After the giant high-powered dryer used to dry the dog's hair broke, I went to "Yodobashi City Mall" on the 6th floor to buy a new one. I also picked up some groceries at the supermarket on the 2nd floor and decided to have lunch at "Kukuru DELISTA Temmabashi Store" next door. I ordered the Akashiyaki Set for 920 yen, which included 8 pieces of Akashiyaki, takoyaki rice, sweet vinegar ginger, and miso soup. The Akashiyaki at Kukuru is a special treat with large pieces of octopus inside, unlike the smaller ones you usually find. The set also came with delicious takoyaki rice and miso soup. The Akashiyaki was hot and fluffy, filled with plenty of egg and large octopus pieces. I enjoyed dipping it in the broth and trying the Himeji-style eating method with sauce. It was a light and satisfying lunch.

I ordered the same as last time: 8 takoyaki and negi-filled Akashiyaki. Both were delicious, with large and tasty octopus! As expected from "Kukuru," they are a bit pricey but worth it. The dashi in the Akashiyaki was also flavorful with the umami of kelp. I ended up getting quite full, so I wonder if I can still eat dinner as planned. I must stick to the menu! [Visit on October 24, 2016] After work, I went shopping at Nitori in Keihan City Mall. Then, I went to "Dotombori Kukuru Keihan City Mall Store" in the basement for a snack before dinner - a forbidden treat~ The small store had about 8 seats. I ordered 8 pieces of takoyaki and negi-filled Akashiyaki. The Akashiyaki arrived, and the crispy negi and large octopus were delicious! The broth had a strong kombu flavor. The takoyaki arrived! I topped them generously with sauce, mayonnaise, and bonito flakes. The octopus in the takoyaki was also large and delicious! Ah, it was so tasty~ My stomach ended up quite full. Thank you very much for the wonderful meal!

I thought Tabelog was good. I saw a post about "Kukuru" in Dotonbori, and I marked it as "want to go" because I wanted to try the "Takoyaki Meshi". I go to Tenma Bridge for work about 2-3 times a year, so I stopped by. I have posted about "Kukuru" a few times, but it was always about takoyaki. However, when I saw the post about "Takoyaki Meshi" here, I really wanted to go. I have had takoyaki from "Kukuru" before, so I know the taste. They are cooked on a hot plate, so they are fluffy and soft with less oil. The takoyaki has 5 grams of octopus and the flour broth is delicious. Even when cold, it is still tasty. You don't need toppings like sauce to make it taste good. The problem is the price... However, I ordered 8 takoyaki and Takoyaki Meshi for takeout and was surprised by the price. It was cheap! 860 yen (including tax). The receipt said "Lunch Takoyaki 8 Set". Lunchtime is a good deal here. The Takoyaki Meshi had chewy rice and flavorful octopus. "Kukuru" is great for lunchtime!

What caught my attention was not the takoyaki or akashiyaki, but the "Takoyaki Meshi" (380 yen) with sweet vinegar ginger and soup. The rice was cooked to perfection with a rich flavor of octopus. It was only after eating that I noticed it was only available as a set. The portion was like a large rice bowl. It might be best to pair it with takoyaki or akashiyaki as well, although it's quite a carb-heavy combination typical of Kansai cuisine. It reminded me of the first time I tried akashiyaki at Matsuzakaya's underground floor, and I also enjoyed the okonomiyaki from Botedju (the original store). Thank you for the meal.

I had Akashiyaki! I had the regular one and also the one with green onions called "half and half". They cook it after you order, so you can enjoy it hot. However, the lady sitting next to me seemed unable to wait for it to cook and left (;^_^A The man on the other side ordered Akashiyaki and when the waitress told him it would take 7-8 minutes, he changed his order to already cooked takoyaki! But it doesn't take that long at all!! Just wait a little, it's really delicious! I finished all the broth and my stomach feels warm now. Next time, I'll get the one with green onions, 8 pieces.

In December, while shopping at a supermarket in Temmabashi, I decided to try the takoyaki at Kukuru. At 740 yen for 12 pieces, it's a price that true Osakans would never go for (it's too high for a tourist-targeted price). However, on that day, I really wanted to eat takoyaki so I decided to give it a try. The takoyaki arrived naked, with the sauce, nori, and bonito flakes for you to adjust as you like (a style where you can adjust it to your liking). Surprisingly, I might actually prefer this style. You can put on as much sauce as you want. I started off by elegantly drizzling sauce on top for a photo, and then casually drowned it in sauce and ate it. As for the taste, it was delicious. The texture of the batter was fluffy and gooey, and the octopus inside had a decent amount of volume. It was like the perfect example of takoyaki. While I believe that once you've placed your order, you shouldn't complain about the price, personally, unless the price per piece of takoyaki falls below 40 yen, I might not rate the takoyaki highly.

When I visited DELISTA to buy groceries, I discovered this shop where you can sit at the counter and eat. It felt a bit embarrassing, but as a Kansai person, I didn't mind. I ordered the "Big Takoyaki" to go from a shop that specializes in Akashiyaki. It was crowded, so I had to get it to go. The appearance is like a slightly flattened UFO shape, typical of Akashiyaki. It was not crispy like Gin-dako, but rather fluffy and soft. The amount of egg was not overwhelming, and the taste was like regular takoyaki.
