I heard that a popular restaurant in Osaka opened in Kyoto, so I made a reservation for a course meal. The course included homemade Korean seaweed tsukudani, various types of kimchi (cabbage, radish, cucumber), various namul dishes (bean sprouts, spinach, wakame seaweed, seasonal namul), live snow crab marinated in spicy sauce, japchae, Korean beef bulgogi, steamed pork (bossam), samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), and sherbet. We started with a toast with beer, served in cute glasses with the restaurant's logo. As we enjoyed the homemade Korean seaweed tsukudani, the appetizers kept coming one after another. The portion was generous and satisfying for two people. The kimchi was mildly spicy, and each namul dish had a different taste, keeping us interested. The snow crab marinated in spicy sauce had no fishy smell, was sweet, and very delicious. We also had ikura served in a crab shell with rice, crab miso, and uni, which was incredibly tasty. The bulgogi had a sweet and savory flavor that paired well with rice and alcohol. The bossam was light and refreshing, a nice break from the rich flavors. The samgyetang was delicately flavored and warm, perfect for a cold day. We forgot to take a picture as the staff served the chicken right in front of us. Lastly, we enjoyed the sherbet as a light and refreshing finish. Despite our initial doubts about finishing everything, we enjoyed every bite until the end. The restaurant also had a beautiful courtyard and a great atmosphere, adding to the overall experience.

The course offers a variety of dishes that are visually appealing and popular with women. I really like the sweet and delicious seaweed tsukudani. The namul has a mild flavor and is healthy. Some of the kimchi is slightly spicy. The chapchae is very delicious. The kejjan is small in portion and slightly fishy and dry. The samgyetang is, as expected, very delicious. The amount of the course is quite generous.

I visited a Korean restaurant called Gojominami in Karasuma Oike, Kyoto for the first time. I've always wanted to go there and finally made it! Today, I ordered the following menu items: - Kejan tasting set (price unknown) - Cucumber kimchi for 660 yen - Watercress namul for 660 yen - Small pork belly for 880 yen - Small samgyeopsal for 1100 yen. I was also considering trying the ginseng chicken soup, but I'm not a fan of sticky rice so I gave up on that idea. I made a reservation for 6 pm as I heard it's a popular spot, and it was almost full when I arrived. Even on weekdays, it seems to be a busy place! The Kejan, which I love, was something I had only tried in Korea before, but I was very satisfied with the authentic taste here. The restaurant has one private room, around 5 counter seats, and several traditional table seating areas. The interior has a very Kyoto-like, traditional Japanese atmosphere which was quite lovely. I might try the ginseng chicken soup course next time since it caught my interest. Thank you for the delicious meal! It was really tasty!

Samgyetang has a very gentle flavor with a rich broth and is delicious, but it was inconvenient that you have to order it for the entire party. It felt selfish to be forced to have everyone eat it or choose not to have it at all at a restaurant. I wanted to try various other dishes in smaller portions. The serving size for one person was about three bowls of rice. The Korean seaweed tsukudani served as an appetizer was sweet and very delicious. The chapchae was smooth and the seasoning was very tasty, and the fresh raw intestines were crunchy and delicious. The kimbap had too strong of a salty taste and the ingredients like cucumber and egg gave it a sushi-like feel, lacking a Korean touch which was a bit disappointing. The white makgeolli was overwhelmingly more delicious than the red one. Kanjanggejang costs around 5000 yen, but it is often not available on the day, so it is recommended to make a reservation when calling. It was delicious, but I felt restricted in terms of freedom, so if I were to visit Il-san next time, I would like to try another restaurant.

The taste was highly rated, but not to the point of the cheeks falling off. I went because I wanted to eat Cajun, but it was too salty. The samgyetang was average and I can make it in a pressure cooker at home. I got hooked on Songmakori and ordered it at home later. The chapchae had few vegetables. The samgyupsal was disappointing as it was served on a plate already cooked. The bulgogi had cheap beef and the atmosphere was lacking. It was nice to have a private room to relax, but the cost performance was not worth it. The dishes were on par with a chain restaurant, but the prices were too high.

I visited the restaurant on Saturday night. I was able to make a reservation even on the same night. I ordered Samgyetang, Kimbap, and Kimchi. Samgyetang is served for a minimum of 2 people and costs around 4000-5000. The Samgyetang had a rich chicken broth and was very delicious. It goes well with sticky rice. Even though I ate the portion for 2 people alone, it was quite filling. In other Korean restaurants, Samgyetang often requires a reservation, but here you can order it on the spot. They also recommended Gejang, but it wasn't available on the day I visited due to the weather. I would like to try Gejang next time I visit. The Kimchi was also rich and delicious. I didn't see dishes like Stone Pot Bibimbap on the menu.

I made a phone reservation and visited the restaurant on a regular night. They had a wide selection of authentic Korean dishes, including kimchi and alcohol. I ordered the unusual makgeolli, which was a bit difficult to open but paired well with the food. The prices of the dishes seemed a bit high, but the samgyetang had a generous portion and was delicious. The restaurant had a beautiful interior and provided a calm atmosphere to enjoy Korean cuisine.

