There is a store on the second floor of New Chitose Airport domestic terminal, at the first end of the JAL side. They sell soft serve ice cream made from wakasaimo, a famous Hokkaido confectionery. It has a slightly yellow color and tastes like sweet potato, with a smooth and delicious texture. If you like sweet potatoes and Japanese sweets, you will love it.

Hokkaido trip is coming to an end... I had a very satisfying trip with lots of delicious food, but even just before leaving, I kept struggling with whether to eat soft serve ice cream or not. I couldn't forget the soft serve ice cream I had the day before at Kinotoya... the aftertaste is quite strong... Should I eat the same thing again, or should I try something different at another shop... After much hesitation, I decided to go for something Hokkaido-like! So, I tried the "An Potato Soft Serve" from Wakasaimo, famous for their "Wakasaimo" and "An Potato" desserts! [Ordered Items] An Potato Soft Serve ¥430 (tax included) The shop is located on the 2nd floor of the domestic terminal, close to the departure gate, so you can enjoy it before your departure time if you finish your procedures quickly! Also, there is no line, so you can buy it right away without any worries. The soft serve started melting even while I was taking about two photos after getting it... It's quite soft. Since it was starting to drip, I quickly ate it from the sides! The sweet potato flavor is strong and delicious! Just as everyone imagines! As I ate closer to the cone, the sweet red bean paste appeared ♡♡♡ It has a moist texture and a mild taste, so it doesn't overpower the sweet potato flavor. But for those who seek a stronger red bean taste, it might be a bit lacking. I love red bean paste, so I would have been happier if it had a stronger presence! The cone is a waffle cone, so I'm very satisfied... It's crispy and goes really well with the sweet potato flavor... It was the last day of my Hokkaido trip, and I hesitated a lot before buying this soft serve, but I'm glad I ate it... I truly felt that way. If you're unsure whether to eat or not, you should definitely choose to eat it!! You can experience the unique flavors of Hokkaido, so if you come to Hokkaido, be sure to try it!! Thank you for the amazing finale!!

The sweet and delicious sweet potato soft serve had a subtly sweet red bean paste inside, making it very tasty! The waffle cone added to the satisfaction of the treat. For 450 yen, this quality is definitely worth trying!

My son bought me some Kuukou Manju from New Chitose Airport. These cute bear-shaped buns are filled with smooth red bean paste, and they are so delicious! They are popular and often sold out quickly, but my son managed to get them in the morning. They are similar to hot spring buns but with a special cuteness. The fluffy steamed bun outer layer is so tasty! They are a delightful treat, but be aware that they have a short shelf life of 3 days from the purchase date, so be careful if you plan to give them as souvenirs. The bear-shaped plastic bag that they give for free is also adorable. Thank you for the meal!

At Chitose Airport, I bought a local souvenir: 4 pieces of "wakasaimo" for 583 yen. Wakasaimo is a soul food for Hokkaido locals. The white bean paste inside is a bit gritty and absorbs the moisture in your mouth. It's not really my thing, but thanks for the treat! 😅

This shop is located inside New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. I always eat this soft serve ice cream for dessert. I never feel like losing weight at all... It specializes in sweet potatoes, so it's a shop that focuses on sweet potatoes. When it comes to Hokkaido soft serve ice cream, it usually uses fresh milk, but this one is completely different. It's a sweet treat made with sweet potatoes and red beans. It's really delicious. I highly recommend it.

You can use PayPay here. This place is good. I've been to Wakasaimo's main store before, but that time I went for the rain craft beer. This time I tried their soft serve ice cream, which was delicious. I wanted to buy some souvenirs too. I'll challenge myself to visit again somewhere! Thank you for the meal.

Soft serve ice cream at Chitose Airport is sold at multiple locations. I had been curious about it for two years now. The sweet potato soft serve for 400 yen was delicious, with a distinct sweet potato flavor. It also had red bean paste inside, which added a fun element. Personally, I could do without the red bean paste, but I appreciated that they provided a wet wipe. The soft serve was cold and didn't melt quickly. Two years ago, the most popular cheese soft serve was lukewarm and didn't hold its shape well. I'm also interested in trying the soft serve with Haskap berries from another shop. I remember enjoying it in the past for its tangy flavor.

I tried the famous Yumewakasai as a Hokkaido souvenir for the first time, but hmm, I didn't like the seaweed inside. However, it seems to be popular among many people. Overall, it may be good as a gift since the packaging is included in the price.

This shop is located at New Chitose Airport. Whenever I go to New Chitose Airport, I always make sure to stop by here. I believe that the combination of starch + milk is the best dessert. Sweet potato, red beans, and high-quality milk are the ultimate combination. However, the location of the shop is not very noticeable as it is at the end of the airport. It offers soft serve ice cream that defies the concept of soft serve ice cream. Why not try it once?

