In September 2022, after about a year since it was featured on Job Tun, I made a long-awaited visit to Denny's. It had been around 10 years since I last visited, and upon arrival at 11 am, there was a wait of about 3 groups. We were seated after a 15-minute wait and decided to go for the Denny's Satisfaction Set for ¥2,250, which included a main dish, a side dish, and access to the drink bar. We used the tablet provided at the table to select our main and side dishes. For the main dish, we chose the Beef Hamburger Steak [about 200g] with a choice of sauce (served with rice), which had received unanimous praise on TV. For the side dish, we opted for the Matcha Shiratama Mini Parfait made with "New" Matcha ice cream using only "Ichiban-cha" tea from Kyoto. Surprisingly, we couldn't choose to have the dessert after the meal, so we had to request the change verbally after ordering. It seemed to be a setting mistake. The drink bar was a bit confusing for us since it had been a while, so we started with a Ginger Ale Lemon soda, which had a refreshing lemon flavor. It was a hot sunny day, and the carbonated drink was enjoyable. The main dish, Beef Hamburger Steak [about 200g], arrived, and while the presentation and aroma were good, the meat lacked juiciness. The rice portion was surprisingly small, but it turned out to be just right considering we had dessert coming up. Moving on to the dessert, the Matcha Ice Cream and Shiratama were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, with a good balance of sweetness and matcha flavor. The mint garnish added a fresh touch to the dessert. Although the hamburger was not as expected, the dessert was a highlight of the meal. Overall, it was an eye-opener to the challenges faced by chain restaurants. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing work, I visited Denny's with my wife. It had been a long time since we last went there. When I was a child, going to a family restaurant felt like a treat. I ordered the hamburger and cut steak with garlic rice set. The hamburger was made with 100% beef and was very satisfying. The garlic rice was seasoned with soy sauce, giving it a sinful flavor. I also wanted to have a parfait, so I ordered the Amaou strawberry parfait, which filled my stomach perfectly. Denny's is one of the family restaurants with high quality.

I ordered the Chicken Jambalaya, which was featured on Job Tune and received unanimous approval from the judges. However, when it was served, I couldn't help but think "looks can be deceiving!" because it was very small in portion size. Despite that, the taste was spicy and delicious. On the other hand, my wife ordered the Herb Chicken and Vegetable Emerald Noodles, which lived up to its appearance with plenty of vegetables and looked delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After filling our stomachs at "Katsuya," we headed to "Denny's" for some dessert. I had the "Peach Cheese Parfait" for 599 yen, while my partner had the "Anmitsu Mini Parfait" for 438 yen. We also got the drink bar. The dessert menu was called "Momo Matsuri." There were many types of parfaits to choose from, but after a big bowl of katsudon, we opted for smaller parfaits. The fresh peaches were ripe, sweet, and delicious. The creamy cheese cream paired perfectly with the peaches, making it even more delicious. Thank you, Denny's, for the satisfying dessert experience!

I used it for lunch. The curry rice was so delicious that I think it was the best. The pancakes were free with a service ticket for 5 times, so I can use it 2 more times. Revisit index ★★ Recommended index ★★★

I visited around 8 pm on the middle day of a consecutive holidays. The parking lot was easy to access and spacious. Denny's is considered a high-class family restaurant. I remember attending a company briefing session during my job hunting days. What left a strong impression on me was the fact that when a dessert was ordered at Denny's, the staff member taking the order would actually make the dessert themselves, instead of having the kitchen staff prepare it. During my job hunting days, I relied on my own eyes, taste buds, physical strength, recommendations from friends and family, as food review websites like Tabelog were not as prevalent as they are today. I was always busy with school, friends, part-time jobs, and had little money. I often had lunch or worked on entry sheets at Yoshinoya, Sukiya, Denny's, or Jonathan. Among them, I think I frequented Denny's the most for late dinners with busy friends or during gaps in our schedules. There were several locations near my home and school, which made it convenient. Now that I have a child, restaurants where I can eat while my baby is in a stroller are valuable. Denny's also offers baby food, such as a retort pouch of Shirasu rice porridge from Wakodo for around 150 yen. This is a real lifesaver. They serve it at the right temperature. I ordered the ginger pork set meal for around 1,000 yen. The ginger pork was not greasy and very delicious. Another reason I have a fondness for Denny's is because of the book "Family Restaurant" by Kiyoshi Shigematsu, which was serialized in the Mainichi Shimbun. Since then, in my mind, family restaurant equals Denny's.

In October, I tried "Dry Aged Beef" for the first time in Honolulu and was captivated by its charm. Recently, as I passed by the Denny's in front of Machida Station, I noticed an advertisement for this "Dry Aged Beef." I had been wanting to visit with my family soon, and coincidentally, I came across a Denny's near Minamiosawa Station, so we decided to visit. There were three adults and one child in our group. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm, and the staff were polite, making it seem like a relaxed place for lunch. It had been a while since I last visited Denny's, and the impression was different this time, with a selection of high-quality dishes. As planned, we ordered two dishes of "Dry Aged Beef," a steak with Kinoko sauce, and the eye-catching Beef Fillet Rossini-style. The child had the standard kids' lunch. The "Dry Aged Beef" that arrived was made with beef tendon, and the depth of flavor from aging was delicious. Perhaps due to the cut of meat, there was quite a chewy texture, but it allowed us to savor the umami of aged meat even more. The steak was simple, seasoned with salt and pepper to enjoy the natural flavor of the meat. On the other hand, the Kinoko sauce, made with demi-glace and mustard, was wonderfully delicious. It enhanced the umami of the aged meat and was enjoyable. Additionally, the "Beef Fillet Rossini-style Steak" was well done, with a rich and small piece of foie gras, complementing the fillet steak and sauce very well, making it delicious. The kids' lunch with hamburger and fried chicken was also excellently prepared. Despite being a family restaurant, the recent level of improvement is astounding. Thank you for the wonderful lunch.

The Gâteau Chocolat Brownie is delicious.
