After having lunch near Shijo, we decided to go to a cafe and ended up trying Cafe Labore for the first time. Despite the crowded streets due to the cherry blossoms, the cafe was not as busy as we expected. There was a sign at the entrance saying that egg sandwiches were not available, and inside, there were only two customers. The cafe had a bar-like layout with various old items from different countries displayed, which was quite enjoyable to look at. We debated whether to have dessert or just drinks, but since it was a one-drink minimum, we opted for drinks only this time. I ordered the "Queen's Coffee," which was a cold coffee with sweet milk made from condensed milk. The coffee itself was very refreshing, and the sweet milk added a nice touch of sweetness that gradually changed the flavor. It was a great environment to relax and take a break. My companion ordered the "Ein Spanner with Schokolagen," which came with whipped cream on a separate plate, which was quite unique. In addition to the renowned egg sandwich from Cafe Madrag, Cafe Gabol offers a wide range of drink and dessert options, making it a perfect spot to take a break in Kyoto. I ordered the popular Schwarzer Mitt Milch, a stylish German menu coffee. The milk and coffee were poured in a fashionable way, and the glass itself was stylish as well. I enjoyed the bitterness of the coffee while slowly mixing it to create a smooth taste. The portion was generous, so I didn't run out of my drink quickly! The only downside is that the phone signal is weak, but if you want to relax and read a book, I highly recommend visiting. Thank you for the meal!

It's more like a cafe where French artists gather rather than a specialized coffee shop. In fact, you can hear conversations from neighboring customers about "theatrical troupe-related," "music-related," "movie-related," and so on. The atmosphere of the shop changes in the evening. With dim lighting and candlelight, it feels like a world straight out of a "Ryuichi Shibusawa" novel. One unique item you can only find here is the "egg sandwich." The recipe for this legendary egg sandwich, which was served at a traditional Kyoto coffee shop, was passed down to two shops when it closed, and this is one of them. The fluffy thick omelette was visible, and it was so thick that it was hard to eat as a sandwich, so we used a fork. The taste and texture were excellent, and both of us were very satisfied. We are curious about other drinks and sweets, so we decided to come back again for sure.
