I couldn't resist ordering both to see what they were like. When the dishes arrived, they did indeed resemble breasts, but it was hard to tell which was which. I wish the "Big Breasts Okonomiyaki" had a fuller appearance. The taste was good though, so it was a bit of a shame.

The other day, I had a training session in Shin-Osaka and stayed overnight with three colleagues. I was suddenly entrusted with choosing a restaurant, without any prior research, so it was a complete leap of faith. Despite the almost impossible task, I wanted to find a delicious, Osaka-style restaurant that was budget-friendly since most of my colleagues were married. Without checking Tabelog, I decided to choose a restaurant in the Nishinakajima Minamigata area, about a 5-6 minute walk from the hotel. I wanted to eat horumon or okonomiyaki, so I searched for teppanyaki on Google Maps. I chose a restaurant that was not facing the main street, but located in a back alley (probably due to lower rent leading to lower prices and better taste?). It was a gamble, but the outcome was a great success! The restaurant may not have high Tabelog ratings, but it offers authentic Osaka cuisine that is both affordable and delicious. It also has counter seats, so solo travelers on business trips were also present. I hope a similar teppanyaki restaurant serving flour-based dishes will open in Takamatsu as well. Despite feeling nervous about choosing a restaurant, it turned out to be an enjoyable experience.

Business trip to Kansai. Due to an early start the next morning, I decided to stay overnight in Osaka. I arrived at Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station, the nearest station to the hotel, after 9 pm. Before checking in, I decided to have a light drink. The east side of Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station is a vibrant area lined with restaurants. A colleague from the company I was with didn't have many opportunities to visit Kansai, so they wanted to try local drinks. We wandered around and decided to enter this restaurant. The restaurant was quite spacious, with mainly table seating and a hot plate on each table. It was past 9 pm on a weekday, and there were hardly any other customers. We were seated at an empty table. We started with a toast with beer and ordered some side dishes. We had tonpei milfeuille, edamame, and beef tendon konjac, among others. The beef tendon konjac is a typical Osaka dish. The tender beef tendons had a nice flavor. The tonpei milfeuille had a beautiful mayo beam on top. The soft scrambled eggs were delicious. We finished with okonomiyaki, specifically the bonkurayaki. It had a fluffy base with plenty of pork, squid, shrimp, and scallops as toppings. It was quite filling. The waiter, a young man, was very polite and attentive. He kept an eye on our drinks and provided good service. This restaurant offers a variety of dishes that locals would enjoy. It seems like a fun place to visit with a group of people and enjoy different drinks and dishes.

I visited during Happy Hour from 5pm to 7pm, where drinks like draft beer and chu-hai were half price. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and delicious.

Smoking allowed. It's a typical okonomiyaki restaurant, but I didn't eat much so I can't say for sure. Please focus on pest control (><) It's unavoidable for pests to come out of a food establishment...
