I went to "Restaurant Reizensou" in Kamikawabata-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Although it is called a restaurant, it has more of a cafe-like atmosphere. It is located on the first floor of a hotel, with a dining aspect as well. In the morning, I saw an older lady stirring white rice in a large pot through the screen door on my way back from the convenience store, and it was a nice scene. I had a coffee. They open from 7 am, so I recommend using their morning service. Breakfast costs 880 yen.

Today, I plan to eat plenty of vegetables for lunch, so I chose Japanese food. I ordered salmon, but it came with soy sauce! Could it be that they are reading this hotel review? Thank you. The vegetable side dish turned out to be potato salad... (probably from a large commercial bag). Potato salad is not a vegetable! (´;ω;`)

The salad from the previous day was good, but it's interesting that the Western-style breakfast here starts with salad. They don't have omelettes to choose from, just scrambled eggs or sunny-side-up eggs. I don't like sunny-side-up eggs, so I went with scrambled eggs. You can have unlimited bread with margarine, but I wish they had butter instead.

The breakfast venue at Reizenkaku Hotel Kawabata is located next to the entrance and front desk, making it convenient for long-term stays. There are three set menus available, but unfortunately, the French toast soaked in homemade cream that I was looking forward to is not currently being served. The breakfast costs 880 yen and consists of Japanese food with nori seaweed and miso soup. You can have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup. The drink options include roasted green tea, water, orange juice, milk, and coffee. The rice was a bit disappointing in quality. The orange juice had mentaiko (spicy pollack roe) in it. On this day, they served marinated salmon and grilled fish for the Japanese breakfast, but I wish they had included a salad.

Yesterday, when I woke up, breakfast time was already over (lol). Today, I had grilled salted mackerel, which is my favorite! I'm happy! It's full of delicious fat.

I wanted to eat salad so I tried a Western-style dish. Hmm, I still feel that this scrambled egg tastes like it's made for commercial use... It's heavy and I don't like it.

The scrambled eggs were heavy, but the fish dish was great. It's nice that the menu changes daily - today they had spinach ohitashi, which I enjoyed.

This is a restaurant review for Reisenkaku, a restaurant located in the corner of Reisenkaku Hotel in the relaxing spot of Ohori Park in Hakata. I met up with a friend who was staying at this hotel before showing them around Fukuoka. The restaurant serves breakfast from morning till night, offering both Japanese and Western options. We both chose the Japanese breakfast for 840 yen, which includes a drink from the drink bar. The main dish was grilled salmon with grated daikon radish and cabbage on the side. Alongside the grilled fish were rolled omelette, spicy cod roe, and a small dish of cold tofu. The miso soup had mushrooms in it, giving it a unique flavor. We ended the meal with coffee and went over our Fukuoka sightseeing schedule. Thanks to my friend from Osaka, I was able to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The restaurant is located on the corner as you head towards Ohori Park from Kamikawabata Shopping Street.
