Kitashinchi Torisho Ren (Kitashinchi, Osaka) Today's visit to Kitashinchi. As I entered the area, a sign caught my eye - Torisho's Oyakodon for 1000 yen. I hesitated, thinking maybe it wasn't meant to be, but then I saw another sign. I followed it to a calm and inviting restaurant on the second floor of a building. I was seated at a spacious counter. They offered ramen as well, but I opted for the Oyakodon. After a bit of a wait, my meal arrived at 12:30. It looked delicious, made with charcoal-grilled local chicken. Kitashinchi truly is on another level. Despite the affordable price, they didn't skimp on quality. This is the Kitashinchi standard. The thickness of the hot towel also stood out. I was in Kitashinchi yesterday as well (though technically in Doshima), so it seems there's a lot to explore in this area. Taking advantage of a slightly longer lunch break, I visited "Kitashinchi Torisho Ren" during my break. The restaurant is located on the second floor at the northern end of the lunch area in Kitashinchi, accessible via stairs from the outer perimeter. I ordered the "Torisho's Oyakodon" with extra white rice. The dish seemed more ordinary than I had expected.
Food & Taste: 3.3
The "Torisho's Oyakodon" comes with miso soup and pickles. The chicken is called Kagura tori, known for its tender texture with a nice smoky flavor from charcoal grilling. It is served in a suitable portion, topped with a fluffy egg. The flavor is quite rich and satisfying, similar to other Oyakodon dishes offered in different restaurants.
Service: 3.4
The staff provided friendly and humble service typical of Kitashinchi. When asking for permission to take photos, they made sure not to include other customers in the pictures. They also offered free extra white rice and responded politely to inquiries.
Atmosphere: 3.3
The restaurant's location and interior design are in line with the Kitashinchi style. The wooden decor gives a sense of luxury, with warm lighting creating a cozy ambiance. The background music is mellow Western music that you might hear in a bar. There were about 8 customers visible during my visit, mostly women, creating a lively atmosphere.
Cost Performance: 3.0
The "Torisho's Oyakodon" costs 1000 yen with free extra white rice. While it is within the average price range for Kitashinchi lunches, some may find the portion size of side dishes a bit lacking.

Despite my original plans falling through, I decided to stop by this restaurant without prior research. The overall environment and experience felt very much like Kitashinchi.

At Kitashinchi, I had yakitori at a place where cars used to be parked. I had the yakitori course menu. The elegant interior had a calm atmosphere which was quite nice. The chicken sashimi was also quite good. The skewers started with chicken breast. It paired really well with wasabi soy sauce. It's not too expensive, but it's a good place to enjoy decent yakitori in a nice atmosphere.

【Impression】
I went to a high-end yakitori restaurant in Kitashinchi where you can have their exquisite Oyakodon for lunch. When you lift the lid, the almost orange, silky smooth egg is very appetizing. The chicken is grilled over charcoal, giving it a fragrant and firm texture with rich flavor. Oyakodon from a yakitori restaurant is always delicious, right? This quality for ¥1,000 is a great deal. Definitely worth a visit!

It used to be a charcoal-grilled restaurant in Miyazaki that turned black, but now it has changed its concept. It is a course-only restaurant where you can enjoy wine and Miyazaki's local chicken brand. You start with an appetizer, choosing between sashimi or Tataki. You can also add Shirako, which is a rich liver that is delicious. They show you the daily skewers before grilling them. The salt seasoning is mild, and you can add more from the table if you prefer. I found it flavorful enough as it was. The grilling is slightly strong, with a nice charcoal aroma. The finale of the rice cooked in a clay pot was also good, making it a well-balanced course overall.

I visited the yakitori restaurant "Kitashinchi Torisho Ren" around 7 pm on a certain day in April 2023. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, with many table seats. I informed them of my reservation and was seated at the counter with my companion. We opted for the ¥8,800 chef's special course, which included a sparkling wine for toasting. We started with a delightful assortment of six appetizers, including Kagura chicken tartare, Kagura chicken simmered in soy sauce, salmon terrine, firefly squid with vinegar miso, and bamboo shoot with miso paste. The presentation was beautiful and each dish was delicious. The chicken sashimi trio included thigh, breast, and white liver sashimi, all of which were of excellent quality. The chicken skewers were next, starting with wasabi-topped chicken breast. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the skewers were a delight to enjoy with a beer. The grilled eggplant was perfectly cooked to bring out its sweetness, while the grilled chicken heart was juicy and tasty. In between the skewers, we were served a dish of steamed sea bream and fresh tofu with cherry blossoms, which was a lovely spring touch. We continued with various chicken skewers, including fillet, liver, and gizzard, all of which were cooked to perfection. We also ordered zucchini and tomato with Parmesan cheese, as well as some rare cuts like soriresu and skin. To finish off, we added on skewers of chicken cartilage and minced chicken meatballs. The meal concluded with a comforting bowl of bamboo shoot and cherry shrimp rice, miso soup, and pickles. Overall, the experience was delightful, and the combination of yakitori and sake made for a truly satisfying dining experience.

I visited the restaurant of Torisho Ren in Kitahama a few times, but they have opened a new shop in Kita-Shinchi, so I made a reservation for the chef's choice course and visited. We started with sparkling wine and appetizers. It's May, so are those irises? They are beautiful. For the hassun, you can choose between chicken sashimi or tataki. The chicken sashimi was fresh with no hint of odor. The tataki was refreshing and delicious with plenty of condiments. The chicken liver sashimi melts in your mouth. Just with the appetizers and sashimi, we finished a bottle of white wine. The grilled dishes started with "Kagura chicken", which was sweet and juicy. The seseri, bonjiri, and sori-less were delicious. We chose lotus root and thick asparagus for the grilled vegetables. The warm dish of clam and shirataki chawanmushi had a gentle and flavorful broth. It was heartwarming. We added extra teba, which was a favorite. It was easy to remove the bones. For the main dish, we had "ayu rice cooked in a pot". It's the season for ayu. It was delicious with the unique fragrance of ayu and plenty of condiments. The restaurant has a clean and bright atmosphere. I felt it was more suitable for business entertainment rather than casual dining. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the feast.