This is my favorite place, I have visited three times. I always order the Kimbap, it's a must. It has a refined taste with a strong sesame oil flavor. The Samgyetang is a must-have as well. It's delicious and warms the heart. This is the number one Korean restaurant in Kyoto.

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Karasuma Oike Station, Korean restaurant "Kankoku Shokudo Iru Goshominami" is known for its Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and is a popular spot with multiple branches across Kansai. Selected as one of the top 100 Asian & Ethnic restaurants in the west in 2022, this place is a must-visit. While reservations are essential due to its popularity, it is relatively easy to secure a booking unless it's last minute, making it a great choice for gatherings with friends. On this visit, we tried the Samgyetang for two, Wagyu bulgogi, and the restaurant's signature potato salad. The Wagyu bulgogi comes with ssamjang for wrapping, and the combination is so delicious that you could keep eating it endlessly. The famous Samgyetang, filled with glutinous rice, features tender chicken and a rich, gentle soup that pairs perfectly with the satisfying rice. Especially recommended during the winter months for its comforting and warming dishes, be sure to visit and enjoy! Thank you for the meal!

They also have a Samgyetang restaurant in Kyoto! Anyway, Samgyetang. The Gejang was also delicious, but the Samgyetang! The overall flavor is not too strong and easy to eat. That's the key. I love it. No matter how many people you order for, a whole chicken is served. The size varies depending on the number of people. And it's dangerous to order more thinking you can still eat. Everything is delicious but... it's quite filling. So, you either focus on the Samgyetang and enjoy the others or order a course meal to enjoy each dish little by little. Anyway, Samgyetang is the best. It may be more consistent than eating it in Seoul. And more and more branches are opening. Haha, I love Korean food.

Osaka was packed. I heard that Kyoto was less crowded, so I made a reservation over the phone. Although I was able to make a reservation easily, the restaurant was full when I arrived. Here, you can enjoy samgyetang in a pot, which usually has a 3-month wait in Osaka. I opted for the course menu. The samgyetang tasted similar to the one in Osaka, I couldn't really tell the difference. There was an overwhelming amount of glutinous rice in it, I couldn't finish it all. The dish with Korean seaweed mixed with sesame oil served at the beginning was delicious. I forgot to take a photo. I think it's worth visiting at least once.

I made a reservation and went at 5:00 PM! The food was incredibly delicious!! The atmosphere was also great (^^) However, even though we were the first to arrive, the main dish, Samgyetang, took over 2 hours to arrive, which was a bit disappointing. The taste was delicious, so I would like to visit again (^^)

【Asia Ethnic Top 100 Restaurants 2022】Located a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Karasuma Oike Station on the Karasuma Line, it is about the same distance from Marutamachi. A traditional Kyoto-style old house with a white noren curtain featuring a symbol of a mother (Omoni) marks the entrance. Upon entering, you will find a Japanese-style interior, where you must take off your shoes before entering the store. Inside, there are table seats with zabuton cushions and counter seats. The reclining zabuton cushions allow you to relax comfortably, just like at home. The specialty here is Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), but since I was dining alone that day, I decided to try it next time. *This rule was explained in detail when making a reservation by phone. Menu items ordered: - Chapchae ¥990 (tax included) - Wagyu beef bulgogi (small) ¥1,100 - Kimbap ¥550 The staff at the restaurant were very kind, providing guidance on portion sizes and suggesting a seat change when a counter seat became available. The Chapchae had a gentle flavor and a pleasant texture. The bulgogi had a rich sweet and savory sauce, and wrapping it in large lettuce leaves with sauce and kimchi seemed like a great combination. The Kimbap, with six rolls, served as a nice break between bites of bulgogi. On this day, the customers were all women, and it seemed like there were many repeat customers. Next time, I plan to try the specialty dish, Samgyetang. Thank you for the delicious meal.

For those who want to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine in Kyoto, I highly recommend trying Samgyetang, which is usually difficult to reserve in Osaka. We were looking forward to dining at this restaurant, located in a luxurious setting near the Imperial Palace, with private rooms perfect for families to relax and enjoy. The courtyard was also lovely. The Kejang tasting was amazing, and we were impressed by the delicious Samgyetang, steamed pork, Chapchae, Kimchi, seaweed, and other dishes we ordered. Everything was excellent and perfect for various occasions such as dates or business entertaining.

I visited for the first time!!!! It was a stylish Korean restaurant! The prices were a bit high but it was a nice place. The makgeolli was easy to drink with little acidity. It didn't have the atmosphere of a typical Korean pub, but it was enjoyable!

