There are Kyoto Katsugyu restaurants all over the place, but in Minami, there is always a long line of inbound customers. I had the Beef Loin Katsu Set, size large, for 2079 yen. I noticed that adding cabbage, rice, and miso soup costs extra. I wonder if it's only free for lunch. The beef katsu is slightly thicker than the typical Western-style beef cutlet, and more refined than tonkatsu. There are various sauces for you to enjoy with the meal. I particularly liked finishing off with curry and wasabi.

I enjoyed trying various toppings like curry sauce, grated yam, soy sauce, black pepper, and beef cutlet sauce. It was delicious even when cooked rare on the hot stone. The staff behind the counter were very polite and gave me a boost of energy after a tiring day at work!

At Tabelog, you cannot make reservations, but it seems you can reserve by calling directly. Since there are only counter seats, it is recommended to go early. They have lunch menus for around 1,100 yen on weekdays. Today is Saturday, so I chose the Wagyu beef loin instead of the lunch special. It was very delicious, and it was nice to grill and eat it. I will definitely go again. The dressing for the cabbage was also delicious. I wish I had bought some to take home.

I sat at the counter seat, but the acrylic partition of the person next to me was sticking out about 1/3 towards me, so it felt really cramped! I had to hunch my shoulders while eating... which was a bit disappointing, but at this price, being able to enjoy a hearty beef cutlet meal is quite commendable. My child enjoyed the system of being able to reheat the cutlets on the hot plate. It's fun for adults too, right? The sauce is light and subtle (elegant taste), so it would be nice to have the option of a slightly stronger sauce as well. I visited this place because I wanted to eat some meat while on my way to the Valentine's chocolate event at Abeno Harukas. I ordered the greedy set with all kinds of beef cutlets. After waiting for a while, the meat dishes started arriving one after another. They also brought a hot plate for self-grilling. Shop: It's close to the station but a bit small. There are about 10 counter seats, so it's not recommended for large groups. Taste: Excellent. I was surprised to find beef tongue cutlets on the menu. It's also nice that you can cook it to your liking. My personal recommendation is to enjoy it rare with wasabi and dashi soy sauce.

As soon as I entered the restaurant, the staff were kind and made me feel at ease. They also explained the menu to me in a polite manner. I ordered the beef loin cutlet. When the dish was served, they asked if I wanted an explanation of the sauce. They provided a hot plate so I could cook and eat the cutlet. They even asked if I needed the fire to be lit again when it went out, showing that they were attentive to the customers. It was just a shame that I didn't find the meat delicious... I remember it being more tasty. The flavor of the meat wasn't very pronounced... The service was excellent though. Thank you for the meal!

I've always wondered about the name "Shinjuku Gochiso Building" in Shinjuku Gochiso Building, which has been around since before I was born, but when I looked it up, it turns out it opened in 1988. I wondered what "Shinjuku" meant in Shinjuku Gochiso Building, and apparently it was called "Osaka's Shinjuku" because various train lines converge in the Tennoji area. I've had beef cutlets before, and they are consistently delicious, but the bonito cutlet is made with freshly caught bonito and is fried to a nice crisp without any fishy smell. ・Condiments: Oba leaf, onion, green onion, Mitsuba, garlic miso, wasabi soy sauce, sansho salt, beef cutlet sauce, etc. You eat while changing the taste with these, but personally, I liked the garlic miso. First time trying gyukatsu! Since most places that are open past 9pm are smoking-permitted izakayas, I decided to come to this place even though it only has a counter. There are special menu items available if you add them as a LINE friend! I ordered the So-mori size, while my husband got the Dai size. You can eat it as is, but it's also nice to warm it up on the hot plate. There are various sauces available, including dashi soy sauce, wasabi with sansho pepper, salt, curry, and onsen tamago. Personally, I liked the dashi soy sauce the best. The Dai size that my husband ordered had a huge portion, which I think is quite a good deal. If you add them as a LINE friend, you can get unlimited rice, cabbage, and miso soup for free. The leftover onsen tamago was delicious when poured over rice. I would definitely want to come back to this place.

I discovered this hidden gem during a holiday lunchtime. Every restaurant in Abeno Harukas had long lines, so I got tired of it and came to this building instead. The food here is delicious. I had seconds of cabbage and red miso soup. It's very filling. You don't need to get extra meat, the regular portion is enough.

The lunch menu consists of various beef cutlet sets and beef cutlet bowls, with the two top choices being the "Large Beef Sauce Cutlet Bowl" (980 yen excluding tax) and the "Beef Sauce Cutlet Bowl" (830 yen excluding tax). I chose the "Beef Sauce Cutlet Bowl" this time. The dish was served promptly. The tray included a covered bowl, a soup bowl, and a small dish with wasabi. When I opened the bowl, I saw three flat beef cutlets placed on top of the rice. The beef cutlet was tender with a fine crispy coating. The sauce was sweet and savory, adding flavor to the dish. I prefer the simplicity of wasabi soy sauce. It was delicious, but it was so tender that it felt a bit unreliable. I think I prefer a more hearty and meaty beef cutlet. It's too lonely without people in this building.
