I visited the popular okonomiyaki restaurant, the second branch of AT THE 21 in Osaka Toyonaka, which opened on June 1, 2023. As I was walking in Minami Senba, I came across a new-looking shop and was immediately drawn to the photo of "Okonomiyaki Buta" on the menu board outside. The interior of the restaurant had a stylish cafe-like atmosphere with 28 table seats. When I asked the staff for details, I found out that it was the second branch of a very popular restaurant in Toyonaka that had just opened in June. I was glad to have stumbled upon such a place. I ordered the "Okonomiyaki Buta" which was available at a special price on weekdays. The dish arrived in less than 10 minutes, served on a moderately sized square iron plate, with a hot and delicious pork okonomiyaki. The batter was made with carefully selected ingredients such as chicken broth and kelp, and high-quality wheat flour used for cakes. The appearance of the okonomiyaki was unique, especially with the three-circle mayonnaise on top. The batter was fluffy and had a different texture from yam, with a hint of chicken broth and kelp. Even without sauce, the batter itself was delicious. The cabbage inside was perfectly cooked, and the surface with pork belly was crispy and golden brown, resembling my favorite bacon. The balance between the fluffy batter and crispy pork, along with the sweet Okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise, was perfect. It was incredibly delicious. The people of Toyonaka are so lucky to have been eating such delicious okonomiyaki regularly. I regret not trying it sooner. The staff also mentioned that the cheese okonomiyaki and the popular No. 1 Modern-yaki were also very delicious. I can't wait to go back and try them out, along with the Negiyaki, Yakisoba, Omusoba, and other dishes. The staff, two very friendly guys, made the experience even better. Thank you so much. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant, AT THE 21 Namba. I, the timid samba dancer, thank you.

When I visited the main store, it was quite crowded and we had to wait, and we couldn't make additional orders along the way. The Namba store allows reservations and additional orders, so we were able to try a variety of dishes. This time there were 4 of us, so we could split everything equally. Next time we plan to go with 8 people, so we can split and enjoy the food equally again. The staff's service was also good.

I might be transferred to Tokyo soon, so before that, I thought I'd have some cheese okonomiyaki again. It doesn't really matter, but I liked the visual of the spiral one from last time. It was cute. The female staff at the part-time job is still cool as ever. It seems busier this time compared to last time, probably because it's the middle of Silver Week or maybe because the place is becoming more well-known. Both the customer on my left and the one on my right were talking about how their friends from Toyonaka said it's delicious here. Cheese okonomiyaki (pork) / 1450 yen. The batter is soft, and if you look closely, the cabbage is chopped so small that it could almost be used as dumpling filling. This is probably one of the reasons for its softness, and the cabbage tastes sweet. The pork belly is crispy and fragrant, mixed in with the batter, similar to the "butatama" style, but since the kitchen is out of view, it's unclear how it's cooked. Probably, they spread and grill the cheese until it's crispy on the surface. They probably flip it over once to cook the cheese side. Maybe. So, the upper part of the batter is like a crispy cheese hat, making the whole batter seem like it's covered with a thick, crispy cheese layer. I have preferred the softness that was evident from the sliced spatula used in the pork belly okonomiyaki I had last time. It's a matter of personal preference. The delicious feeling I had when I first tried it last time has diminished. The batter is tasty. My focus is drawn to the crispy cheese on the surface, which is why I'm not as thrilled as before. Both the people on my sides were having the "modern-yaki," which is okonomiyaki with thick yakisoba noodles on top and a fluffy egg on top of that. It seems to be a specialty of this restaurant. But for me, I'm all about the pork belly. That's it.

There is a super popular okonomiyaki restaurant that I used to go to often after fishing at Lake Biwa, and it seems like they have opened a branch in Minami now. Of course, I had the Buta Modan. The volume and taste were as great as ever. I wonder if the old man is still doing well.

