I visited this restaurant, Marugame Seimen Umeda branch, which is located about a 3-4 minute walk from Umeda Station on the subway. I visited on a Tuesday evening around 8:30 pm and it was not too crowded. I ordered the half-price Kamaage Udon (large) and two types of tempura. The udon was served in a bowl instead of a bucket. The udon was a bit lukewarm, but the tempura (chicken and eggplant) was tasty. The tempura was a bit cold as it seemed to be pre-made. Overall, despite the lukewarm dishes, the meal was satisfying and good value for the half-price deal. I would visit another branch in the future.

I visited the restaurant on the 1st of the month, which is half-price day for kettle-cooked udon. I arrived at 10 am to avoid the crowds and it was quiet at first, but started getting busier after 11 am. I ordered a large kettle-cooked udon for 240 yen, with toppings of squid tempura, conger eel tempura, and grated radish, the total came to 740 yen including tax. It was a great deal! (^^)

Today, I could only take a short lunch break at work, so I was looking for something quick to eat and I found Marugame. My stomach was feeling tired, so it was just right. I ordered grated daikon soy sauce udon with inari age. It's amazing how udon of this quality is served in an instant! It's been a while since I've had it, but it was delicious! After several months, I went to Marugame Seimen. It has become more convenient as it is now seen everywhere. It's great that they accept various electronic payments. I always order the same thing, kake udon and toriten, as I find them the most delicious. This time, I tried the cold kake udon, which may have been a bit of a mistake. The noodles are usually firm, but when served cold, they become hard and lose their original chewiness. I feel like they may have rinsed them too much with water. The broth, in my opinion, is exceptionally delicious, and I like that you can add unlimited toppings like green onions. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious food.

The collaboration product that is being heavily promoted in TV commercials, the Cold Tomato-Curry Udon. The color is so different from curry that it's surprising. Maybe because it's cold, the noodles are even more chewy and have an amazing firmness. It's quite a challenge to bite through the noodles, but the chewy texture is impressive. They always provide a paper apron, probably because they warn you that the soup might splash. The tomato chunks give it an Italian-like feel to the curry that shakes things up. The spiciness lingers and breaks the usual expectations for curry udon. It comes with a small serving of rice, which is a great addition. After watching a movie, I visited this place. The interior is all counter seating and it was crowded after 9:00, but the turnover was fast. I ordered the regular size of kake udon. The noodles are definitely tastier compared to other chain restaurants. Eating out has been getting more expensive lately, so it's great to be able to eat at a low price. And the taste is consistently good. Thank you for the meal.

On January 30, 2023, I went to Marugame Seimen after seeing a TV commercial for their "Meat and Egg Ankake Udon" that looked so delicious. I arrived around 11:30 am and the restaurant was about 70% full. I ordered the "Meat and Egg Ankake Udon" at the counter, and it was cooked fresh and served hot. I also added a Chikuwa tempura at the tempura station, and the total came to 820 yen (690 yen for the udon and 130 yen for the tempura). The udon had a good chewy texture, the egg ankake was hot and tasty, and the meat was slightly sweet but delicious. The only regret was forgetting to use a 50 yen discount coupon. Oh well! Thank you for the meal♪♪♪

Located across from Don Quijote in Umeda, this shop caught my attention with its limited-time menu featuring a cold udon dish topped with mountain vegetables. As a fan of cold udon, I knew I had to try it before the limited period ended. I hurried to the shop, which opens at 10 am, and arrived at 10:05 am on a holiday. There were already 4-5 customers inside, all of them young people. I was definitely the oldest one there. I quickly ordered the "Mountain Vegetable and Grated Radish Cold Udon" for 590 yen. The dish arrived looking visually appealing with a generous amount of mountain vegetables. The cold broth was refreshing and I couldn't help but think I wanted to carry it in a water bottle. Towards the end, I added grated radish and sudachi to change up the flavor to a refreshing taste. The udon had a firm texture in the cold broth, making it enjoyable to chew. The toppings included a variety of mountain vegetables, with carrots standing out due to their red color. I may not know the names of all the mountain vegetables, but they all made for a delightful meal. Even after finishing the udon, there were plenty of mountain vegetables left in the bowl. I mixed them with the broth and finished every last bit. It was a satisfying meal as expected, and I look forward to the next limited-time menu. Now, I'm thinking of heading to Whity Umeda for a midday drink. Thank you for the meal.

Lunchtime is always lined up here! I had tried to go to the location in Kitashinchi area before, but the line was too long so I gave up. This time, I decided to go at 11:15 am on a Saturday and was relieved to see no line. I ordered the "hiyakake" with salmon onigiri. The broth wasn't too cold, and the chewy noodles had a nice texture and were delicious. Plus, it's affordable for this area! The salmon onigiri had a generous amount of salmon on top, so be careful when opening the wrapper as it may scatter around. The fluffy warm rice and flavorful salmon made the small onigiri very tasty. It had been about 3 years since I last visited Marugame Seimen, but it was a satisfying and quick meal.

