[Zojirushi Ginshiro Onigiri]
A specialty onigiri shop run by that rice cooker maker at Hankyu Department Store B1F, inside the convenience store Delica. They cook up a blend of carefully selected rice by the rice master using the "Enbu Yaki" method! Around 20 different types of onigiri and a few bento boxes were available. I purchased the salmon onigiri for ¥240, the Nanko Ume and Shirasu with Ume onigiri for ¥300, and the Nori Zukushi onigiri for ¥250. The weather was nice, so I enjoyed them on the rooftop garden♡ As expected from the top-of-the-line "Enbu Yaki" model, the rice was moist with a slight sweetness and had a pleasantly chewy texture. The most popular salmon onigiri had a delicious saltiness that paired perfectly with the rice. The Nanko Ume and Shirasu with Ume onigiri had a crispy texture from the Ume and a delightful aroma from the sesame and shirasu - my favorite of the ones I tried♡ The Nori Zukushi onigiri had a crunchy texture from the wasabi and a spicy kick that was addictive.

As a fan of onigiri, I had been curious about a shop that the rice cooker maker Zojirushi had opened. In addition to the usual triangle-shaped onigiri, they also had cake-like onigiri. I decided to try the discounted set of three, which included two cake-type onigiri: one with plum and one with seaweed. The cake-type onigiri looked pretty, perfect for social media, but while they were tasty, I felt that the rice was lacking. The rice seemed to be overshadowed by the various fillings packed inside. I wish they would emphasize the rice more. The regular onigiri were delicious, but I still think they should pay more attention to the quality of the rice.

On a day when I'm running late, I want to eat takeout onigiri right away! Onigiri from Zojirushi Dining? Zojirushi is the rice cooker brand, right. Looks delicious! Silver white onigiri! Grilled cod roe, nankou plum and plum shirasu, nankou plum. The grilled cod roe also has one with barley. Rice is delicious after all! The grilled cod roe has one on the outside and one inside. It's a sufficient side dish. The salt in the rice is mild and it's softly shaped. Ah, Japanese onigiri is the best! Thank you for the meal.

"I can't believe they actually offer this kind of item." That's what I was saying out loud when I found this eel sauce-only bento box. This is a takeout specialty store run by the well-known manufacturer "Zojirushi Corporation," famous for their vacuum bottles, rice cookers, and electric pots. The store offers bento boxes where rice, cooked in Zojirushi's high-end rice cooker [Enmaki Cook], takes center stage, along with onigiri and rice-based dishes. I have tried traditional onigiri and unique creative onigiri here before, but when I stopped by the store in July, I found some unique bento boxes on display. One of them was the "Unagi-no-Nai Unagi-no-Tare Gohan Bento," which I purchased along with new onigiri flavors such as "Tajima Beef Unagi Tamago" and "Dried Scallop Rice." This bento box was created in response to the joking voices in the community saying they wanted to eat rice with just eel sauce, and Zojirushi actually made it happen with their "Zojirushi Silver White Onigiri." While eel prices have been soaring in recent years, this bento box was surprisingly affordable compared to other eel-related products typically found in department stores. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a unique item that is not even available at nearby supermarkets. Personally, I felt that this bento box had a down-to-earth charm compared to the high-end image of department stores like Hankyu Umeda. When I tried it, I found that the eel sauce was not overpowering but rather served as a subtle complement to the flavorful rice. I also tried topping it with a raw egg as recommended by the staff, and it offered a different deliciousness compared to an eel bowl or eel roll. As for the new onigiri flavors I purchased with the bento box, the "Tajima Beef Unagi Tamago" had a slightly stronger seasoning than the eel sauce rice, providing a satisfying bite. The "Dried Scallop Rice" had a delicate flavor both from the scallops on top and the rice itself. This eel sauce rice bento box is available until July 31st. If you prefer the strong flavors of grilled eel or thick sauce, you may find it lacking, but if you enjoy subtly flavored rice and want to experience the eel season without breaking the bank, this could be a good option for you. Feel free to consider this as a reference.