Lately, I have been traveling quite frequently, but I always come back empty-handed. On this day, I decided to target flour-based dishes and okonomiyaki, and headed to this relatively new but well-reputed place. The main store is in Toyonaka, but it's far from my business trip location, so I went to the second store run by the owner's son. The modern exterior, beautiful interior, and ordered the squid and pork okonomiyaki. The swirl of mayo on top was quite cute. When I inserted the small spatula that came with the hot okonomiyaki, it was softer than I had imagined. I had imagined it would be firmer, so I was surprised. I could tell that there was a lot of yam in it, giving it a unique texture. The inside was also piping hot. I quickly finished the okonomiyaki while huffing and puffing. A pair of customers, an older gentleman, cracked some typical Osaka jokes, and we all laughed along. Osaka people are so fun. I bought some squid and pork yakisoba as a souvenir and headed to Tokyo from Itami Airport. It was still delicious as lunch the next day, even when cold! Next time, I'll try the visually appealing omusoba or Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Thank you for the meal!

Today, the restaurant I was planning to go to was unexpectedly closed, so I decided to visit a different place. I knew that there was a trendy okonomiyaki restaurant behind Namba called "Harami no Kamisama," and I found out from a review by a fellow reviewer that it was a branch of a popular restaurant in Toyonaka, so I decided to check it out. The name of the restaurant is "AT THE 21 namba." They offer a lunch set with either pork okonomiyaki or pork yakisoba for 900 yen, which is quite a good deal! The previous customer was a woman dining alone. I ordered the pork okonomiyaki and an iced coffee. Since it was okonomiyaki, it took a bit of time to be served, but when it arrived, it was placed on a hot iron plate on a wooden frame, which looked quite impressive. Despite being sensitive to hot food, I decided to eat it with the "kote." It was delicious! The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and made the atmosphere very welcoming. The only downside was that they didn't offer rice. Overall, it was a great dining experience! Thank you for the meal!

Today, I visited "AT THE 21 namba," which opened on June 1, 2023. A popular okonomiyaki restaurant from Toyonaka has made its first appearance in Namba. I spotted the location of the restaurant on my way back from "Aji no Mise Ichiban PREMIUM Sennichimae Store" yesterday, so I decided to check it out.
- Okonomiyaki Buta + Iced Coffee = 1000 yen
They offer a lunch set with two choices: okonomiyaki and yakisoba. I started with the "Okonomiyaki Buta" and added an iced coffee for an additional 100 yen. According to the official information, "the batter is made with carefully selected ingredients such as chicken bones, kombu, and high-quality wheat flour used for cakes. This creates a deep flavor and light texture. Cabbage and green onions are sourced from the best producers each season."
The portion size was decent, with a fluffy texture inside from the cabbage. The crispy pork added a delicious umami flavor, and the mustard-flavored mayonnaise was a nice touch. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
The interior of the restaurant consists of only table seats, but they also have two-person seats, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy. Next time, I'll try the yakisoba. Let's strive on the path to enlightenment, sneak in, and have no regrets in the end.

Second visit to the Namba store, near Minami for some errands. Once again, I had the okonomiyaki at AH・THE21 and it was so fluffy, flavorful, and the portion was generous. The taste is just unbeatable, I don't think other okonomiyaki places can replicate it. The Namba store is convenient for those who want to have some drinks along with their teppanyaki dishes. There were quite a few foreigners as customers that day. I tried to explain in broken English, I wonder if they understood (laughs). AH・THE21, the popular okonomiyaki place in Kita-Senri, always has long lines. This place is bound to become even more popular in the future.

I watched a video of the main store on YouTube and was really interested, so I went to the store in Namba. The modern style was very delicious with tasty sauce, and I enjoyed both yakisoba and okonomiyaki, it was delicious. The negiyaki was a bit too plain in taste, maybe because I had the modern style first, so I preferred the modern style. It was delicious and had a generous portion, but the prices for drinks were a bit high. There are many cheap and delicious restaurants in Namba.

