I went to the KYK Tennoji Mio store located on top of Osaka Tennoji Mio. I wanted to eat tonkatsu and remembered this KYK. When I arrived, it was already past 8 pm, and there were about 4 groups of people waiting, so it's a very popular place. After waiting for about 35 minutes, I finally got in. I ordered the Kagoshima black pork loin tonkatsu, oyster and bite-sized tonkatsu, and domestic loin tonkatsu. For an additional 100 yen, you get all-you-can-eat curry. There were also options like adding a drink bar for an extra 100 yen, which surprised me as it didn't exist before. I tried both the black pork and domestic tonkatsu, but couldn't really tell the difference. The miso soup was delicious with plenty of ingredients. Thank you for the meal!

The mixed plate of deep-fried shrimp and pork cutlet was priced at 1410 yen. The restaurant had few staff members, so we had to wait. The staff seemed busy with cleaning and cash register. The cooking also took some time. The freshly fried cutlets were delicious. We had refills of salad, and my husband had refills of rice. We also ordered a kids' meal with pork cutlet for our son, priced at 1100 yen, which came with free miso soup. Thank you for the meal.

The kaki furai and kujo negi oroshi kurobuta were all sold out (should have told me earlier!). I indulged in the luxury of black pork tenderloin with all-you-can-eat curry, with miso soup and sauce on the sweeter side. The curry was slightly spicy and served lukewarm. The white rice was delicious, especially with salt. If it's a chain restaurant, I prefer Katsukura, but the all-you-can-eat curry here is dangerously good - I ended up eating way too much!

I visited because I was craving tonkatsu. The thick tonkatsu was delicious. I was able to get seconds for the salad and miso soup. I arrived around 2pm and even though there were new customers, they were able to accommodate my additional order without any issues. The service was polite and I was able to relax and enjoy my meal in a calm atmosphere. They also offer all-you-can-eat curry for an additional 100 yen, but I didn't opt for it since I can't eat it. They have a drink bar as well, and the staff kindly explained everything in detail, making it a welcoming place for first-time visitors. I prefer alcohol over soft drinks, but since I can't drink right now, I decided to enjoy my meal quietly. It's nice that they offer free tea. I plan to visit again for lunch once alcohol is allowed.

I went to KYK, a familiar restaurant in the 4th floor dining area of Tennoji Mio Plaza building directly above JR Tennoji Station. I finished work in the morning on this day and decided to have lunch there. The restaurant has a bright and clean atmosphere, with a total of 66 seats at tables. In the middle of the restaurant, there is a drink bar and a small buffet area where you can serve yourself drinks, curry, rice, and miso soup. This time, I was looking forward to the seasonal delight of oyster fry. I ordered the "Oyster Fry Set" (1,230 yen) and also opted for the all-you-can-eat curry for an additional 100 yen. A salad mainly made of shredded cabbage and a plate of curry were served promptly. I quickly went to get the curry with my plate. The rice was in a large jar, and the curry and miso soup were in a thermos pot. The curry, a simple type with minced meat, had the distinctive spicy and rich flavor typical of KYK, which also has a curry specialty store called "San Marco" in its group. Soon after, the plate of oyster fry, rice, and miso soup arrived. The oyster fry was arranged on a round plate with a net underneath, with five large oyster fries lined up, accompanied by lemon and shredded cabbage. The oyster fry was freshly fried and piping hot. The batter was thick but light when fried. Squeezing lemon over it, I could taste the juicy and flavorful oysters with a firm and bouncy texture. A separate plate was filled with tartar sauce, allowing you to enjoy the oyster fry with either the tonkatsu sauce on the table or the tartar sauce. Of course, it was also delicious with just lemon. While this may seem like a typical way to enjoy oyster fry, there was another way to enjoy it here. I went back to get more curry sauce and placed it on top of the rice and oyster fry in a rice bowl, creating oyster fry curry. The meeting of the oceanic flavor of the oysters and the spicy curry resulted in an exquisite taste. This unique way of enjoying oyster fry is one of the charms of KYK, beloved by people in Kansai.

◎Osaka Tennoji Night Tonkatsu and Drinks◎
To enjoy tonkatsu and fried food with drinks, I went to "Suihan KYK Tennoji Mio Store" on the 4th floor of Tennoji Mio Plaza building at JR Tennoji Station. This is a famous tonkatsu chain in Kansai. Although it originated in Sannomiya, Kobe, the current headquarters is in Abeno-ku, Osaka City, and they have branches in Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Wakayama, Aichi, and Mie prefectures. On this day, I enjoyed delicious tonkatsu, hirekatsu, and shrimp fry set meals, and filled my stomach with great food and drinks. This branch is conveniently located in Tennoji Mio, making it easy to enjoy high-quality tonkatsu and fried food at a reasonable price. 😉

Located on the 4th floor of JR Tennoji Station Building Mio Plaza, I decided to go there after a live show at Osaka Castle Hall. Many restaurants in Jyotown were closing at 7 pm, so I gave up and headed back to Tennoji. I went up to the 4th floor of Mio Plaza and entered the restaurant. They asked me to wait outside. Although there were empty tables inside, I waited after another customer who arrived before me. The wait was long and frustrating, but I decided to stick it out. Eventually, I ordered the mixed pork cutlet with fillet and loin for 1580 yen. It took some time for the cutlets to be fried, so I was served sauce, warm tea, and salad first. The cutlets with rice and miso soup arrived about 10 minutes later. The set meal included a semi-buffet with various side dishes like hijiki seaweed, lotus root kinpira, potato salad, burdock root salad, pickles, herring roe salad, daikon radish, shredded cabbage, and a mixed drink selection of cold tea, water, and tomato juice. The pork cutlets were cooked well, with the fillet slightly pink in the center. I enjoyed them with special sauce mixed with ground sesame and mustard. The generous serving of shredded cabbage was delicious. The curry was surprisingly spicy.

Kyukyukyu, located on the 4th floor of Tennoji Mio Plaza, had a short wait of about 10 minutes on a Saturday around noon with 2 groups ahead. I ordered the Herewanko Tonkatsu Set for ¥1160. It came with all-you-can-eat salad, miso soup, rice, tomato juice, vegetable bouillon curry, and side dishes like hijiki, burdock salad, koya tofu, and renkon kinpira. The koya tofu was my favorite! The tonkatsu was delicious, and there were 3 types of salad with various sauces on the table. The creamy tomato dressing was my favorite and went well with the tonkatsu. The curry was a bit spicy for my sweet tooth, so I mixed it with burdock salad and dressing to mellow it out. The tomato juice was also really tasty! I added koya tofu and fried wheat gluten to the curry for a personalized touch. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and even got a 5% discount for presenting my SD card for safe driving. The staff were all very friendly. I ended up staying for 2 and a half hours - sorry for the long stay! Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went to a tonkatsu restaurant in MIO Plaza because I was craving tonkatsu! The person I went with ordered the fried oysters which were also delicious. The tonkatsu was tender and tasty as expected! The salad and side dishes are all-you-can-eat, and you can also have curry! It's quite a good deal for lunch! I went on Valentine's Day and received chocolate and a discount coupon, so lucky!

It's been a while since I visited KYK. The buffet food is all-you-can-eat for free (lol). I filled up on curry and had seconds of tonkatsu 200g, so now I'm stuffed (lol). Now, I'm off to see the Yodogawa fireworks. #Tennoji Mio #Tennoji MIO #Tennoji Station 0 minutes walk #tonkatsu #KYK #buffet #Yodogawa fireworks