Ukumaru Oike "Korean Restaurant Iru Goshominami" On this day, I visited the "Korean Restaurant Iru Goshominami" in Ukumaru Oike after a long time. This restaurant has branches in Osaka Fukushima and Tokyo, both of which have received a Bib Gourmand award. It is part of the authentic Samgyetang series run by the son of Mr. Park, who is said to have introduced the current style of Samgyetang to Japan. They have also opened a single-serving Samgyetang specialty store called "Samgyetang Jinru (Niru)" in Tsuruhashi and Gion, and they are gaining momentum. I personally like the Samgyetang here and have visited quite often. I even introduced this restaurant when I appeared on TV. On this day, I had a business meeting with someone and we sat at the counter. The calm atmosphere of the renovated machiya is suitable for various occasions such as dates, drinking parties, or business meetings. The Korean seaweed tsukudani served as an appetizer is so delicious that I always end up buying a bottle as a souvenir. First, we had a small size of the chef's authentic kimchi. It has a rich flavor with a proper level of spiciness. Be careful not to eat too fast, as you'll need plenty of beer to accompany it. Enjoy it slowly as a side dish and save some for later to accompany the Samgyetang. Next, we had the small size of Pposam for 880 yen. A delicious Korean restaurant must have delicious Pposam. This is my biased opinion, but the fatty meat is tender and not overwhelming. The Chojang sauce is also delicious, but I prefer the simple salt seasoning. The Kanjang Kejang for 5,500 yen is a must-try. They focus on using live seafood, so there is no fishy smell, and it is incredibly sweet. You can't help but devour it. Inside the shell, there is rice and salmon roe. Eating it with the innards is also exquisite. Lastly, we had the main dish, Samgyetang for 1,980 yen per person. The staff kindly debones the tender young chicken, and the soup is packed with chicken flavor. It's excellent on its own. The wolfberry seeds enhance the soup's flavor, while the jujube absorbs excess fat. Additionally, Korean ginseng boosts nourishment. Adding kimchi halfway through changes the flavor and makes it even more delicious. My stomach is full, but just thinking about it makes me want to eat it again. I have to go back soon.

Korean restaurant "Nyol Nyol" in Kyoto, Japan has been on my radar for a while and I finally got to visit. They specialize in Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and also have sister stores in Osaka and Tokyo. Due to COVID-19, they were not serving Gejang (marinated raw crab) so I opted for the Samgyetang, Kimbap, and Namul. The Samgyetang was so delicious that I will definitely be back for the Gejang next time. Operating hours are Monday to Friday 17:00-23:00, Saturday and Sunday 16:00-23:00. They are closed on irregular days. Budget is around 3,000 yen per person, no parking available, cards and electronic money are accepted. Please check their Instagram or website for any temporary changes in operating hours due to emergencies or shortened hours.

[First Visit on 11/21] I really want to eat Samgyetang at Tamichi-san, but my friend Torasan rejected it. Oh well, I want to eat Samgyetang! I searched on Tabelog! Found this shop here. It seems to be a part of the Hanmi series of restaurants? I remember Hanmi-san being featured in the Amakara Techo 100 selections in the past. I'm so smart, there's no doubt about this place! Alright, let's go! We came to Kyoto with my friend to see the autumn leaves. We arrived at Karasuma Station. Oh, there's Shizuku, the bakery I used to go to when I lived in Kyoto for 3 years. The exterior is a Kyoto-style machiya with a refreshing white wall, giving a sophisticated feel. The interior is a calm, adult space. Fantastic! We ordered a draft beer for 660 yen and cheers! Ah, it's delicious! Most of the a la carte menu items are included in the course meals. The course meals seem like a better deal. We ordered the course meal, which is the Korean restaurant's Samgyetang course for 6,600 yen including tax. The homemade Korean seaweed tsukudani is so delicious. The sweetness of the sugar is great! It goes well with rice and beer, a versatile dish! Various types of kimchi (Chinese cabbage, radish, cucumber) each have different flavors and are enjoyable. Personally, I think the Chinese cabbage is the best, it has a rich and delicious taste. Various types of namul (bean sprouts, spinach, seaweed, seasonal namul) have a light seasoning that is good. The live blue crab kejang (two types to compare) 1. Spicy type: The spiciness blends well with the deliciousness of the crab. So delicious! 2. Soy sauce type: The soy sauce base makes it more Japanese and harmonious. A strong handshake between Korea and Japan, so delicious! The biggest hit of the day, Chapchae and Wagyu Bulgogi are a must-eat here. The umami of Wagyu beef combines perfectly with the sweet and savory sauce. Steamed pork (bossam), Hanmi's Samgyetang has a light and natural flavor. I ate it all up, so delicious! For dessert, a refreshing taste. In between the Samgyetang and dessert, we ordered Kimbap for 550 yen. This was a great additional order, light and elegant in taste. The service of explaining the dishes was polite and welcoming, making the dining experience enjoyable. The total cost for two people was around 17,000 yen. Considering the delicious food and service, I am very satisfied. In conclusion, if you are looking for a delicious restaurant in Kyoto, this is the place to go. Enjoy elegant Korean cuisine here.