After finishing a meeting at the main store, I was walking towards Kitashinchi as usual to have lunch. A colleague invited me to have ramen at Ichiran in Umeda, so I decided to join them. The weather today was too warm, and I could feel sweat forming on my forehead as I walked on the ground. When I arrived at the store, there was a line outside, probably due to the lunchtime rush. I found it difficult to wait in the heat, so I decided to go to a nearby place and have something cold instead. I opted for the reliable taste of Marugame Seimen in Umeda. I chose the "bukkake" style with a stronger broth and added some fried tofu on top. I also ordered a side of tempura fish cake. After getting my order, I added ginger, tempura flakes, and extra green onions. Marugame Seimen allows you to add as many green onions as you like, which I appreciate. The combination of the rich broth and chewy cold noodles was good, but the sweet fried tofu clashed with the flavors. The fried tofu might go better with a lighter broth. The cold fried tofu noodles will be something to look forward to next time.

I watched a YouTuber's video ranking Marugame Seimen's menu, and even though I went in wanting to try the bukkake udon, I ended up giving in to the temptation of my favorite mentaiko udon. The interior of the restaurant had counter seats, and I immediately lined up to order. Dishes like tempura and inari sushi were self-service, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy. The cashier was a kind Kansai-style lady, with a gentle smile and voice that was very comforting. I poured the dashi soy sauce over my udon, which had firm noodles and a satisfying portion size. The spiciness of the mentaiko paired perfectly with the udon. I chose the onsen egg as my topping, and I received a udon stamp card at checkout. If I collect three stamps, I can get a free topping, so I definitely want to go back within the promotional period!

Marugame Seimen near HEP in Umeda. It's across from Don Quijote. You order in a self-service style. Today, because it was cold, I got the an-kake. I added sweet potato tempura from the side menu. Marugame Seimen Noodle with spicy cod roe sauce (regular size) is 530 yen, sweet potato tempura is 120 yen. Green onions, tempura scraps, etc. are self-service. You also have to get your own water. There are no face-to-face table seats, only single seats facing the wall.

The other day, my rarely used phone rang! It was Marugame Seimen offering a 150 yen discount on their signature dish, Kama-age Udon. Even cheaper udon with an additional 150 yen off? I couldn't resist and decided to have lunch at Marugame Seimen after a long time. While all their udon dishes are delicious, the Kama-age Udon is my absolute favorite, so I used the coupon and got it for 140 yen. I also ordered a side of tempura for just over 200 yen. I love that I can help myself to as much green onion as I want. Is there any other place where you can have such a satisfying and affordable lunch? Marugame Seimen, the people's ally! Continuing to struggle with COVID-19 in the 2021 fiscal year. I would like to express my gratitude to all the restaurants that have been operating while taking infection control measures. Thanks to them, I have been able to enjoy a few moments of happiness every day. Therefore, the closing dish of this year was Marugame Seimen's Ankake Udon. By adding ginger, it becomes an even more warming dish. A busy year is coming to an end. I have enjoyed many delicious meals in 2021. It is a happy thing.

Kamatama udon with mixed egg. Pour dashi soy sauce over it when eating. Pour the sauce while it's still warm. You can enjoy it in various ways. It seems that pouring ten-dare sauce makes it rich in flavor. The kashiwa tempura seems to have gotten smaller.

I went to Marugame Seimen for the first time in a while. It's always crowded at lunchtime. The main customers are students and office workers nearby. This time, I noticed the Tartar Toriten Udon, so I ordered it. It looks delicious. The visual presentation is quite nice. It seems high in calories. The udon is as tasty as always. The Toriten is also delicious. However, in my personal opinion, the Tartar sauce throws off the balance. The udon and Tartar sauce don't really go well together. I think it would be even tastier if they were served separately. This is just my personal opinion.

Entering October, on the first Sunday of the month, I had to go to Umeda for some errands. While wandering around to satisfy my hunger before the meeting time, I stumbled upon a Marugame Seimen (udon noodle) restaurant. Surprisingly, it was located near Don Quijote and there were many people passing by. It was around 11 o'clock, so the restaurant was moderately empty. Without much hesitation, I decided on what to eat. - Kama-age Udon: 290 yen As I walked through the self-service line, I couldn't help but notice the fried foods on display. Impulses come like a lightning bolt in a single moment. That's why they're called impulses. - Squid Tempura: 130 yen - Bamboo Ring Tempura: 120 yen I impulsively bought them. I quickly paid 540 yen with PayPay. I helped myself to ginger, green onions, and tenkasu (tempura bits) at the condiment corner. The dining counter had wooden partitions installed, giving a sense of privacy but also a feeling of being confined. The udon noodles were the classic thick noodles with a delightful chewiness and smoothness. The tempura, however, was disappointing. Despite not much time passing since the opening, they were cold. Especially the bamboo ring tempura was too hard and lacked flavor. Nevertheless, I was satisfied with the quality of the udon noodles. This self-service udon restaurant, a modern version of fast food, is convenient to have nearby. Bon appétit.

Located not far from Higashi-Umeda Station. I stopped by here today. It's just Marugame Seimen, but I haven't been here in about 5 years. So I kind of forgot how to order, etc... I ordered the hot Kake Udon. I also got some tempura with chicken and egg, and then paid. By the way, you can help yourself to the green onions, so I went for a lot like you would with ramen. Now, time to eat! The udon has a nice texture, but I still prefer cold udon haha. I visited during regular dinner time, so the tempura was almost freshly fried, which was good. For 600 yen with this quality, the cost performance is great. So, thanks for the meal! It's been a while, but Marugame is nice to visit once in a while.