I heard that one of the famous okonomiyaki restaurants in Toyonaka has opened a branch in Ura Namba, so I decided to visit. The restaurant is quite spacious and there is no counter in front of the teppan grill. This time, I ordered the modern-style pork and squid okonomiyaki. Even though it takes some time to cook thoroughly, even when it's not crowded, the appearance is slightly different from when I had it at the main branch. However, it still offers a generous portion just like at the main branch. The only downside is the price... It may be due to the rising cost of ingredients and the location, but it takes some courage to come here for a meal.

I tried the okonomiyaki at this restaurant! The batter was fluffy and delicious~ Personally, I loved that it had konnyaku and chikuwa in it! The interior of the restaurant is clean and stylish, making it a great place for a date or girls' night out. Unlike the typical okonomiyaki restaurants where they cook it right in front of you on a large teppan, here they bring it out on a smaller teppan that suits the dish. So it's not too hot, even in the middle of summer. The restaurant was recommended by a friend from Toyonaka, and the Namba branch isn't very well-known yet, so you can enjoy a leisurely meal there. They even took a photo for us as a service and chatted with us as we left. I visited with a friend from Tokyo, so we ordered a small size (economy) okonomiyaki, but I'd like to come back to try the modanyaki and omusoba.

The customer service is excellent. The taste is delicious. Due to its location in a narrow alley, there are no long lines yet, but it may become crowded as more people come to know about it in the future. I ordered yakisoba and pork okonomiyaki. The yakisoba has crispy noodles that are irresistible. The pork okonomiyaki has a fluffy texture and is also delicious.

It's located in a somewhat overlooked spot in Ura-Namba. With a brown tent roof, this place seems to be a Nishisaka-style okonomiyaki restaurant that has expanded to Namba. The sign "at the 21" doesn't give away much about the type of restaurant it is. They recently started serving lunch, as indicated by a handwritten sign. The interior is neat and resembles a cafe terrace. During lunchtime on weekdays, you can enjoy pork okonomiyaki or pork yakisoba for 900 yen (regular price is 1100 yen), with an additional 100 yen for orange juice or iced coffee. Despite the seemingly high price, the food is meticulously prepared and delicious. The okonomiyaki has a soft texture and is not the typical Osaka-style okonomiyaki. The recommended dishes are the Modern Yaki and Cheese Yaki, but I opted for the Pork Tamago this time, which was a good choice. The cabbage is finely chopped and the pork is mixed into the batter. The mayonnaise topping is blended with mustard, creating a beautiful swirl. The menu is focused on okonomiyaki, yakisoba, negiyaki, and modern yaki, without the usual foil-grilled dishes. The simplicity of the menu is refreshing. The interior, although neat, feels a bit too empty and could use some improvement. The staff were quiet but the kitchen staff seemed lively. Overall, stumbling upon this hidden gem in Ura-Namba and trying their delicious okonomiyaki might make you feel like you've made a great discovery. Delicious!

I visited the restaurant with my family on a holiday afternoon. The location is south of Namba Station (Kintetsu Namba Station) on Sakaisuji Street. Turn right at the third traffic light, then left at the first intersection on the right (Akaura-suji). A staff member greeted us and took our large bags, then seated us at a 4-person table. We were indecisive about what to order, so the staff recommended the Sukiyaki-style beef for 1,800 yen, pork yakisoba for 1,100 yen, and pork okonomiyaki for 700 yen, along with a highball cocktail for 550 yen. The food was prepared in the kitchen. The pork yakisoba was crispy and had a good amount of vegetables. The seasoning was standard but not too soggy. Next was the pork okonomiyaki, which had a nice, fluffy egg texture. Lastly, we had the Sukiyaki-style beef, which had a lot of yakisoba noodles. It was refreshing and easy to eat. After paying, the staff kindly saw us off and engaged in friendly conversation about Osaka and things to do there. The restaurant offers Wi-Fi, which was convenient as the cell signal was weak. Overall, the service was very attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. It's within walking distance from Namba area. There is a waiting area, but it wasn't needed during our visit. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is very clean, and it seems that many people from nearby workplaces come here for lunch. They offer lunch sets on weekdays, such as okonomiyaki or yakisoba with a drink for 1000 yen. The prices are really good. The staff is very friendly. The food is also really delicious.