"I tried the 'Zojirushi Ginshiro Onigiri' set of two popular onigiri and it was different from convenience store onigiri. This 'Zojirushi Ginshiro Onigiri' is a booth in the deli corner of the Hankyu Department Store in Umeda, Osaka (right near Hankyu Umeda Station). The shop is located on the basement 1st floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store, with a dedicated booth at the back of the convenience store deli corner, offering various onigiri and bento boxes. I saw several office workers as customers. This time, due to budget constraints, I bought the set of two popular onigiri. When I tried them, both the white rice with salt and white rice with salmon were included in the set (perhaps the packaging is simplified to reduce costs), and both had a fluffy and chewy texture with a subtle saltiness, simply delicious (the white rice with salmon has salmon flakes on top and inside). The set costs 330 yen + tax, so it's like a high-end version of convenience store onigiri. They also offer various types of onigiri as single items, and although they were sold out, it seemed like they also have bento boxes available. If you want to try onigiri in Umeda, consider adding this option to your list. Check out the short video review here: https://youtube.com/shorts/6b7CJEZWG6A"

This is just my personal opinion, but the ideal rice texture can be a matter of preference. I personally like my rice to be firm enough that each grain is distinct. The onigiri I bought this time included three varieties: Nanko-ume, salmon, and nori wasabi. Among these, the Nanko-ume and salmon rice were soft, while the nori wasabi rice was slightly firmer, with each grain being distinguishable. I wonder if this difference is due to the packaging. The nori wasabi onigiri came in a dome-shaped package without being wrapped in film, while the others were wrapped in film. This might have trapped steam inside the onigiri. However, the rice itself was delicious, and the other bento options were appealing. I might try buying a bento box next time.

Zojirushi's onigiri shop also sells bento boxes. It may be a bit more expensive than convenience stores. I tried the simplest salt onigiri for takeout. The rice is delicious! Even when it's cold, it has a good aroma, the grains are firm, and the moisture level is just right. It doesn't taste like freshly cooked rice, but more like rice specifically for making onigiri. It's completely different from convenience store onigiri and was delicious.

Hankyu Department Store B1F corner "Zojirushi Ginshiro Onigiri". I had never been to a convenience store deli before. I learned about Zojirushi's onigiri from another person's post. Zojirushi sells rice cookers, so it must be delicious! The onigiri are neatly lined up in individual packages. I like bento boxes, but I want to choose my favorite ingredients. ★Popular No. 1 Salt Onigiri 160 yen ★Popular No. 2 Salmon 240 yen The size is medium. When I got home, I tried the salt onigiri first. Ah, the perfect amount of salt! And the rice is cooked perfectly too ( ゚Д゚) Delicious! This is already a feast. If they were freshly made, I could eat 5 of them. The salmon is also delicious, of course. The saltiness is more direct in the salt one. For side dishes, I bought some fried horse mackerel from "Korokke no Iroha" next door and had it for dinner. It was crispy and tasty. (I said I was just going to eat the onigiri) I had a satisfying meal with onigiri and fried fish.

In the basement of Hankyu Umeda Main Store, there is a convenience store deli called "Zojirushi Ginhaku Onigiri" which offers onigiri (rice balls) made by Zojirushi Mahobin. The white rice is a blend of "Galaxy no Shizuku" from Iwate Prefecture and "Tandamai Koshihikari" from Saga Prefecture, curated by rice master Manato Kaneko. They use Zojirushi's high-end rice cooker "Enbukidaki" to cook the rice in the kitchen. In addition to classic onigiri, they also offer creative onigiri, mixed rice onigiri, and hearty onigiri. The salt onigiri (152 yen) has a chewy texture with a slight sweetness and each grain of rice is well separated. The seasonal matsutake mushroom rice ball (303 yen) was also delicious.

In the corner of the convenience deli at Hankyu Department Store, there were eye-catching onigiri from Zojirushi Shirogane. I purchased the hearty salmon roe onigiri (497 yen), the hearty seared bacon onigiri (432 yen), and the bamboo shoot kamameshi (249 yen). The salmon roe and seared bacon onigiri were large and filled with plenty of ingredients. After eating two, I was quite full. The bamboo shoot kamameshi was described as an elegant onigiri.

Onigiri comes in three types: creative, mochi barley, and white rice. Mochi barley and white rice have their own respective ingredients. Some of the onigiri from Ginshiro Bento in Shin-Osaka were also being sold. Even if they are not displayed at the store, they seem to make them upon request. Known as the "food department store of Hankyu," Hankyu Department Store has finally completed its grand opening with the establishment of "Hankyu Food Hall." I visited a specialty store that focuses on onigiri made with rice cooked in the top-class rice cooker "Enbu Takumi" by Zojirushi Co., Ltd. This is the third project following Zojirushi Dining (Namba) and Zojirushi Ginshiro Bento (Shin-Osaka). I bought the "Colorful Temari" (238 yen) and the "Fukuya Mentaiko" (249 yen). The onigiri has a chewy texture for each grain of rice and a fluffy feeling as it melts in your mouth.

The rice was just the right texture and the tsukudani was flavorful and delicious! The rice was brown rice but easy to eat. It's a bit pricey though.

I also ended up buying onigiri from Zojirushi Shokudo. When you bake it, it contains twice as much as a regular onigiri. It was incredibly delicious.