I had soft serve ice cream earlier and suddenly felt like having it again, so I started looking for a new place to try. I realized that I had already tried most of the places in the past, so I had to rely on my memory to find a place I hadn't visited yet. That's when I remembered this particular shop. I had wanted to visit it during my last trip, but it closed early and I missed out. This time, I made sure to stop by. I ordered their specialty, sweet potato soft serve ice cream in a cup for 400 yen. However, there was no seating available, so I had to quickly find a spot before it melted. Luckily, I found one just in time. I dug in and was pleasantly surprised by the strong sweet potato flavor! It tasted like eating sweet potato ice cream or a Japanese sweet potato parfait. Personally, I'm not a big fan of sweet potatoes, but this was delicious. There was also red bean paste at the bottom of the cup, giving it a more traditional Japanese dessert feel. I felt like this might be more popular among women who like sweet potatoes, but as a man, I still enjoyed it. I would definitely want to try it again. It was a delightful soft serve ice cream experience. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this shop at New Chitose Airport aiming to conquer all the ice cream and soft serve flavors. They offer many sweets made with Hokkaido ingredients. I bought the airport-exclusive "An Potato Soft Serve" here. The taste is a mix of soft serve and sweet potato, which is delicious. There is red bean paste inside, but I felt like it might be better without it. Thank you for the meal!

This is a souvenir for my mother who loves sweet potatoes. The skin-on sweet potato is heavy and has a shelf life of 3 days, including the purchase date. We ate half of it cold and the other half microwaved. Microwaving enhances the buttery aroma and sweetness, but I personally preferred it cold. The sweet potato is not too sweet, allowing the natural flavor of the ingredients to shine. It has two layers - a skin-on baked sweet potato layer and a sticky sweet potato layer, providing a delightful contrast in textures. Each sweet potato varies slightly in size, so I would choose the largest one at the store. It seems to be a seasonal limited edition product, priced at over 600 yen per piece. It's more expensive than my late-night hourly wage for two pieces! Thank you so much for the treat. ===========

Anpote Soft Serve Ice Cream ¥400
In the fiercely competitive soft serve ice cream area at Chitose Airport, I took on the challenge of the unconquered. I mainly enjoy the milk type that allows you to taste the milk. However, I found out that you can also eat it around Sapporo Station, so I became interested in trying something different. I have eaten anpote before and I like it. What will happen when it becomes soft serve ice cream? I started eating it as a completely different thing without intending to compare them. My first impression was, "It's sweet potato!" It's not overly sweet. There was sweet bean paste hidden at the bottom! I was surprised! But it's not overly sweet. This might be good.

In New Chitose Airport, there is a souvenir shop called "Wakasaimon" which offers a variety of products besides wakasaimo. They have a panel of the actor from Hokkaido, Fumio Kohinata, which makes you want to take a photo with it. Recently, they have become popular for their anpote soft serve ice cream. You can choose between a cone or a cup at the counter and pay in advance. The soft serve ice cream is yellow in color due to the addition of sweet potato and satsumaimo, with a smooth texture. The taste of satsumaimo is prominent, and it gives a traditional Japanese confectionery feel. As you eat, you will find red bean paste hidden at the bottom. There may be less red bean paste compared to other photos you have seen, but the unique taste is worth experiencing.

Cute airport manju with a lovely appearance. I wanted to buy a souvenir for my grandmother, so I purchased this one. I thought it was just a regular manju, but it was fluffy and had a glossy skin that was very delicious! The taste of brown sugar was also strong and satisfying! It's even better when warmed up a bit.

The yellow shop near the security inspection area really caught my eye with its big sign. I love sweet potatoes, red bean paste, and soft serve ice cream. I can't resist limited edition items. I prefer soft serve ice cream in a cone, and they even gave me a spoon. I had to hurry to take a picture before it melted. The soft serve ice cream tasted just like sweet potato, rich and delicious. Then the red bean paste came in the middle, and it was a perfect match. The red bean paste soft serve was amazing. I really enjoyed the combination of red bean paste and soft serve in a cone. It was heavy for a dessert, but I have no regrets. It was a great experience trying it out.

I tried the sweet potato soft serve ice cream for the first time! I was avoiding it because I thought it would be too sweet. It always ranks in the top 3 in the soft serve ice cream contest at Chitose Airport, so I was curious to try it this time. The soft serve ice cream wasn't as sweet as I expected! But there is red bean paste inside (laughs) and then the soft serve ice cream at the bottom. The cone is packed full! This will definitely fill you up! Maybe they could have put a little less red bean paste. I might not hate the soft serve ice cream! Would it have been better in a cup?

I said goodbye to my relatives at the boarding gate, but it was too early for lunch at 10 o'clock. So, I decided to do some food blogging here. I bought some sweets for the office lady, Sacchan, who was on duty that day. It only cost 330 yen. (laughs) Lemon cake for 200 yen and bear-shaped steamed buns for 130 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal! (^^)v

I love soft serve ice cream, and the limited edition soft serve at this place for 400 yen is happiness. I love both sweet potatoes and red bean paste, so this soft serve is the best! The sweet potato has a gentle flavor, so it's great to eat it with the red bean paste! ✨