This restaurant seems to be popular, but when I went there, I was the only customer and had the place to myself. I heard that their Modanyaki (modern style okonomiyaki) is delicious, so I ordered the Squid Modanyaki for 1600 yen. It was served in about 15 minutes, and it was really thick! It was not the type where they put yakisoba inside, but rather they cooked the okonomiyaki, topped it with yakisoba, and a fried egg. It was my first time seeing this type. The outside was crispy and the inside was fluffy, the cooking was perfect and it was delicious. It was more like a set of okonomiyaki and yakisoba rather than Modanyaki, so it might be a good choice for one person. The owner mentioned that they are struggling with attracting customers, maybe because of the location, appearance, and prices. The prices start from 1100 yen, which is considered expensive for okonomiyaki, especially in Namba where there are many famous okonomiyaki restaurants. There are a lot of foreign tourists around, and I was even mistaken for one (laughs).

Modern yaki without waiting at 18:00 - Buta for 1,500 yen (tax included) (without mustard, pickled ginger, seaweed, bonito flakes) Negiyaki - Suji for 1,550 yen. The modern yaki is fluffy from the bottom to the top - okonomiyaki, soba (thin noodles), egg (thinly cooked egg). It's a hearty portion of Negiyaki - Suji with lots of green onions and fluffy texture. It's the first time I've seen Negiyaki with egg on top. Originally, we were set on the modern yaki, but we were also considering the omu soba. Both of us ended up choosing this. I think this place is famous for its modern yaki. It's hard to go to the Toyonaka store, so I'm glad this one opened. It opened in June 2023, so maybe it's not well-known yet. I didn't expect it to be this empty. Just a heads up, they don't provide aprons. The staff were friendly and lovely. It's a hidden gem.

A beautiful okonomiyaki restaurant that is easy for women to use. It seems to be the second store of a famous shop in Toyonaka. Today, I had the okonomiyaki mix. It's not fluffy, but rather has a satisfying texture. You can also take home any leftovers. Personally, I quite like the taste.

I have been to the restaurant in Toyonaka many times. I heard that they opened a shop in Nihonbashi, so I visited it right away. The interior is beautiful and stylish. It doesn't look like an okonomiyaki restaurant, but it's a popular place in the northern part of Osaka. The dishes I ordered, such as squid and pork yakisoba, beef tendon modan yaki, and peperoncino edamame, were all delicious. They also have an a la carte menu. The taste is just as good as in Toyonaka. The yakisoba has a lot of cabbage and is delicious. I'm glad to be able to enjoy this taste in the city. There is no doubt that this okonomiyaki restaurant will become popular in Nihonbashi.

In June 2023, a new restaurant called "AT THE 21 namba" will open in the Namba-Sennichimae area. The nearest stations are Namba and Nipponbashi. You can search for it on your smartphone map by entering "Namba Sennichimae 4-5". The restaurant is popular among young people for its "Ice Cream at 9 PM" concept. The seating includes tables for 4 people, with 7 tables available. The restaurant is scheduled to be closed on Wednesdays. The menu includes dishes such as okonomiyaki, negiyaki, yakisoba, modanyaki, and omusoba. There are no side dishes, only flour-based items. The "Modanyaki" at the Toyonaka branch is particularly famous, and many customers there order it. The reviewer ordered the "Ikabuta (okonomiyaki)" for 1,450 yen and the "Buta yakisoba" for 1,100 yen. The portions are generous, so they allow takeout for leftovers. The reviewer suggests that this could be a good option for a bento box the next day. The reviewer also mentions considering various factors if they were the owner, such as researching the tastes, prices, customer base, turnover rate, and side dishes of nearby famous restaurants. Overall, the reviewer enjoyed the food, especially the "Modanyaki" that everyone else was ordering. The love of regular customers from the Toyonaka branch can be felt at the Namba branch, which earns the restaurant a higher rating.
